Dining is taken care of at the hotel’s main restaurant, which serves buffet-style meals with a mix of local flavours and international favourites. For drinks or a light snack, there’s a cocktail bar and pool bar – both perfect for watching the sunset over the bay.

Lovely panoramic hotel
Situated overlooking Funchal Town, the views are exceptional. We stayed 10 nights in Room 1003 on the top residential floor and this is one of the best rooms in the hotel affording extra priviledges. It is away from the hustle and quiet. The room is very large with a separate sitting area and kitchenette, large bathroom with free standing tub and walk in rain shower. All very comfortable. Cleaning service was a little variable and the turn down service never materialised albeit we were given chocolates on three of the ten nights. The breakfast buffet was very good, we dined once at the dinner buffet and were not that impressed, there are plenty of restaurants in town that are better. We also dined once at Desarma, the 11th floor Michelin stared restaurant which was superb and reviewed separately. We sat out at the outdoor pool which was lovely, clean and nice temperature with plenty of sun loungers. Staff were friendly and particular praise to Lidia De Ascensao from guest relations who was exceptional and very helpful. We had a great ten days and would certainly return.

A wonderful experience
The hotel name describes the location - it’s like sitting on a cruise ship - The rooms are spacious - dial 9 almost immediate response Breakfast is fabulous We were b&b however as the food was exceptional we ate in most evenings - themed menus - fabulous tastes - spectacular deserts Very reasonable bar prices in comparison to Croatia Taxis 8-10 euro to the centre Lovely spa No rush for beds on a morning
Beautiful situated hotel with very helpful staff
Beautiful hotel with incredible nice pool. The view of the surrounding mountains is beautiful. The staff in both restaurant and reception are very helpful. Especially the reception staff puts a lot of effort in making you feel welcome.
The Views Baia
The Views Baia did not disappoint! We had a suite on the tenth floor and the team here could not do enough for you! Everything was spotless they go above and beyond and the facilities were great! I also love the procedure they have around cleaning; if you don’t feel you need the room cleaned (you’d need to decide this on your first day) you can get €3 back per day to discount your drinks or take off your final bill - id never come across this before and thought it was a great initiative! There is also a Spa with some great facilities guests can use or there is the option to book treatments! The food was lovely; lots of choice! Would definitely recommend if you find yourself in Madeira

Great views, excellent food - highly recommend
Really pleased we chose The Views Baia. We stayed in a standard mountain view room on the 6th floor, which was quiet, clean, spacious and had a fabulous view from the bay window seating area inside the room (there was also a small balcony).
The location was good - around 10 mins walk to town, although slightly longer to get back due to the steep hill (although the hotel provides a free shuttle bus and taxis are easy to find if you can't face the climb)!
The hotel staff were all friendly and very courteous, and the facilities were excellent (especially the pool and pool bar with stunning view over Funchal bay). We also liked that the hotel is adults only - the communal areas were very calm and peaceful.
The highlight of our stay was the food - there was loads of choice at breakfast, the buffet was continually topped up, and the serving times should suit most schedules (7.30-10.30am). We only had dinner one night (33 eur each if you don't pay upfront) but it was also excellent - buffet style again with lots of choice and absolutely delicious!
