Sitting at the perfect location, this hotel is 10 minutes' walk from Poniente Beach and 20 minutes' one from Benidorm centre and Old Town. The area around it houses a wide range of cocquet restaurants, open-air bars and shops, ideal for a relaxed meal or a quick drink before heading for a good night sleep. The latter can be guaranteed in the quiet and cosy atmosphere of the venue. Those who prefer the convenience of onsite facilities can trust the inhouse restaurant for treating them to hearty buffet-style meals that will not just satisfy their hunger but introduce them to some new and unexpected tastes. The outdoor swimming pool with its separate children's area is a great choice for spending the long summer days, just lazing around and perfecting that healthy tan.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I had a lovely time at hotel Cuco. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Restaurant food was great. The only thing I would say is that the roof top could do with a refurb, It has minimal shade facilities and the pool is very small. The snack bar is also disappointing. There is a larger pool which can be accessed at the hotel next door which is nice with a mixture of shaded and unshaded beds. Bed availability was not an issue. The air con did not turn off when you left the hotel room, which was a bonus as the room was always cool on your arrival. I canβt comment on the entertainment as didnβt watch it. Overall I enjoyed my stay here and would stay again. This is a very good 3 star hotel and we got the holiday for a great price.
Would definitely not recommend food was so bad and only suitable for Spanish people. All inclusive drinks started at 12 and no entertainment for English. Definitely only catering for the Spanish on holiday and wouldnβt recommend if your English and going away for a few days
We stayed here for a family birthday, room was OK but the stench of the sewers was overwhelming. Towels not changed daily and when it's 34 outside even up until 11pm, you need clean to. Requested more pillows never arrived. Walls are paper thin, so you hear everything! The pool on the rooftop was tiny,so we used the sister hotels pool but was swamped with rude drunk spanish family's who hugged the loungers and child pool. Breakfast was amazing and the only good thing apart from the location. Won't be staying here again
After reading lots of reviews before coming here, we had quite mixed expectations. Overall, the hotel was okay, but unfortunately I donβt think we would stay here again.
We arrived at around 2am, so we were absolutely exhausted and just wanted to get to bed. We had booked a Superior Room through On the Beach, but when we got into the room, we were really surprised because it looked completely different from the photos advertised. The room was probably around a quarter of the size of the one shown online. We questioned this and were told that because our room had a rear-facing balcony, we had been given the correct roomπ€·π»ββοΈ We probably should have pushed this further, but at 2am we were too tired and just left it.
The room itself was very clean, as was the rest of the hotel, and the air conditioning was lovely throughout most of our stay β definitely needed in the Benidorm heat!
The location is one of the better things about the hotel. If you want to be near the Old Town, itβs great. Itβs around a 12β15 minute walk to the beach and roughly 35β40 minutes to the strip/New Town, so just bear that in mind depending on what you want from your holiday.
The staff were also very friendly throughout our stay, although we did find the bar arrangements a little frustrating. You canβt get a drink from the bar until 11am, and during our stay it often didnβt actually open until around 11:10β11:20. So if you have breakfast at 8:30am, youβre then going several hours without being able to get a drink from the bar. There is a water tap available all the time, which is useful.
There also only seemed to be one member of staff working at each bar at any given time, so there was usually a queue. The bars also have signs saying they close for 30 minutes for staff breaks, which is completely understandable, but it seemed to happen quite often that we would come down and find the bar closed. One time we stood waiting for around 5β10 minutes thinking the bar had closed, before realising that Guimello, one of the bar staff, was sitting in the back room on his phone. Maybe we were just unlucky with the timing, but similar things happened a few times during our stay.
The food was probably what we expected for a 3-star hotel. There was something for everyone, particularly if youβre a fussy eater, with things like chips and nuggets always available. Weβre quite adventurous eaters, but even we found some of the options, such as pig trotters in sauce, a bit of a push! π After five days we were definitely ready for something different, so I personally couldnβt imagine staying for much longer than a week. One thing we did really enjoy was the ice cream machine, which was available at both lunch and dinner.
If youβre looking for somewhere to spend most of your holiday relaxing around the hotel and pool, I probably wouldnβt recommend it. The rooftop pool is very small β Iβd say around eight people could comfortably fit in it. The larger pool shown in some of the booking photos is actually across the road at a sister hotel, and even that pool isnβt particularly big.
On our final day, the air conditioning in our room also stopped working completely while we were packing. It became very muggy in the room, which wasnβt ideal. Iβm not sure whether it had been switched off because it was check-out day or whether it was just a fault, but it was unfortunate timing.
Overall, we didnβt have a terrible stay. The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and the location is good, especially if you want to be close to the Old Town. However, between the room not looking anything like the advertised Superior Room, the small pool facilities, the bar opening arrangements and a few other little things, it just didnβt live up to what we were expecting.
It was okay for five nights, but personally I wouldnβt never stay here againπ
Hotel was clean and staff friendly and rooms are modern, however over all very disappointed in the service we received. The hotel misleads you on a lot of info when booking. For example, the roof top bar (which only takes 8 people at a time) is the ONLY all inclusive bar on site, the lower level pool you have to pay for drinks, this is really poor considering its the only shaded area in the hotel. The extension of all inclusive on the final day is advertised everywhere for Β£10- however when you ask for this you will be informed this is for drinks only and meals are an extra Β£14 per meal per person- again very misleading. When budgeting for the hotel its not clear and left us out of pocket! Also no fridge in the room so if you want to keep water in the room there is nowhere to keep it cool.
