Nice hotel avoid the food
Pros lovely spacious clean room with excellent sea view Facilities were good and the drinks were good measures Cons - AVOID the food as lots of people (myself included) were ill with sickness and diarrhoea and looking at other reviews has been going on for some time Also the staff are very friendly and helpful but if you have a complaint then they’re not interested

Just returned from the Best Benalmadena hotel. God I really wish I had read more reviews. On the surface the hotel is clean, the reception the bedrooms but there is clearly a problem. On the first night people told us in the lift that there is a problem with sickness and diarrhoea so we took extra precautions to make sure we wiped surfaces and washed our hands more than we normally would but is got us on the third day. Myself and my sister confined to our room so ill. I was sick and my sister the other. The dreaded D&V. On the Wednesday my sister managed to go to reception to tell them about it. They said you should have told us, she told them we couldn't even pick the phone up and when we did no one answered. All they said was if you need anything we can bring some rice up to the room. Not once did they check on us. I saw the state of the air con unit outside is that where the problem is who knows but this hotel has had this problem for a very long time. I am still suffering since I got back. My sister and I have both lost about 10lb in weight. This hotel seriously needs looking at. I really wish I had read the reviews. Keep clear of this hotel.

Be warned
The hotel is very nice but 12 of us on a golf trip stayed at this hotel and all of us suffered from diarrhea and vomiting. We still haven't recovered now we are home. I personally think it's something more than food poisoning.
Four Star Hotel : 4 Star Food Poisoning
Four Star Food Poisoning.
I know this may seem like a moany review, we just wanted to give people the heads up from our experience. We aren't sure why this is a Four Star hotel and here are main points of our experience (in order of occurrence):
- Not "smart" room allocation: Initially allocated a room above entertainment with a toddler. Two nights of noisy and broken sleep.
- Ant infestation: See picture for this problem. On second day, ants on floor, on bedside tables, bed and in the corridor. Pictures show - doors in room not sealed to floor which is where ants were coming from.
Note - after these points, staff moved our room.

Missing photo frames and peeling photos on main hotel walls.

Lack of removal of broken glass: Room service personnel accidentally smashed a glass. What was worrying was that she swept some bits (not all) to one side and went back into a room to clean it. Broken glass in corridors, seriously?!

By the end of a 5 day holiday, 5 out of 6 of party had been sick. Come on. Last kitchen deep clean and replacement of pans?
This hotel has given me two lasting feelings:
- A "Gordon Ramsay" style Watchdog on tourist hotels would be a fascinating watch.
- Happy to be heading home to trust where my food will be coming from.
Overall, I wouldn't describe myself as feeling rested from staying at this hotel. Wouldn't return and looking forward to going home and cooking in pans I know are clean.
Sorry guys - I wouldn't return.
A nice stay but sickness seems unavoidable
We had a lovely time staying here. The views are amazing! We found the hotel to be very clean and tidy and this included our room which was kept so well and stocked with fresh towels each day. The cleaning staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms are also nice and spacious and we had no issues with noise or anything. We also noticed how much cleaning around the pool area was done each morning including disinfecting the sun loungers. The location is a more quiet area and it is a good 5 minute taxi ride from the marina and busy areas of the town, there are only a few bars and restaurants around the hotel but the bus stop is right outside the hotel and is very cheap to travel on. Taxis are also easy accessible. There is a beach right around the corner from the hotel which is very convenient and we spent some time here relaxing which was lovely. We avoided eating in the hotel because of all the reviews, we were so afraid of getting sick. Thankfully we avoided this until we arrived home however that is when the awful V&D hit us both! We feel that it wasn’t caused by the food but it seems that something else is causing this sickness which is such a pity as the hotel has great potential and we did really enjoy our stay, we are just so glad that we didn’t get sick whilst here.
