Higueron experience
Lovely hotel but no bar area with music or any entertainment. No shops near by either and too hilly to go for a walk.
Good, could be excellent with a few tweaks…
This was a cheeky 4 night break with my best friend. On arrival at the hotel we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite, which was large and comfortable. Small detail, no hand rails to hang towels by the sink! We opted to use the rooftop pool for 2 days and had no problem getting our moneys worth from the initial 50/100 euros to rent the Balinese bed. Great food and cocktails served by friendly and welcoming staff. The last two days we reserved a Balinese Bed at the main pool via guest services, which was essential. One massive disadvantage of this hotel and which would stop me returning is the total lack of sun umbrellas round the pool. Do you are either in full sun (unbearable) or full shade, no happy medium. Breakfast was excellent but again was frustrating that we couldn’t lie by either of the pools until 11.30. When you are only there for a short amount of time that’s half the day gone hanging around waiting for it to open. We ate dinner on a half board basis in the main restaurant a couple of times. Unfortunately after the first evening my friend became violently ill with food poisoning in the night. The only think we had eaten different was that she had the burrata which is unpasteurised but I did not. I let the guest services team know of this, and they were very supportive and offered anything she needed to be sent to the room. However we noticed the burrata was still on the menu for the rest of our stay. We went to the Mediterranean restaurant for the tasting menu which was ok… food took too long and at 11.30 pm we still had not had 2 of the main courses, so we skipped them and went straight to dessert. Last night was at the Japo which was slick and well presented.
What stood out for me was the staff, from reception, guest services, main restaurant and infinity pool they were fantastic and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs.
Would I return? Yes for another short break, but only if they sorted the sun bed and pool opening time situation.

Needs umbrella's around the pool. 40 Degrees and 3 umbrellas.
Staff turn coffee machines off at 10:30am exactly when breakfast closes, so you have to have your coffee cold if you want to drink it hot after eating your breakfast as you need to get it before 10:30.
Caesar salad in the Gym poolbar was abysmal, not even one portion of protein in it for £15.
Main poolbar - it took 1 hour 20mins for a pizza. No mention of the delay when ordering. No real concern when you receive poor service. You just have to suck it up.

Girls holiday away
Location was a bit out we had to get a taxi every night. Atmosphere nice Room , we had to ask to change as we got a double not a twin. Room is very open plan and no privacy when having shower , toilet or bath. Vaule- reasonable Cleanliness-good , room got cleaned everyday with change of towels. Amenities- Use the gym - very good Pool - use two of them. Weren't told that one of the pool is use by people that are members of the fitness studio. One member wasn't please that we were using up the sun bed and told us we should use the other pool for hotel members only.
