Great hotel, food and location
We have just arrived home after a lovely stay at Amaragua. This is a very clean hotel and the rooms are adequately sized and maintained daily by the cleaning Team. There is a mini fridge in the room and a safety deposit box if required (payable). There is also a very good hairdryer in the room. You can use pool towels, and change at the spa for 1 euro. The food in the restaurant is amazing with plenty to choose from, including barbecue meats every night along with fresh fish prawns lobster and crab. The location of the hotel is perfect right on the beach front. There are plenty of sunbeds by the pool, the doors to access sunbeds are opened at 9 am daily. There is often a small queue but plenty available so no need to rush. The entertainment at the hotel is good something on every night, flamenco etc, no daytime entertainment or kids club. The only downside to this hotel for me is that it was quite smoky around the pool and in the outside restaurant which as a non-smoker was not very pleasant. Service in the outside pool bar is a little slow at times, but this is to be expected in the summer season. There is a gym and a spa which are free to use, children can access between 10 am and 11 am in the morning and between 4 pm and 5 pm in the afternoon. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, this was mainly due to the value for money and great food and location.

If Carlsberg did Hotels.....
We found the lovely resort of Carihuela several years ago, which has now become an annual visit. We have never stayed in the same place twice, so have good knowledge of the area. That said, we have now found the Hotel MS Amaragua. During the day we love the beach, so Tropicana is perfect for us, as it's the best chiringuito in our humble opinion. The hotel itself is exceptionally clean, and the staff are ever so friendly. A little room upgrade for the last week, just made the trip even more special. Due to the location the pool area is a bit tight with the beds being too close together for our liking, so after 1 day around the pool, we spent 11 days on the beach. We feel we have found the best accommodation Carihuela has to offer, so will now be regular visitors. Well done to the team, you all deserve a 5* review.
Fantastic hotel in perfect location
We have stayed at this hotel a few times & it never fails to disappoint! Beautifully kept, spotlessly clean , the most lovely & helpful staff , great restaurant for breakfast & rooms are perfectly serviced daily! Pool area has been upgraded & is amazing , will be returning again next year for sure! Location ls also wonderful, right on the beach , less than 5 mins to the old town but still close enough to walk to the marina

Have stayed here many times. The hotel is in an ideal location, not too far from the airport and opposite the beach, with direct access onto the promenade. Lots of bars and eating places around to choose from. All areas of the hotel are always very clean. Breakfast is very nice with plenty of choice. The Pool area and sun beds are clean and well kept. The grass sun bed area has now been updated and artificial grass is in place which does get hot underfoot in the summer. There are still plenty of other sun beds around the pool. All staff are very polite and helpful. We were given an early check in and were unpacked and by the pool by 10.30am. We were also given a free Balinese bed on our first day which was most welcome. We have never used the indoor pool or spa area but it does seem popular. We recommend the evening entertainment by the Three Tenors tribute group which we enjoyed watching in the pool bar. We would definitely recommend this hotel, although for families it does not have anything for young children except a small toddler pool,
Good but very disappointed with Breakfast managers attitude and demeanour
The hotel and staff were amazing. The breakfast hotel female manager needs to refresh her customer skills - very sharp. The staff sadly seem to not relax around her. Customer / resident experience should be key. I do appreciate hospitality is tough but her attitude and attitude was not a good look as front of house.
