Puente Real

Myself and my wife stayed at this hotel fir 9 nights . We arrived at 10 .30 pm we had been travelling since dinner, we checked in a reception the young girl behind the desk started checking us in we asked could we get some food and water. She just said no the restaurant was closed and the is a vender machine over there for your water.at that point I informed her we had been travelling all day she shuged her shoulders and turned away .at that point a French lady was stood at reception and informed me that if we hurry we could get some pizza at the pool bar which we did and got a drink no thank to reception.

2 the food was ok you could always make a meal up each night just about.

We had tea and coffee in the room we asked the maid for milk because the was none she told me ask at reception so we asked at reception that told me that thay have got no milk so I had to walk and find a shop that was open at 1 am in the morning.

Just to let you all know when I was just outside the hotel walking along the seafront o got my wedding ring stolen by a pick pocket off my finger I told reception about this and thay was not bothered I had to go to jet2holidays rep who was fantastic and gave me all this information I needed so near the hote keep your eyes on you stuff people.

Hotel entertainment is fabulous plenty to join in with and entertainment crew are brilliant

Unfortunately, our 10-night stay at Hotel Puente Real was really disappointing, particularly considering the price we paid and the fact that this is advertised as a 4-star hotel. In our experience, it did not feel like a 4-star standard and felt more like a 3-star hotel at best.

The biggest issue for us was the food. We saw raw meat on multiple occasions, which completely put us off eating at the hotel. We are absolutely not fussy eaters, but when food looks genuinely inedible, we simply aren’t going to eat it. There was also very little choice at breakfast, lunch or dinner. After the first day, we only ate breakfast at the hotel and essentially survived on toast. We ended up eating out for the whole holiday, which added a significant amount to the cost of an already expensive holiday.

There were also some hygiene issues during our stay. On the first day, my boyfriend went to the toilet near the restaurant and there had been a bathroom accident which had clearly not been cleaned up. On another occasion, we saw someone being very sick around the pool area. While the latter may obviously not have been the hotel’s fault, combined with everything else, it didn’t exactly leave us feeling confident about the overall cleanliness. From what we heard from other people there was definitely D+V going around the hotel - another reason why we didn’t eat there. No surprise really when the hand soap was just shower gel? We went out and bought a big hand sanitiser to use as felt we couldn’t touch anything without getting sick.

The room itself was fine, but the bathroom had visible rust and mould. The housekeeping was particularly disappointing. During our entire 10-night stay, our room was never properly cleaned — the beds were made, but that was it. Our cups were never changed and we didn’t receive fresh towels despite following the instructions in the bathroom to leave towels in the bath when we wanted them replaced. Instead, dirty, wet towels were simply folded up and put back where the clean towels should have been. Over a 10 night stay I would’ve thought bed could’ve been changed and floors mopped.

We had to go to reception ourselves to ask for fresh towels and even toilet roll. When I mentioned to the man at reception that the cleaners were folding up our dirty wet towels rather than replacing them, he smirked and laughed and responded, “So what, you just want new towels?” I found this response particularly disappointing and unprofessional.

The restaurant staff were also quite rude on several occasions, although the bar staff were lovely and the bar itself was fine. The pool area was also perfectly adequate.

The entertainment was mediocre and, again, didn’t feel like the standard we’d expect from a 4-star hotel.

The location is fine, right on the beachfront, pool area fine and the bar staff were friendly. Unfortunately, these positives weren’t enough to outweigh the issues we experienced.

For the price we paid, we expected considerably more. The fact that we ended up eating out for almost the entire holiday because we couldn’t face the hotel food was particularly disappointing for an all-inclusive stay.

Overall, we wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend it for anyone expecting a genuine 4-star all-inclusive experience.
