Set at approximately 200 metres from Dunas de Corralejo Park, the idyllic location of this complex offers lots of desert landscapes and dunes, as well as white sandy beaches and turquoise water. Guests will be at only 3km from the centre of Corralejo, where in the Old quarter they can find the remains of a typical fishing village, with numerous restaurants serving freshly caught specialities. Those looking for bars and shopping opportunities can find them in the newer parts of the city. The complex itself also houses an excellent restaurant offering a wide range of dishes and boasting an extensive wine list. Each of the white-washed villas has a stylish décor with high archways, soft lighting and opens to a large poolside terrace. Guests can refresh in the private pools or treat themselves with a visit to the spa and enjoy the Finnish and Turkish sauna and the rain-effect showers.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We were put in Villa 1-2 and it was far from the luxurious standard advertised. To make matters worse, halfway through our stay, our pool turned green and murky and was out of use for 2 days. The hot tub was also out of use as the pump was broken. I could write a lengthy review, but I’m going to let the photos speak for themselves.
I will say this though - don’t expect any meaningful recompense if things go wrong - we were repeatedly told that they ‘don’t give refunds’. Don’t expect any contact with the general manager - she passes messages through the reception staff, taking no interest in resolving complaints adequately. Instead, we were offered ridiculous gestures of goodwill which we refused, their final ‘offer’ being to wipe our bar tab (just over €100 when they suggested this) and a free night ‘when we return next year’. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thankfully, we had booked using our credit card and were able to make a claim through them. We found out today that we are getting a refund of 20% of our overall bill (€660). This is just shy of the €700 partial refund that we suggested was reasonable when we emailed a formal complaint to Bahiazul during our stay.
I hope they are sorry now. If they had treated us fairly, then I wouldn’t be posting this review, and I also wouldn’t have filled in the ‘Hoja de Reclamacions’ (the official Spanish complaints form) which we ensured was registered at the Municipal Office before we left the island. We appreciate that things can go wrong, but the mark of a reputable company is how they deal with reasonable customers who express legitimate dissatisfaction.
Please consider our photos before booking this accommodation. We worked hard all year to pay for this holiday.
We have visited 5 times over the last decade! Amazing villas! Great service! Recomnend paying for breakfast & pool heating. We have never found anywhere else that comes close to the luxury & privacy. Although it's away from town, just pick up your phone in the villa & request a taxi & it arrives in minutes. Around 7 euros to town. Best restaurants in town- La Tasca for amazing steaks & paella. Spice, for the best Indian we've ever had. We love it at Bahiazul & will be returning again & again!
We stayed here for 8 days as a family of five with three children and had a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was exceptional. Although our flight meant we checked in very late, the hotel had thoughtfully prepared a boxed dinner with sandwiches, fruit and yoghurt for us. It was a much-appreciated gesture after a long journey and set the tone for the excellent service we received throughout our stay.
The reception team, security staff, restaurant staff, and housekeeping were all genuinely friendly, professional, and always willing to help. Any requests or issues were dealt with promptly and efficiently.
Having our own private pool was a fantastic addition and one of the highlights of the trip. Our children absolutely loved it and spent hours in the water every day. The pool was cleaned whenever we requested during our stay, which we really appreciated. We also opted to have the pool heated. While this comes at an additional cost, we felt it was well worth it, as the water would have been far too cold to enjoy otherwise.
The breakfast and dinner buffets offered an excellent variety of dishes, with plenty of vegetarian options available, so there was always something for everyone in the family.
The hotel is set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings, yet it was still easy to get to the main attractions by taxi. Reception was always happy to arrange cabs, even at the eleventh hour, and they were incredibly helpful in organising day trips, making everything completely hassle-free.
A special thank you to Anthony, who went above and beyond to ensure a birthday cake was delivered on time for my husband's birthday despite my delayed reply to his email. We also really appreciated the complimentary bottle of red wine, which was a thoughtful gesture and made the celebration even more special.
The only areas where we feel there is room for improvement are that parts of the villa are looking a little tired and would benefit from refurbishment. The beds were also less comfortable than we expected from a four-star resort and were quite creaky at times.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay. The outstanding service, warm hospitality, family-friendly facilities and beautiful surroundings far outweighed the minor shortcomings. We felt incredibly well looked after and would happily return. Great memories from a fabulous holiday!
Absolutely loved this place!
We are typically used to the huge all inclusive Turkish resorts with activities going on everywhere, and this was a completely different change of vibe and pace for us.
Quiet, serene, peaceful with a gorgeous aesthetic which relaxed you from arrival. Airport transfer took about 35mins, and we were the first stop.
We stayed in a 3 bedroom royal villa, as a family of 5 late July. Villa number was 3-8.
The aspect was south west facing and we loved getting the sun in the pool area. Pool was heated and never felt cold. Air con throughout.
Towels are a plenty, and replaced every two days. You get an oven, microwave, fridge freezer , dishwasher, cooker, utensils crockery, dishwasher tablets, bin bags, dish washing liquid, even toothbrushes and toothpaste ! TVs in the bedrooms and the lounge, free WiFi and netflix runs perfectly but remember to log out when you checkout or the next guests will have your netflix profile on the TV .
Rooftop terrace is beautiful, spacious, with a jacuzzi , dining area and large beds. Evenings and nights here are a must staring at the sky, we often enjoyed our morning coffees here too.
Breakfast and lunch is served in the main restaurant, and there are plenty of options. One thing I would say is any vegetarian options should be labelled with a 'V' , it's not a big thing in Spain it seems.
The staff are really really helpful, always happy. The cleaners do a thorough clean every two days, and the pool and jacuzzi cleaners turned up twice in our week to clean the water. Our dishwasher wasn't working as it should (no heat), I reported it, the next day we came back to a brand new dishwasher!
One thing to note, it's a calm resort, hardly any noise and is built for peace and calm. You get your villa, the main restaurant and bar, a pool table in an outdoor social area with some live singers at evening dinner sometimes and that's it.
If a busy, hyper energy and activity filled resort , with a large community pool and water slides with aqua aerobics and evening entertainment shows with late night discos etc is your thing then this may not be your cup of tea.
We hired a car from CICAR , never driven on the right side of the road, but got the hang of it after a day and driving here is really easy. No traffic , no traffic lights, everyone drives with no aggression and at the speed limit. Roads are quiet and easy to get around.
There are two supermarkets 5 mins walk away, the car helped get the shopping back. Prices are cheaper than the UK, just !
We drove to Correlejo town centre a few times, parked for free in the car park just past the water park opposite Mata souvenirs. Always a space and free 24 hours. From there you can easily walk the entire strip which is full of shops, souvenirs and cafes, and to the two small sandy beaches which run alongside the strip too.
We drove to the sand dunes national reservation area (10mins) parked up on the roadside FV104 with everyone else, and walked across the dunes for 5 mins to the stunning beach and Grandes Playa Correlejo. This is a must visit beach, the sands are white and the sea turquoise. Like something off a postcard. If it's a very windy day though, sit in the small stone built shelters, they're a godsend.
We visited the water park (10mins drive), was great fun, lots of slides for kids and adults.
We also drove to the harbour and jumped on a water taxi across to Lobos island which has a population of 4! Here we visited a charming village with the most stunning sea and beach , and my son and wife hiked up to the volcano crater which took them about an hour in total.
Tips: You can walk up the volcano crater directly behind the hotel in about 15 mins up and 15 mins down. We did it with a 4 year old. But it can be windy up top. Lovely views .
The climate is interesting .. around 27-29 degrees, the sun is strong and will burn, but the constant breeze is really good. Some days though the wind can be strong 25-30mph and on others it's perfect 10-15mph.
We hope to return, thank you to all the staff for making our stay wonderful 😊!
This is a beautiful and peaceful resort. Couldn't have asked for anything better. The villa was amazing, had everything you could possibly want . Every second day the cleaners came in and the pool was cleaned too . All the staff were very friendly the cleaners , groundsman, the pool cleaner, the restaurant staff and reception staff and couldn't forget the security guy . The grounds are kept immaculate. So peaceful you could hear a pin drop . Would definitely return. You do have to get a taxi into centre . There is a Lidl and a supermarket within 5 mins walk . But id your looking for a really chilled out holiday this is amazing .
