In the spectacular dunes in the north of Fuerteventura, Spain, stands the Hotel Riu Palace Tres Islas. The magnificent building enjoys a seafront location on Playa de Corralejo beach and boasts beautiful sea views. With its crystal clear waterand kilometres of sandy beaches it's not surprising that some of these dunes have been used by photographers and for advertisements on TV. Besides the excellent temperatures and atmosphere, the Palace offers you holidays where you can enjoy a well deserved rest during your stay. It includes two fresh water swimming pools, a solarium terrace, hot tub, sauna, gym and the “Renova Spa” health and beauty centre with a range of different treatments and massages. There's no better way to taste the typical flavours of the Canary Islands than by sampling the menus carefully prepared for you by our chefs.
Yes — definitely too many “exceptionals”! I’d make it sound a little more natural and less repetitive:
I went to Riu Tres Islas with two friends for a little two-night break, and we had such a lovely stay.
We each booked our own room, which was the perfect size for one person. I have stayed here before, but I have to say I was particularly impressed this time.
The real standout for us was the staff. From reception to the buffet and the à la carte restaurant, they were absolutely wonderful — friendly, welcoming, attentive and professional. They really do make a huge difference to the whole experience.
I’m not normally a huge fan of buffets, but as buffets go, this was very good, with plenty of choice. The wine was actually quite decent for an all-inclusive and the cocktails were lovely too.
The à la carte restaurant was a real highlight. It wasn’t open the last time I stayed, so this was a first for me, and we were really impressed. The food was excellent and, once again, the staff were fantastic.
The whole hotel is also spotlessly clean.
The hotel is due to close in October for six or seven months for a refurbishment, and I do think it will benefit from it as some areas are looking quite tired. But that honestly didn’t take away from our enjoyment of the two days at all. We had a great little break.
Living in Lanzarote, it is so easy for us to pop over to Fuerteventura for a couple of nights, and we will definitely be back. I’m really looking forward to seeing Riu Tres Islas after the refurbishment.
But most of all, a huge compliment to the staff. They really made our stay and are a credit to the hotel. EXCEPTIONAL.
It was our third stay at the Riu Palace Tres Islas as we had found the Oliva Beach quality dropping recently, however in common with the Oliva Beach, and our other favourite, the Buena Vista in Tenerife, they have a very relaxed attitude to flies and food. At one point serving fresh salmon, a large fly was wandering around the side of the tray and the cook was just stood there; it was only when I waved my hand that he reacted and did the same. They have no UV lighting subtly placed around the edges of any restaurant (in any of the three hotels that I mentioned) and as such fresh food, is not always so fresh!
Also for the first time, there ere constant issues with the lifts, with one morning all four out of order, and whilst we have become used to one of the three in the Oliva Beach always out of order, we expect better at this hotel.
We recently stayed at this hotel as a family group consisting of my wife, daughter, 7-year-old grandson and myself, and we had a wonderful holiday.
The biggest highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the staff. Every member of the team was consistently friendly, welcoming and helpful. Whether it was the reception staff, waiters, bar staff or housekeeping team, everyone greeted us with a smile and genuinely seemed to care that guests were having a good time. Their positive attitude and willingness to help really made our holiday special.
We stayed on an all-inclusive basis and were very pleased with the food and drinks on offer. The menu was varied throughout our stay, the food was freshly prepared, and the overall quality was excellent. There was plenty of choice to suit different tastes, and we always found something enjoyable to eat.
The hotel itself is a little dated in places, but we understand that a major refurbishment is planned for later this year. Given the excellent service and facilities already available, we can only imagine how impressive it will be once the renovation is complete.
The only issue we experienced was the reserving of sunbeds. Guests were getting up very early to place towels on beds, despite the hotel website clearly stating that this is not allowed. To be fair, the staff did their best to help us find alternative beds whenever possible and handled the situation professionally. While it was frustrating, it certainly did not spoil our holiday.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would like to thank all of the staff for their hard work and kindness. They are a real credit to the hotel and were the main reason our holiday was so enjoyable. We would happily recommend this hotel and look forward to seeing the improvements following the refurbishment.
