Lovely 7 nights stay and will be back!

Had the best 7 night stay here and we are all in agreement that we will be back! We were in a My Favourite Club double room with sea view (we could see a bit of it!). The room was cleaned everyday and beds made up. The welcome mini bar was great. Room was a nice size for the 3 of us. I was a bit of a fussy eater so stuck to mostly the same food although there was always plenty of options to choose from on offer. We arrived at 11pm at night and was given access to the restaurant for food and drinks which we thought was so accommodating. Our welcome from both the My Favourite Club reception and main reception was lovely, they were so just so nice and helpful which was very welcome after a long day of travelling. It was very windy the week we were there but still lovely and warm. My Favourite Club lounge was brilliant for chilling with a vast range of drinks to help yourself to as well as a good selection of snacks. The temperature of the pools took our breath away, literally, but was ok once you were in. Didn’t experience the entertainment but the staff are hard working and always tried to engage us in activities, but not in a pushy way, so always felt included. Like other reviews, there are bits of the hotel that could do with a bit sprucing up but this didn’t put us off loving our stay.

A relaxing holiday

We're just back from a lovely week here, and we really enjoyed our holiday. Location - the views of the coastline from the hotel are stunning. The wind makes the heat bearable, and it's just bliss lying on the sunbeds and relaxing. A major bonus for us was the fact that the pools and the terrace area were never crowded; we never had a problem finding sunbeds and the whole area was spotless. The beach is a ten minute walk away and is absolutely stunning, but certainly a steep walk back to the hotel ( helps burn the calories though!) Atmosphere- the hotel( as made clear in the brochure) is predominantly geared towards French visitors, and yes, the entertainment team were mainly French but were just as welcoming to us as to other nationalities. The evening entertainment was disappointing, as during our week stay, there was only one professional act ( a magician). The remainder of the time was the French animation team and it was fun for kids, but pretty awful for adults. We upgraded to My Favourite Club, which was well worth the extra money. The lounge area is fantastic, being able to help yourself to a range of drinks and snacks, and also the beautiful terrace which boasts a beautiful view of the area. You could also choose to use one of the sunbeds up here, although we didn't bother since they were so plentiful nearer the pool. We were in room 6102 - which is both close to the hotel main pool area, but also situated towards the end of the row of rooms, meaning we had an amazing view of the sea, beach and surrounding area. I have to say that the air con was disappointing...it was very weak and I felt uncomfortably warm at night, such a shame because the room itself was lovely. Restaurant- there is a wide variety of food with something for everyone, and the fish was excellent! The salads were fresh and plentiful. Some of the meat dishes were less impressive, for example over-cooked pork loin or gristly beef. That said, the roast lamb was exceptional- it was tender and served in huge, thick steak-like portions! The desserts were ok, but far too many cheap mousse based concoctions for our liking. A bonus was the fact that wine was provided in bottles rather than on tap.Breakfast was great, absolutely everything you could need and really loved the pastries on offer. We loved eating on the terrace, it was comfortable, situated poolside and hardly any insects, which was brilliant! The restaurant is somewhat let down by the staff, many of whom seem to resent the presence of guests, and I can honestly say not one member of staff smiled. I am fluent in Spanish, and tried to engage some of the staff in friendly conversation but it was not wanted or appreciated. I found this odd- we've traveled widely and it's unusual to encounter such indifferent staff. Having said that, they performed their jobs well, and plates were cleared promptly etc. Overall, this holiday was perfect for what we needed ( pure relaxation) and hopefully the hotel will take on board feedback, as we'd like to return in the future.

Awful Alua villa Hotel DONT GO!

just came back from my stay at this hotel, i would overall rate it a 1/5 star. This isn’t just due to the hotel but also the location as there isn’t much around if anything at all however with reading reviews before booked i didn’t see as an issue as i presumed the all inclusive would be enough. Main issues was with the food and aircon issues not only in the room but in every other area in the hotel. The Breakfast however is lovely, but it slowly gets worse throughout the day lunch is crap and is always the same options and tasteless however snack bar was much better. Then tea buffet was vile same options as lunch but with more meaty options which included animals like rabbit goat veal. They often had pork or beef but were very slimey fatty pieces. one evening they were serving chicken schnitzel which you could see the breadcrum coating was missing exposing what looked like raw chicken that hadn’t even touched an oven. Rooms were nice however split bed and insect issues including ants constantly around and in the sink, ants on bedside tables so couldn’t leave sweets or drinks out even if it was wrapped and flys that would fly in from under the entrance door which bite. Aircon was ok first two nights but as the hotel got busier the aircon got worse to the point it made no difference at all when i told the reception she said it was an issue throughout the hotel due to the heat bare in mind it was 25/27 degrees so nothing too out of the ordinary for fueventura and couldn’t provide with any fans. The entertainment wasn’t the best no professional acts in evening apart from one which was very good other evenings just included the entertainment team dressing in fancy dress and attempting a performances which i think you would enjoy more if you spoke french spanish or german however they did attempt to translate but seemed like they weren’t as friendly towards the brits in particular one evening was an all in white evening which everyone seemed to have gotten the memo apart from the english people. Therefore i wouldn’t be coming back or recommend but hopefully try to deter others from booking im not someone who has never complained or wrote a bad review before but i dont want any one else having to face the disappointment after saving and looking forward to a nice holiday and being very disappointed with what you got i’ve staying in cheaper and less star hotel which i have always enjoyed apart from this one.

Fresh, just been there

Location very nice, very understaffed place. Room cleaning is on the good level. You need tokens to take a drink and then return plastic cup to get token back ..... There was a bad smell in the pool area, spa and dining room. Room: mold in the bathroom, mosquitoes, flies, and there was even a cockroach.

In general it is very weak 4 stars, I wouldn't even say it's a 3 star.

One word Rubbish

I did not like the Alua Village at all. The hotel is at the top of a hill and to go to your room was like doing a mini marathon everyday. The beach is at least 20 mins walk away down a very steep hill. The food was terrible and the quality was poor. My biggest concern was the flies in the restaurant . This is very unhygienic and put me off alot of the food. There was not alot of choice and i found it difficult at every meal to fine something to eat. To be truthful if i could have come home on day one i would have . Entertainment was also lacking and my husband and i where in bed every night for 9pm as the eveningswhere boring .
