One of the worst hotels we've ever stayed in! If you're thinking of booking, don't bother! We checked in 3 nights ago, they asked if we'd been before, we said yes, so we were not given any information, not even where our room was, and left with 4 cases, a baby and a 7 year old to find our own way! Got to the room, very dated, ants everywhere, even in the beds. Asked for a room change (happy to pay for an upgrade), to be told there were no other rooms available. You can't get bottles of water, we were told to refill the glass bottle of water that was left in the room. The water dispenser in our block does not work. We need the water to make bottles for our 11 month old baby. First day, we couldn't get a sunbed anywhere as they were all taken. We ended up sat on the floor. Day 3, had symptoms of food poisoning. Day 4, our belongings were taken off the sunbeds when we went to the room to change they baby's nappy - as there are no baby changing facilities near the pool. I was told someone has to be at the beds the whole time or towels will be removed. Also, got stuck trying to get back into the hotel from the beach, as the gate was not working. We were waiting for a long time for it to be resolved, stood in the blazing sun with no shade with both children crying. We have asked reception to fix our blocked shower, this has not happened yet, the bathroom floods every time we have a shower. Massive queues at meal times. Safe doesn't work in the room. Minibar doesn't get re-stocked. We were given a bottle of antibiotics spray for the ants. Gutted we've got another week here. We came last year and it wasn't this bad, but that was out of school holidays. It is defo not equipped for the summer holiday demand.
What a fantastic resort.
My wife & I took our 6 year old Son to the resort for 2 weeks and I couldn’t really find fault with anything. Ok, there was the odd cockroach in the restaurant at breakfast, or around the place.
But our room was spotless and well kept by housekeeping. The pool area was clean, the communal spaces were great. I went to the gym 5 times and no issue at all. We also took on a few classes as a couple, and our son attended the Mymo club and it was all brilliant. The staff were all very helpful and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble.
If I were to find any fault (and it isn’t a fault) it would be the location - you’re slightly limited on places to walk to, there are a couple of beach bars nearby but that’s all.
Everything considered:
Would we come back? - yes, in a heartbeat.
Just returned from a week here at the start of August. We enjoyed our holiday but would not return.
Good things:
Not so great things:
For the record, I do not consider myself particularly fussy or hard to please. And I appreciate that we probably visited at the hotel’s busiest time. And that I chose it because it was more competitively priced than other all inclusives. But TUI Magic Life was not for me.
Brilliant hotel with so much to do. Make sure to download the magic life app to make the most of the activities! My favourite was wine yoga and the pool aerobics!
Staff all friendly and helpful. Best bar staff as they are so quick and keep the queues down.
No problem getting a sunbed as the staff remove any unattended towels between 8.30 and 9.30. Stops having to get up at 6am for a chance of a space. There were free sunbeds all day but go before 9am if you want shade. As long as one of your family is sat with the beds its fine!
Evening entertainment great! Shows or just chill in the bars! The sundowner Evening was brilliant.
Food is varied and fresh. Queues do form for the pizzas and snack bar but its because its made fresh. Tried the Italian and Spanish and enjoyed both. Just ask at the desk if you cant get a booking on the app.
Thanks for such a relaxing weeks stay with my family. I would recommend it to all ages.
We stayed here for 2 weeks as a family of 3 at the end of July. We stayed in block 17 on the first floor. The room was nice and big with good beds and shower, towels and bedding were changed regularly with the maid keeping the room nice and clean. The view from the room was stunning. Uninterrupted views of the ocean, well worth the upgrade. The pools were lovely and big and very clean. Looked like they'd been recently retiled. The management also removed towels from unattended sunbeds in the morning, meaning there was never the usual early morning rush. This was a massive plus and should happen in every hotel. It meant I could get up go for a nice long walk on the beach have breakfast and still have plenty of choice of beds around the pool. Although ones in the shade were more in demand. The food was good with plenty of variety in the main Magico restaurant. It did get very busy in the evening with people queuing from about 7pm . But these moved pretty quickly. It was a shame there was no outdoor seating but understandable with the very strong winds. We spent most of our evening in the Plaza bar or the Wunderbar. The Plaza bar was great for a boogie and the Wunderbar more quiet for a game of cards. It maybe would be nice to have another bar somewhere in-between. The bar staff were the quickest and most efficient I've come across in a hotel. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would definitely return. It's not perfect but for a 4 star all inclusive in a stunning location it's brilliant value.
