This family-friendly apartment complex is situated in the lovely fishing village of Morro Jable on the south coast of the popular holiday island of Fuerteventura. It features a pool, children's pool, snack bar, lobby bar and restaurant. The wonderful sandy beach is just a few minutes away; the harbour where there are ferry connections to the neighbouring island of Tenerife can be reached within a short stroll.
The good things first… The hotel rooms are spacious and clean. We had a lovely smiley cleaner who made our beds each day and swept the floors. Whilst there was no air con in our room (they seem to be reserved for Spanish guests at the front of the hotel which are alongside the busy main road which also isn’t ideal) the ceiling fans did help move the air round to make it possible to sleep. There is a 10 euro deposit for the remotes so I would definitely advise getting these. Beds are on the firm side but comfortable and there is a fridge to keep your water cool. The location is excellent - 3 minute walk to the stunning beach. Beautiful sunrise behind the lighthouse if you are up early enough! There are many supermarkets, shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel is prepared very well in the mornings - pool and surfaces are cleaned daily and I saw a member of staff check the water quality at regular intervals which was reassuring. The restaurant runs well, no problems getting a table at any time in the day and plates cleared away fairly quickly. The beer (San Miguel) was excellent and we didn’t mind paying the 1 euro deposit as it kept us mindful of remembering to look after our cups - they were mostly replaced by new cups when revisiting the bar. Glasses were provided in the restaurant so no need to take them with you everywhere! A range of decent soft drinks are also available. The animation guy ran a fab aqua gym session each day which was very popular and enjoyed by everyone. We didn’t struggle to find somewhere to sit or lay by the pool.
Now, this all sounds very positive and there are some strengths, however there were many occasions where we feel the hotel fell very short which need raising and addressing…
We felt that the quality of the food deteriorated over the time we were there leaving us with little choice in making a meal, especially so at dinner time. Going to the restaurant seemed to be a bit of a chore and seeing the cheap cuts of meat and fish (I was shocked to see pigs feet as an option on one of the evenings!) almost became unbearable. There was always something to eat eg. Salad, chips, pasta, bread etc if we couldn’t find something but I would have expected a better range of options to cater for different nationalities. I would imagine it was very difficult for parents with children and ensuring that they were sufficiently fed. Many of the guests did appear to enjoy what they were eating but to my taste the food was repetitive and far too salty. The juice should come with a health warning as it’s like drinking pure syrup. A lot of the available cocktails were also made using these so we avoided them.
We understand that there are safety reasons for not allowing inflatables in the pool but I really must say that I was absolutely appalled by the behaviour of the ‘lifeguard’ in how she spoke to English guests in particular. I would say that it bordered on harassment and bullying, constantly patrolling the pool like a prison guard, she asked a young boy (who was very fair in complexion) to take his sun hat off. This is absolutely unacceptable on any level and I was pleased to see the parent refuse to take the hat off whilst supervising her son. As teachers, we were appalled to see her confiscate lilos (bought by paying customers) and hide them out of the way and not allow the children to have fun - what we saw, the children were all very well behaved and unfairly treated. There was no entertainment available and so they made friends with each other. A bit of laughter and splashing doesn’t hurt anyone. Her job is to ensure the safety of guests not to parent and put children on timeout for having a bit of fun on their holiday. The constant watching, picking on people for vaping outside the designated smoking areas all felt very uncomfortable. No wonder everyone is walking around like they are having a miserable time which is a real shame.
There needs to be better pest control - lots of ants, flies, cockroaches and even mice about.
We are realistic about our expectations for this holiday. The hotel would be excellent value for money if it focused on providing a better service for its guests. We are leaving feeling like our custom has not been appreciated and the hotel has not been able to show itself in its best light. We would not come back to this hotel again unless serious changes are made to customer relations. Most importantly, allowing holiday makers to actually enjoy themselves.
So if your English and looking for a cheap getaway with children I’d avoid this hotel like the plague!! Can’t have floats, diving toys or even a beach ball in the pool! Lifeguards put your kids on time out and ONLY the English get told off!!! Spanish can smoke by the loungers but English get told to move to the smoking area! That’s just to start! We’ve also had other nationality children trying to break into our room which isn’t hard! Watching through the windows at us getting dressed and when complained nothing was done! Rooms been cleaned once in 5 days we’ve been here! Toilets leak, ants invading the room when we first arrived and we’ve been told it’s because we have food in the room yet we didn’t. Food has no selection at all! Yesterday’s dinner menu was either chickpeas, mackerel or pigs foot 🤢. Have to put down a deposit to use cups! Entertainment is twice a week. Have about 30 sun loungers around the pool so doesn’t even cater to half the people staying here!!! Won’t be coming back ever again! I wouldn’t even give it 1 star!
We have stayed with this hotel chain on multiple occasions and have never previously encountered service of this standard. Upon check-in the first day appeared satisfactory. Issues arose immediately thereafter. There was no hairdryer provided in the room. Reception required a €10 deposit plus a daily charge of €1.50 simply to obtain one. Charging guests for a basic amenity that should be standard is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the hotel’s priorities. Later the same evening we discovered the air conditioning unit was leaking. We reported the fault the following morning. Staff eventually attended in the evening, inspected the unit, and left without resolving the issue — the leak continued. When we raised the matter again, we were informed that a repair would take a minimum of two days. No alternative accommodation, temporary solution, or compensation was offered. The sole option presented was to rent a fan for an additional €10 deposit. In summary: essential amenities are monetised, a clear technical fault is left unresolved for days, and the only response is further charges. This level of indifference and poor problem-handling is entirely unacceptable and stands in stark contrast to our previous experiences with the brand.
I would not recommend this hotel if you have kids and are expecting to have a lovely time with family . We spend 11 night in this hotel and I will not come back again for different reasons Negative reasons •no air con and those ciling fans didn’t make any difference with the heat and we couldn’t leave the back door open so the night were awful •we’re told that the rooms are cleaned only twice a week which was absolutely ridiculous • when I complained to the receptionist the only thing he said is that he is not the manager and he totally ignored me which I found very disrespectful • The lifeguard is the person who really ruined our mood . My children were told off for playing in the pool . I understand the roles but they have to be implemented for everyone one not only for English speakers . I understand Spanish perfectly well and I found disgusting the way how she was speaking to Spanish speakers about the English kids . My son is 7 and was told he needs armbands to swim in the big pool . I got them and the next day she rudely came to tell me off that he can’t swim , I said to her I’m with him and still not allowed. Absolutely ridiculous. My family and some English families as well got a warning that our kids are not behaving around the pool which made me furious ( again I want to highlight the fact that I speak and understand very well Spanish but she didn’t know ) . Went to complain. Nothing changed •we tried to be out of the hotel as much as we could as my anxiety was making me sick because of that place The food is something else . It is very repetitive and we spend eating out most of the time. Not great when you pay all inclusive and ended spending a lot of money because we got sick looking at the same things lunch and dinner . Mainly one dish changed. • kids entertainment is 0 • most of the evening are totally boring apart from 2 times when there was a singer
Positives • location to the beach is the best • barman by the pool absolutely amazing • the cleaner Jahidi was the most amazing person ever • the rooms are spacious and we had a room downstairs facing the pool •never had an issue finding sunbeds • watergym boy tries his best but needs to change the songs as they get boring after 3 day
Just arrived home after staying at the hotel for a week. It really isn’t as bad as a lot of the reviews say it is- however I do think there are a few areas they can improve to make everyone’s experience better. Our room was on the top floor facing the pool. Great view. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. You can rent the remote for the ceiling fans from reception for €10 which you get back at the end. They work really well but it was still very hot at night, we had to sleep with the balcony door open. Our room was only cleaned once on our 6th day, we had to go and keep asking for towels & toilet paper which was slightly annoying. The pool area is small however we found a sun lounger every day no problems. There is a life guard who watches everything like a hawk but she didn’t make us feel uncomfortable at all, some of the rules are enforced for a reason! They have a singer twice a week however we were quite bored in the evenings- they could do with playing some music but we had no problems going out and finding a cocktail. The food was very limited but everything we tried was good quality. They change a few things up every day but be prepared to eat the same things. Breakfast was the same but again tasty. We decided to go out for food a few nights which we saw other guests doing also. The drinks were pretty good, nice beer on tap but the spirits were cheap and didn’t taste great. Overall we had a really nice time, all the staff we came across were helpful and friendly. We heard a lot of people complaining about the smallest things whilst there which is not really fair on the hotel, it’s a 3 star definitely not 5! A lot of the guests seem very agitated for no reason. Next time I come I’d probably stay in the Robinson hotel opposite as it looked very lively but if you’re looking for somewhere cheap and relaxing this hotel is perfect.
