Aesthetics over substance
This was our first holiday with our baby and we were left feeling disappointed. The superficial aesthetics are the main priority of the hotel, with many other aspects letting it down. Definitely not 5* as advertised by TUI.
There are many hidden charges, even if you are all inclusive. The bars stop serving all drinks at 11. Due to our arrival time, this meant that we had to pay for a drink after travelling all day. There’s also charges for freshly made cocktails. The only ones available are from a machine and lack quality. The selection of house spirits and other drinks is also limited in comparison with other hotels we have stayed at.
There is also no air con anywhere in the hotel which made it difficult to keep our baby settled. The room was very hot at night, despite having the failing aircon system on.
The worst part of our stay was the service we received at reception, namely a member of staff called Veronica. She was very aggressive and rude when we enquired about late check out, to the point where she made fists and threw them up towards me. She was extremely unhelpful and it was the worst service I have ever had at a hotel. I would recommend trying to book late check out prior to arrival if you have a late flight as we were told that there was no availability, despite enquiring at the earliest time we could. This meant that we were unable to access a kettle to make our baby’s bottles
Wonderful holiday!
Wonderful place, spotless, the food was amazing and varied and something for everyone. The pools were great, shallow enough in some places for my little one to splash around in. He loved the slides. Entertainment was good. Just a brilliant place. We were worried about the AC because we'd read lots of complaints but although it wasn't freezing it kept the room cool enough to be able to sleep very well. Wonderful holiday!
No Air Con Anywhere
I booked this hotel as a suprise trip for my husband’s birthday. TUI advertised the hotel as 5 star so I was quite suprised when we pulled up to 4 stars on the hotels huge sign!! The reception area, rooms and restaurants are all very aesthetically pleasing as per the images online. The bathrooms had not been updated where we stayed in Tabaiba. There is NO Aircon anywhere in the hotel!! It is boiling!! There is a vent in the room and heating / cooling controls which omit very little air. The hotel do not provide fans. Most of the bar areas are self service which is very impersonal. This hotel definitely isn’t 5* and we’ve stayed in much better 4*’s There is nowhere nearby but, buses are regular and taxis readily available. We did walk into Maspalomas which took around 25 minutes along main roads. The à la carte restaurants are buffets but, it is nice to be away from the main buffet and have drinks served. The food in general was very good, lots of choice all day. There are plenty of sunbeds available each day but, the coarse sand that they rest on is quite unpleasant to walk across. The adults pool and H20 bar is nice for a peaceful break away from other activities. One day our room was not made up, we left the card for the towels and sheets to be replaced the next day but, one of the new pillows and towels were stained! Not nice. We requested that our safe be opened on our arrival and for extra pillows, sadly neither happened. We enjoyed visiting Maspalomas beach and dunes and took a bus to Puerto de Mogan which was very nice. Sadly I would not recommend Tabaiba Princess.
Lovely hotel.. but no air conditioning
I felt a need to write this review so others can judge whether to book … the hotel is lovely, very clean, staff are friendly.. food is good… BUT!!! the air conditioning is unacceptable.. it doesn’t work.. all throughout the hotel and especially the rooms .. getting ready in the evening you’re just sweating.. during the night pillows are drenched in sweat.. I’m not overstating this .. such a shame as because of this I won’t be returning..

Lisette, the receptionist was amazing. friendly, helpful and caring. she made sure we were safe and feelin okay, and whenever we spilt somethin or did something wrong, she was extremely helpful and friendly.
