- Corallium Dunamar by Lopesan Hotels

This beautiful hotel stands in a privileged spot on the well-known Playa del Inglés in the south of Gran Canaria and about 20 minutes' drive from the airport. An incomparable location that offers guests exceptional views of the Canary Island coast, as well as of the six-kilometre-long golden sand beaches. The hotel offers guest rooms which are perfectly decorated with soothing colours and are equipped with all the convenient amenities needed for a comfortable and memorable stay. The property is surrounded by charming gardens and refreshing, freshwater swimming pools. All swimming pool areas have beach beds, sunshades for guests to sunbathe or just relax by the pool. The hotel restaurant service offers delicious international cuisine, cooked with fresh ingredients.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

We have recently returned from a 2 week stay the Corallium Dunamar By Lopesan Hotel in Playa del Ingles, which we booked for my Husband's 70th Birthday. We upgraded to All Inclusive Plus which offers a wider range of Soft & Branded International Alcoholic drinks and cocktails and here the problems started. We asked for Jamesons Whiskey with Dry Ginger and were told we would have to pay for the Dry Ginger. We would also have to pay for Jack Daniels, Pornstar Martini, Irish Coffee, Frappé with Baileys and if we wanted nuts with the drinks we would have to pay 2 Euros for the nuts. We could have a meal in the Al a Carte Restaurant once every 5 days. We did have a meal (some meals on the menu were payable) in the restaurant on my Husbands 70th birthday, but it was disappointing/nothing special. We also spoke to other Guests who had upgraded to UNIQUE and were still having to pay for drinks and meals . The food in the Food Garden (main Restaurant) was not up to the standard we would have expected from a 4* hotel. It was repetitive, luke warm, and there was little choice, overall it was very disappointing. So much so that we ate out on several occasions. The hotel gave us a bottle of Cava for my Husband's Birthday which we did'nt drink until a few days later, so we asked for an Ice Bucket and were told we would have to pay for this if it was brought to the room, so we asked for one in the restaurant. The location of the Hotel is good, close to the beach, but we have to say that it is in need of some renovation. When you pay almost £5k for a two week holiday you really expect better. It was really disappointing and we would definitely not go back again.
There was supposed to be no loud music at the swimming pool, there is loud music at the swimming pool Of 3 elevators in the 15 story hotel .. 2 are out of order The bar at the swimming pool won't serve if you are in swimming clothes.. If you want to smoke... You must leave the hotel grounds and so on
The hotel has a perfect location, with a beautiful setting. However, the buffet-style food is not of 4-star quality. The food is very repetitive, with a poor selection and is lukewarm. The dessert is the same almost every day, with slices of very similar, poor-quality desserts, and the fruit selection looked very dry. We asked for bottled water at dinner and were told that only carafe-style water was available. No sealed bottle? Such a shame, because everything else was perfect, but food is very important, especially when you are paying a 4-star price
The hotel was in a great location with the promenade and beach a short walk across the road, and easy access out through a gate located on the first floor. There wasn’t much of an atmosphere during the day, but the evenings livened up with some good DJ sets or singers. We booked the unique experience and had a room located on the 11th floor. The view was lovely overlooking the sea and dunes. We had 2 single beds pushed together which was a bit unfortunate but bed was fairly comfortable and pillows nice and plump. The air con in our room was shocking, it had a off button and a high or low button, we had it on high and usually after a day in the sun it’s a blessing to open the door of your room and feel that cold air, but ours felt barely chilled. We complained about it on our second day and a young lady at the desk said it’s because everyone is using it!! And that was the end of that. We also had issues with our shower pressure and it took so long to get warm, which then became scorching hot, so we’d reduce the temperature and then it would go cold again. It was only on our last day that we booked the shower room before we left for our evening flight that we realised just how bad our shower was as this room located on floor 9 had a lovely powerful shower. The room had a coffee machine but no milk, and the fridge was cold but not exceptionally cold. We had a lovely lady who cleaned our room daily and can’t fault her. We could have breakfast in the unique area, which was à la carte, but after trying the canteen on our 3rd morning my husband preferred it for the variety. But we did make use of the unique area during the day for savoury and sweet snacks. The buffet at lunch and dinner was quite disappointing, with not a lot of variety and food barely warm. We ended up going to the unique room at lunch where we had sandwiches etc and took to eating out for dinner which defeats the AI package. The cocktails were programmed from a machine, blended with more ice than necessary and some were so sweet and some quite sharp, the best one in my opinion was the pina colada, the others gave me acid reflux!! We didn’t have a terrible time, but it’s not the best AI hotel we’ve been to which is a shame as we’d heard good things about the Lopesan chain. On our last day checkout was at 12 noon and typically it was a rainy day, so we packed up ready and took a walk to the promenade for last minute souvenirs, we returned to our room at 11.45 and we had been locked out!! Our wrist key had been disconnected, we had to get the cleaner to let us back in for our cases!! A big shout out though to Angelina on the desk, who welcomed us on our first day and advised us throughout the week with a big level of enthusiasm, and knowledge. All in all a nice stay but definitely not a 4 star in my book.
Absolutely amazing hotel and customer service. I went with my mam and they made her experience so special for her birthday. Christina at reception made sure we had the most special time, so extra thank you to her! The hotel is super clean and has perfect location, shops and beach less than a minute away. We done half board but would recommend doing all inclusive or the ‘Unique’ experience which seems to have very good benefits including their own section and bags with logos etc. I would definitely do that next time I visit. Food was great, a good selection of stuff. If you have an allergy you should let the catering team know and they can supply things that otherwise might not be on display in the food hall. We had a sea view room and it was fab. Brilliant atmosphere and amazing hotel all round. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
