We had the best time.
We had the best time at the Gran Canaria Princess. We were worried about the building works and apart from the closed terrace it didn't affect us at all. All the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make our holiday the best. The food was lovely with different things every night. The drink was good too, we were all inclusive. If you wanted branded alcohol you could upgrade but that wasn't necessary. There was never a problem getting a sun lounger because you cannot reserve one with towels before 10am as they are removed. All areas including our room were really clean. This is our third year here and we will be returning in the near future.

work to be done at hotel
I booked a holiday last week to Conaria Princess hotel now i find there is work commencing on the my arrive date i cant be dropped at the hotel because coaches can not get there this doesn't sound like minor work to me could you tell me what actual work is being carried out 18/09/2026 thankyou

Location excellent, entertainment day and evening brilliant, rooms spacious and clean but most of all the food was excellent, the choices amazing. Will be returning soon

Average. Wouldn't Recommend
Overall it fell short of what I’d expect from a 4-star hotel.
Pros
- Large pool with plenty of sunbeds. We never struggled to find one.
- No reserving sunbeds rule seemed to be enforced.
- Pool area is clean and can be very relaxing when quieter.
- Rooms are spacious and clean
- Housekeeping staff were friendly.
- Evening entertainment was provided every night and was generally okay.
Cons
- Construction work affected part of the pool area for our entire stay, with noise, visible works and the restaurant terrace closed. None of this was mentioned at check-in.
- Day passes make the hotel noticeably busier, particularly at weekends, and change the atmosphere from relaxed to much more lively/party-like.
- Despite being advertised as adults-only, children were present with families using day passes on several occasions.
- Food was average overall and the lunch offering looked particularly basic. Anything of substance such as burgers or pizza was an extra charger, even for those on all inclusive plus.
- The All Inclusive/All Inclusive Plus system seems poor value. Even after upgrading, numerous drinks, premium sunbeds and majority of food items at lunch still cost extra.
- Half-board guests are stopped from using the water machine at dinner despite being able to use it at breakfast and during the day. Being expected to pay for basic drinking water with dinner is ridiculous.
- Most staff seemed indifferent and rarely smiled or acknowledged guests.
- Check-in/out was especially poor. We were simply handed a key and paperwork and had to ask where our room was, how to get there and how meal sittings worked.
- No waiter service anywhere, meaning bar queues can be slow when busy.
- Some of the sunbeds are incredibly saggy and need replacing.
I understand renovation work is necessary, but I’d much rather see investment in food quality, customer service, sunbeds and the confusing pricing structure.
