Wonderful stay Marina Suites
A wonderful week spent in Marina Suites. A big bright spacious room with extra bed set up in living area. Didn't impact on our space. Fabulous views of the Marina. Breakfast offered excellent choices and despite being busy at times was always possible to get a table and plenty of staff clearing plates/ tables etc. Ate lunch in the pool bar on 2 occasions and food was excellent. We had a minor issue with an electric socket that wasn't working and once reported was fixed straight away. Our only issues were the sun loungers at the pool and the lack of consistency in removing towels during the day after 45 mins of non use. Occasionally unable to get sun loungers and sometimes they felt a bit on top of one another. Pool itself fabulous. The lifts gave a bit of trouble early in our stay but once resolved that was it! Found all of the staff in every area extremely friendly, warm and professional. Rooms were spotless. Very happy with the standards of cleaning. Would highly recommend the Marina Suites and will most definitely be back!

So different in 12 months …..
Currently here at the moment …… I don’t think I would return.
Rooms have always been amazing, staff continue to be friendly, breakfast is lovely and felt there was a good choice as always.
We came last year and clearly a lot has changed - massive floats are now allowed in the pool - pool is already overcrowded so this does not help.
Sunbeds are packed together - so there is no privacy.
If the hotel is not careful in my opinion it will start to look tired you can already see things starting to look this way e.g door frames broken, paint work not looking as fresh etc
Despite everything though - the biggest put off for me and my family is people vaping round the pool and in some cases smoking. On our second day here it was clear that people were smoking cannabis by the sea with a strong smell coming over the pool area and at night we had to shut windows due to the continued smell - so it was clearly obviously people were smoking it in the hotel - despite speaking the rep he stated he couldn’t police it or do anything about it.
It might be different in low season but don’t think we would now return - which is a shame!!

Room for improvement!
Great location and it was good that the restaurant was open late for those arriving quite late in the evening. Rooms were spacious with nice views. Pool area was a problem with not enough sun beds. There was not enough time (48 minutes) to go for breakfast/lunch together, before having your towel removed! The three lifts were very small, slow with quite long wait times, not helped with one out of order for 5 of the 7 days of our holiday. Staff friendliness varied from outstanding to downright rude! This was our third time in Gran Canaria, would we stop here again, probably not during peak season.

Mediocre hotel
Unfortunately although there are great things about the hotel - very large rooms, great air con in room, good WiFi, great choice at breakfast - the downsides would mean I would return.
Not enough sun beds and small pool.
Small lifts and 1 of 3 not working. No idea where entertainment was - ie where was boules? Should be on the wall where timings are.
Walk into town is 30 mins. Ubers easy.
Hotel said food at the evening meal in the hotel was tapas coming out separately when cooked. Which would have been fine if tapas, but they brought one at a time, let you finish then brought the next! I had fish curry (no one in my party liked fish curry) I ate it all, then next one was fish and chips, that person ate theirs, was taken away then brought the lasagne for another person. V weird. Wouldn’t recommend.
Need pizza or something everyone likes. Pizza to take to the room?

Beautiful Place
Marina Suites lives up to all the positive reviews we have read. We had a fantastic return visit. Our select suite on 8th floor was spacious, clean and had a beautiful view of the Marina. The staff, the pool(very busy), the breakfast and lunches - perfect! Sunbed/ towel policy very tricky but management team working on making it fair for ALL. We will return but will choose a quieter time of year.
