San Agustin

No more boring and monotonous vacations! The best experience of romance and fun is in this modern complex, in the center of the San Agustín seafront. For spectacular views and unforgettable moments, there is nothing like visiting this hotel. It has a fully equipped gym to exercise properly, several areas of outdoor and indoor swimming pools that exceed the expectations of the most demanding tastes, sun baths can be taken at the edge of the pools, on the soft sand of the San Agustin beach or just using the tanning bed. Relaxation and beauty is what the conditioned spa center offers for a comforting visit. The modern rooms are ideal for frequent travelers, some of them enjoy ocean views. It has easy access transportation to visit the town and buy amenities in stores, restaurants, bars and to know a little of the local culture. The service staff always friendly and happy to help the guests.

Won't be returning.

We stayed for 7 nights half board. Firstly about where we stayed which was a bungalow No 803 . On entering it smelt very musty and the bathroom was in desperate need of a refurb even the towels were thin and had small holes in them . The room was serviced ever day with clean cup/glasses, bed made and a bottle of water left. There was plenty of wardrobes and drawer space, but with chipped floor tiles and missing grout, in my opinion they are not worth the money. Breakfast was the normal spread and dinner was hard to get a decent meal as most dishes didn't compliment eachother so we just ate smaller randon dishes. Ordering drinks was difficult as we felt we were ignored when other guests ( Germans) were served, also paying for the drinks was very strange, halfway through dinner when you were eating someone would come round with the card machine for you to pay. The outdoor pool could do with a clean and a bit of paint and maybe a reminder on how to treat guests, as when i came out of my bungalow wearing flipflops and wet hair after showering I was told to get out of the pool and shower. I explained I already did and was told no I needed to shower or no pool , i'm an adult not a child ! I didn't use it after that. The spa area was nice but the water was a little to warm and it can get busy. And yes there are cockroaches we had them in the bungalow they were coming up through the plughole in the shower. I will be adding photos at some point.

Please stay away from this exceptional hotel....

First of all this hotel, just like every other, falls into two categories.
One positive, and the other is negative but not in an unacceptable way. So firstly let's focus on the positive aspects of this particular hotel, of which they're are many. My wife and I arrived extremely late due to the abysmal situation with the ESS at Las Palmas airport, so didn't get to the hotel until after 12.30pm , but the reception staff informed us there was something prepared for us to eat in the dinning room.

Just about every solitary room faces forwards towards the pool and the sea, so from the 2nd floor upwards you have both a pool view and a sea one. Don't let the holiday companies beguile you into spending extra on a better view from your room. It'll be a waste of money. As far as the rooms are concerned they're massive. They're kept spotlessly clean with both your bedding and towels changed every single day. There's a TV in each room with four English channels plus a fridge with a bottle of fresh water delivered daily.

All the staff are excellent and exceptionally friendly except for a few individuals which I'll come to in the negatives.

The daily activities and facilities here are again excellent and put most other hotels my wife and myself have stayed in to shame. There's an on site Spa where the all of the facilities are there, free of charge, for the customers leisure. The ONLY aspect of the spa you have to pay for is the treatments themselves. There's an excellent in house gym with modern technology and facilities, there's two pool tables, a table tennis table, mini golf, French bowels, a full size tennis court too. With large gardens where daily activities take place. Archery, air rifle shooting, Tai chi, Yoga etc etc. There are also night time turns on in both the main bar area inside the hotel and in the outdoor Ala cart restaurant.

Now to look at the negative aspects of the hotel. Whilst it's in close proximity to two well served bus stops immediately outside the hotel itself and you can book as many trips from the hotel itself as you wish, you do feel it's isolated due to its location. There's few local shops, restaurants and a cocktail bar immediately outside the hotel itself.but apart from that that's it. I'd personally say it's too quiet on a night time if you wish to walk off an evening meal and do a bit of shopping etc.
Some of the staff in the self service restaurant at both the daytime and nighttime sessions can be extremely German centric. I personally did notice this on numerous occasions and just chose to ignore this. On one particular occasion at night neither my wife nor myself were approached to see if we wished to have a drink with our evening meal, and yet others around ourselves were served immediately as soon as they sat down. There aren't enough toilets around the pool area. There's only one set of toilets fir both male and female guest around the pool, and the actual number of toilets inside isn't sufficient for the amount of guests. The restaurant at the side of the pool refuses to serve ANY guests after 11am on their last day of stay, but you do still have use of the main buffet restaurant within the hotel itself. Despite the fact of staying within the main hotel itself, the bungalows in the hotel grounds look extremely dated and in dire need of refurbishment along with the swimming pool with peeling paint being predominant on its floor making it look dated. The staff in this hotel are constantly on the go though, the animation team, the pool attendees, the waiters and the waitresses, even the manager himself is there all day long.

Would we stay here again? Absolutely. Without a shadow of a doubt. My gripes are very very minor and wouldn't prevent me from EVER staying here again. The staff are what made this holiday for us and really do make it special. IT was our wedding anniversary whilst we stayed here and it was celebrated with us by a bottle of wine and some fruit placed in our room. I'd heartily recommend this hotel to everybody.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 11/10 – An Absolutely Outstanding Hotel!

I’m currently halfway through a two-week stay at the Bull Costa Canaria & Spa, and I can honestly say this is the best all-inclusive hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. From the moment we arrived, everything has been exceptional. The food is superb, with a fantastic choice and excellent quality every day. One thing that has really impressed us is the entertainment – it’s varied, enjoyable and, unlike many hotels we’ve stayed at, it isn’t simply the same programme repeated every week. It makes a two-week stay so much more enjoyable. The biggest credit, however, has to go to the staff. Every member of the team we have encountered has been kind, courteous, friendly and incredibly helpful. Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble, and you genuinely feel that they want you to have the best possible holiday. I was initially a little concerned when we were allocated on the 6th floor, as I wasn’t sure about being so high up. I needn’t have worried – it has actually turned out to be a bonus, as the view is absolutely superb and has added even more to our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, well maintained and has a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. You can tell that a great deal of care goes into making sure guests have an excellent experience. We’re only halfway through our holiday and already I know this is somewhere I would happily return to. It takes a lot for a hotel to exceed expectations in so many areas, but the Bull Costa Canaria & Spa has managed to do exactly that. A huge thank you to all the staff for making our holiday so special. If the second week is anything like the first, we genuinely won’t want to leave!

Don't choose a pool bungalow

This is a bit of a mixed bag review. As a family of 3 ( 2 adults + 18 yr old) we've had an enjoyable holiday here but a few things let our stay down. Checkin was welcoming until we got to our pool bungalow. As soon as we managed to open the dated patio doors the smell of mold greeted us...the whole bungalow stank. We were also greeted with electrical wires on show, a safe that didn't work and a sliding window that wouldn't lock. After complaining, we were moved to a main hotel room for the night which was a million times nicer. We asked if we could move to the room for our stay but was told they were fully booked up.

Following morning we returned to the bungalow and they had removed a wicker basket and replaced the net curtains and main curtains which we assumed was causing the smells, fixed the safe and then later fixed the window lock.

The pool bungalows are very dated and need a refresh to match the other rooms and hotel areas. You pay more than a superior sea view room for a bungalow but I don't see any benefits when they are so dated. The positives are that beds are comfy, good size and access is easy to the gardens and pool area.

Food is a mixed bag ....there's plenty of choice and was generally nice but sometimes the combinations didn't make much sense ( eg chicken curry but no plain rice to go with it) and the layout of the food didn't make it easy to find what you wanted so you wander around trying to find things. Beer on AI is limited to just the local tropical brand ....you have to pay extra for anything else.

The communal areas are nice but feel under utilised during the day. The main reception area stinks of some fake airfreshner smell that is pumped out from a plug in wall box ...it's so strong my wife has to hold her breath walking through as would give her a headache!! Pool area has lots of beds and a good tag system so no sun bed wars. Noticed each day the pool had a bright green algae ring at the end of every day so was being sprayed each evening to treat it. Only bar open in the day was at the pool so you then have to take drink inside to main hotel if you wanted to drink somewhere cool as no Aircon at pool bar areas.

We used the Spa a couple of times during our stay and it's really nice. We paid extra to have massages which were great and well worth the money.

Entertainment on the evenings was good and usually a singer(s) but the drago bar is massively understaffed at times. The bar staff work soooo hard and feels like more are needed when it gets busy....this is also the case at pool bar on the evening when there's only 1 person serving. Animation team also work hard and good selection of activities during the day .

It's an OK hotel but we have been to other hotels that have better food and drink, better accomodation and we're just generally nicer for less money. It's not a bad hotel and we made the most of our stay but would be difficult to recommend to anyone

Wonderful Resort Stay with Incredible Food, Modern Spa, and Great Service

We had a fantastic holiday overall! The hotel is spotlessly clean in all areas, and the rooms are wonderfully spacious with beautiful, fresh, new decor. The modern spa was absolutely incredible and a huge highlight of our trip—it features a Dead Sea pool that was genuinely out of this world! For getting around, the bus stop right outside the hotel is super convenient and efficient. The service really made us feel welcome. The staff kindly left a basket of fruit and Prosecco in our room for my husband's birthday and sang to him, which was a very nice touch. A special shoutout also goes to Edwin and Fernando at the bar, who both provided amazing service throughout our stay. The dining experience was outstanding across the board. Every mealtime offered a great variety of high-quality food, complete with a fun different theme every single night. The Don Miguel à la carte restaurant was absolutely fabulous with delicious food and remarkably quick service. We also loved the delicious pizzas at Don Pepe, and there was plenty to keep us happily occupied with activities during the day. The pool area was lovely and never felt crowded. We did notice that some of the paint at the bottom of the pool was flaking off slightly, but it didn't impact our enjoyment. While the hotel operates a sunbed allocation system—which is great because you don't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to reserve a spot—our first day was a bit tricky as the sunbed attendant accidentally overlooked us for a couple of other parties. Once we were sorted on day two, though, our beds were great and we enjoyed relaxing for the rest of the week. Just note that inflatables aren't allowed; a friend and I brought our pool hammocks and were very politely informed of the rule by the staff. If there are a couple of small things that could make the stay even better, it would be expanding the outdoor seating at dinner to make it easier to seat larger groups like our party of 7 together. Also, keep in mind that the pool towel deposit is €15 per towel in cash, so it’s handy to bring enough cash with you so you don't end up needing an ATM withdrawal. All in all, the fabulous food, lovely rooms, and wonderful team make this a fantastic resort option. We would gladly recommend it!
