We’ve just got back from 10 nights at Paradisus by Meliá Gran Canaria and had an amazing stay.
The hotel is beautiful, modern and absolutely spotless. We stayed in a Junior Suite Solarium and were really impressed with it. It was massive, with loads of space, but still managed to feel really comfortable and homely. The solarium was a great addition and having that extra outdoor space made the room feel even more special.
For us though, it was really the staff who made the holiday.
Christiana on reception deserves a massive mention. From the minute we arrived she was so warm and friendly and just made us feel welcome. Throughout the holiday she always took the time to speak to us, check everything was OK and help with anything we needed. It’s the little things that make a difference and she genuinely made our stay that extra bit special.
A huge thank you to Christiana and Brado as well for finding my Meta glasses after I’d lost them! I honestly thought I’d seen the last of them, so getting them back absolutely made my day.
José at the bar was another favourite of ours. He makes the best sangrias and is always friendly and attentive. You can tell he takes real pride in making his cocktails. To be fair, the drinks throughout the hotel are 11/10 — really good quality and always presented brilliantly.
Pappi also deserves a mention. He never seemed to stop! Always keeping everywhere spotless, clearing things away and checking people were happy throughout the day.
Then there’s Sandro on the door, who greeted us every day with a smile and always made a fuss of my daughter. Those little interactions really made her holiday too.
The pools were immaculate and we always managed to get a sunbed, with plenty of fresh towels available. The entertainment team were great fun and a big hit with us.
Food was really good in both the buffet and the restaurants. If I had one small criticism, it would be that after 10 nights it did start to feel a little repetitive and a bit more variation would have been nice.
My only other small negative would be the evening entertainment. It often didn’t start until around 9:30pm, which was a bit late for us as a family, and the stage area seemed quite small considering the size of the hotel.
But these are only small points and certainly wouldn’t stop us coming back. We had a brilliant holiday and were genuinely sad to leave.
Beautiful hotel, amazing room, great food, brilliant drinks and, most importantly, some fantastic people working there.
We’ll definitely be back!
We visited for a week with our 2 year old. We originally booked a normal sea view room but on check in felt it was very small for a family of 3 so upgraded to a suite which was much more spacious. The air conditioning was poor and the room never felt very cool. Our baby monitor showed the coolest it ever got was 23degrees. We changed rooms after the first night thinking the air con was faulty but this wasn’t the case. The food was outstanding- we enjoyed everything from the buffet to the à la carte restaurants. Having à la carte options at lunch time was lovely. At the buffet you can order meat and fish which are cooked to order. Cocktails were freshly made and they’d make anything you wanted. There was often a queue at the pool bar but it went down fairly quickly. You could also get ice creams / ice lollies. The children’s splash park was fun but slippy and got very busy so we tended to stick to the main pool. We never used the kids club but did have a look in and it was modern and clean. One section of the pool said it was for adults only but there were lots of children also sitting in this section and using the smaller pool so this may no longer be the case. The staff were all very friendly and went above and beyond.
The only thing that would probably prevent us returning is the room set up- we prefer a separate sleeping space for our toddler and the rooms / suites are open plan so you don’t have this option. Otherwise I would fully recommend to both couples and families. It was an all inclusive that didn’t really feel like an all inclusive.
Our one-week stay at Paradisus Gran Canaria was very pleasant! We were taken great care of already from check-in.
Much of our time was spent by the pool. The facilities are great and offer everything you need, including activities and shows. We felt little need to leave the premises.
We were pleased with the restaurants and bars, especially Kanna where we came twice during our stay for dinner. Thank you to Martin and the rest of the staff for the joyful hospitality!
We recommend eating at the restaurants as often as possible, as they offer a more unique and calm dining experience. The Gastro Hall offers a great selection and quality, but was rather crowded and loud at times, especially during breakfast hours with the families and children. Some mornings, we were led to a table by the staff, other mornings we simply had to find a table, as the staff seemed to have too high workload. The hygiene and buffet etiquette of the guests were varying, and we would have appreciated availability of hand sanitisers.
Thank you! We will definitely return, and are looking forward to it.
Sincerely Lilja & Fredrik

The hotel itself was immaculate, and the food was always so fresh, with plenty of options to choose from. Everything was just perfect, and we genuinely didn’t want to leave!
A special shout-out to Prado, Abdullah, Hamzah and Victor, who were absolutely wonderful, although there were so many other lovely staff members whose names I unfortunately didn’t catch.
