Fantastic hotel
Fabulous 10 days in this lovely hotel. Food was amazing, all the restaurants and the buffet were all great. All the staff were super helpful and friendly , nothing was too much trouble but to mention a few: Lukas on reception greeted us warmly and gave us thorough information and was really helpful throughout our stay. He’s an asset to the company . Rueben and Kevin on the pool bar worked tremendously hard and were always happy and obliging along with Cristian who always had a smile bringing drinks and rushing around in the world cafe. Jose in the Piano bar was super efficient and very attentive and always happy to have a chat. If there was any slight negatives, it was the evening entertainment, apart from one night which was great and people were up dancing , the rest were pretty boring so we did go to the Marina one night and a taxi into Puerto del Carmen and the other is they could do with a few more members of staff. The staff there worked tirelessly and were always friendly and obliging but you could see they were definitely a little under staffed. That said, we had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely go again.
Not Preferred, not wanted
The hotel was lovely. But the hotel is segregated to a preferred club. And you cannot use the pool or sun loungers down by the Ocean unless you pay for preferred. You pay for all inclusive but unless you pay extra to be in the preferred club you cannot even use a restaurant that is in your pool area for lunch. The hotel is extremely understaffed . Some of the staff are extremely helpful others not so. I have stayed in a lot of hotels around the world, Sandals, Rui, Royalton and have never been made to feel like you did not deserve the service if you were not preferred even the name is demeaning.
Food was lovely in the restaurants and it was good that you did not have to book. Entertainment needs to be reviewed as you really only get 1 hour’s entertainment in the evening. The hotel is so far out and not a lot of day time activities.

Luxurious, chilled relaxation!!!
We had the most wonderful week here. We went all inclusive and preferred club and were glad we did. There is nothing about this place I could suggest improvement on. Rooms- exquisite. Buffet- unfailingly excellent. Staff- could not do enough to make your holiday excellent. Book it, you won’t regret it. It was the most relaxing luxury experience we’ve had. We’d go back in a heartbeat!

Great hotel, pool needs attention
Back from a really relaxing week at Secrets. Booked here on B&B basis as it’s only a 10 minute walk to the marina at Puerto Calero and there’s a dozen places to eat, all really reasonably priced. We had considered upgrading to half board as it was only €26 per person per night extra. All inclusive was €128 per person per night extra - there’s no way that’s value for money, but each to their own.
Our room was in the side, partially overlooking the marina and some sea view. Very nice room, spacious and cleaned impeccably every day.
The hotel itself is very nice indeed, really modern, very helpful and polite staff. We had lunch a few days at Barefoot Bar next to the main pool - again, very nice and pretty well priced.
Our only gripes with this hotel is, the ‘Preferred’ option. There are certain areas that are segregated from the rest of the hotel - no go to mere muggles which personally I find a bit off. If you want to pay more for extra touches in-room, branded drinks then fine - but this doesn’t feel right. Secondly - the main pool. It’s big, clean, never felt cramped BUT - it needs some tlc, the pool floor is broken and cracked in lots of places and it detracts from the overall quality one might expect from a 5* hotel.
The spa and treatments are all chargeable. €25 per person for 2hrs in the hydro-spa … very nice place, would recommend at least one visit.
A really welcome surprise from the hotel was a card & cake for my birthday - very thoughtful !
Overall, a great hotel, great location, great relaxing holiday - and yes, we’d go again.
A hug in a holiday!
This holiday was so relaxing in every way. Two Ladies travelling alone we arrived flustered after a very stressful airport experience. We were calmly attended to and 2 glasses of cava arrived and that was the start of our hug in a holiday. If this is your first experience Of travelling alone know that once you arrive you will be cared for. It’s a spa experience, peaceful, good food, activities and entrainment you can choose to dip in as you wish. The rooms are comfortable, accessible and well maintained. The room staff are attentive and considerate. We will book to return and we thank you.
