Apartments Blue Sea Costa Teguise Gardens

Just back from a week here with family. After reading such negative reviews we decided to make up our own minds. First impressions we arrived late at night and the hotel was a short 15 minute transfer. Food was finished so we dropped our bags and headed straight out to find a pizza restaurant on the corner of the street. Food was ok as we were all hungry. The rooms are basic but spacious, the lack of air conditioning was a problem as our windows blew all night leaving them open but just blew hot air around the room. There is a fan but doesn’t really help. The food is awful, everything looks grey and tasteless. We ended up eating out every night and our children refused to eat the breakfast and would rather have something from the shop. The shop onsite is good and staff very friendly. The pool area is good , however people camping out before 10am on chairs under the few parasols was crazy. Plenty of sun beds. Lifeguards were good however had different rules daily, no ball games and then ball games allowed! Overall great location, super holiday. Food was a big disappointment though.

We had read many reviews on here before flying out to stay at the BlueSea Costa Teguise Gardens and I have to say we was a little concerned by the more negative reviews but these were met with some fabulous reviews so we didn’t know what to expect.

The hotel is in a great location, it is around a 10-15 minute walk to the local town and beach area. A cab to or from the hotel is only 4 euros. The apartments themselves are fairly basic but we found them spacious enough and was nice to have a decent sized balcony. The apartment was cleaned every other day with fresh towels supplied and fresh bedding and spares, this was a really professional service. Be warned about the shower in the apartment, you have it on a luke warm setting but then you hear a whistle and for a few seconds it becomes scolding hot.

Juan the complex entertainer is a brilliant guy, he works really hard to get people involved in day games by the pool, night time bingo and entertainment and he really goes over and above to make you feel really welcome. The lifeguard (sorry we don’t know his name, he looks a little like vin diesel merged with the rock) was very focused on his job but found time to have a friendly joke with us and our children particularly our little boy. As did Hamza the bar tender. The ppl make the place, the reception staff were always helpful and so were the two guys working in the mini market.

The unfortunate part of our stay was sadly the food and the lack of baby changing facilities. We paid a lot of money to come away all inclusive, with the idea that alike other 3 star hotels that we have stayed in, we would have basic but tasty and a good variety of food. Unfortunately, there were cheap can like mushrooms and tiny red odd shaped sausages for breakfast, and foods such as fried milk, often there wasn’t a glass or a cup available for you to get a drink and so you had to wait around and some days we struggled to even get a high chair. The staff in the canteen work so hard but the food itself was below basic with no flavour. I am not a fussy eater but even I passed on a few days and this in turn costed us around another £300 to eat out as we wanted flavour and freshness in our and our children’s food.

The pool area was cleaned every day and we never really struggled to get 3 loungers so we were quite happy.

We would recommend that the hotel build a baby changing facility near the toilets as we struggled to change our baby’s swim nappies particularly on the last day when we had no room to go back to.

Overall we would recommend that if you stay here and you are not that bothered about drinking lots of alcohol then self catering would be a better option, that way you can have a base at the hotel but eat out as the food really is very very poor.

Recommend the Aqua park just a short walk away from the hotel and the Four seasons rock cafe in the town, live entertainment singers and a nice atmosphere.
