The BEATRIZ COSTA AND SPA is a synonym for rest and health: the best choice to make you feel transported to world of sensations. Of particular note are the panoramic views of the garden and of the swimming pool. The350rooms at the hotel have been designed to make customers as relaxed as possible during their stay. Guests can rent a car from the hotel. The facilities Sun beds are rounded off with the pool.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Family holiday all inclusive. On arrival the hotel looks fantastic same as reception area.
From reception steps onwards it’s just disappointing. Our first few hours my words was these!
~ Definitely not a 4 star hotel ~
Carpets old worn and smell. Room dated Air con has no blowing power as well as having 20 year old dust and mold. Furniture is what we’d use in a conservatory. One of our two toilets did not flush properly. Sink tap handles have more slack than Katie prices south region just to get a dribble of water you have to do a 360 at which point you spin me right round baby right round (hay having more fun than day time entertainment!) Tiles cracked. Shower has no pressure. Room lighting very poor. Balcony door did not slide properly (roller bearings collapsed)
~ Definitely not a 4 star hotel ~
Building is tired and showing its age. Broken files around the pool. Tiles mismatch. Building has concrete cracking away. Paint flaking off. Glass sun damaged. Glass cracked/smashed. Carpet stinks around entrainment area saw mold on some lower walls. Decorative wood panels damaged.
I’m still thinking………….. ~ Definitely not a 4 star hotel ~ Pool area Having to pay for crappy plastic cups to get mediocre drinks Having to Que to get drinks is stupid they could do soft drinks on self serve and a beer pump. Staff are not friendly not sure if they hate their job or just the English. Adults club not children’s club! Broken/cracked missing tiles Jacuzzi not working.
I’m still thinking………….. ~ Definitely not a 4 star hotel ~
No kids ice cream down at the pool you have to pay for that. Been to 3star hotels on the island and they have self serve creams and drinks.
I’m still thinking………….. ~ Definitely not a 4 star hotel ~
Food cannot knock the quantity just the quality is poor and yep you guessed it I’m still thinking………….. ~ Definitely not a 4 star hotel ~ Breakfast. Spanish bacon Scrambled egg not cooked enough it was sloppy. Pancakes (good) Hashbrowns every morning overcooked but somehow raw! Fried eggs Omelette decent Fruit showed its age and had more bruising than Tyson fury’s face. Sliced bread is not soft and is stale so you have no choice but to toast it. Wasn’t sure if my departure bus would turn up before if had even managed to toast one slice!! I’m still thinking………….. ~ Definitely not a 4 star hotel ~ Evening meals repetitive Struggle to put a meal together with all the randomness of what’s on offer. Kids will struggle unless they want chips and pizza no nuggets or chicken strips etc. 1 night we looked around the food station then got a taxi to town for tea. 1 night we didn’t even bother going down we got a taxi outta the place went to support a local restaurant.
I’m still thinking………….. ~ Definitely not a 4 star hotel ~ At this point I’m getting fed up of doing this review. I’m fed up of this hotel and I’m sat here thinking I feel sorry for anyone on more than 7 days. There will be loads of things I have left out just cannot think right now as I’m dreaming of a 4 star hotel that isn’t this one! If you have very low expectations for a hotel and no sense of taste for decent food and want to pay over the odds for a family holiday get yourself down here. I wish I’d used the money to refurb our family bathroom or spent £5.5k on a used convertible
I’m still thinking………….. ~ Definitely not a 4 star hotel ~
We booked a package holiday at Hotel Beatriz Costa & Spa as a relatively cheaper last-minute break (a couple of months between booking and visiting). Looking at the reviews then and the price we paid we had pretty low expectations. Upon completing the holiday we could not wait to return home - a very first experience for me and my wife at the end of our holiday.
Upon arriving at the hotel we were too early to access our room and decided to relax at the pool area. There were no free sunbeds (a problem we faced throughout our stay) but to be expected in peak-summer and the midday time. Myself and my wife had to share 1 sunbed for 3 hours whilst waiting for our room to be ready. This is despite many sunbeds around us occupied with towels but not even used by people for hours at a time. Our first afternoon was also topped-off by the very rude bar staff at the pool bar.
The time came to access our Superior Room which was ok overall. However, the air-con we had paid extra for was non-effective. The top 2 settings of this rattled constantly and provided no immediate cool air when enabled. The air-con when left on for a few days did begin to provide some cooling.
Our first evening meal at the hotel was ok. However, we found the food at evening dinner very limited and poor quality. There was only 1 food station in the restaurant that served hot food but each night the choice of this rarely differed. After 2 nights we chose not to eat any hot food in the hotel again.
The hotel itself is situated uphill and around a 15-minute walk to the nearest shops but a little longer into the town itself. We were well aware of this at the time of booking. From the hotel to the town it is downhill however to return to the hotel it is all uphill. We appreciate the hotel cannot do anything about its location and we found a taxi to/from the town was very helpful at less than 5 euros each trip and only took 5 minutes also.
One of the worst things as half-board guests we found unacceptable is the fact that there is no light-bites / lunch available at the hotel at all. There was an option to pay 21 euros per person per day to eat from a very small buffet in the pool bar. This seemed very extortionate for what appeared to be just salad, chips and bread.
Things with our "superior" room eventually got worse. We had a brief ant invasion from under the floor. Trying to sleep at the hotel was a nightmare. A combination other guests slamming doors, running of children down corridors and open rafters in the main ceiling of the hotel rattling every other minute or so and as we were on the 5th floor we could hear these on every occasion. The setting up of tables late each evening for tomorrows breakfast could also be heard every night.
Every morning if you chose a relaxing day by the pool needs to start at 9am. You need to queue up and wait for the security guard (baton included) to rope-drop at 09:30 so the reservation of sunbeds can begin. Luckily we were good at running so we got a bed per person. On the few days we did this we experienced a lot of people reserving sunbeds but leaving towels on them for hours at a time. The hotel claim that people are not to do this. On our first night's stay (after the first afternoon of sharing one bed for 2 adults) we reported the sunbed hogging to Jet2. Jet2 claimed there is a anit-hogging of sunbeds policy that the hotel enforce. Jet2 claims that the lifeguards that monitor the pool remove any towels that have been left for a considerable amount of time. This is complete nonsense as over multiple days towels were left on beds for hours on end unused and the hotel did nothing. As a result of the sunbed fiasco's we experienced we can confirm there is clearly not enough sunbeds for all guests that want them and the hotel don’t care about this.
The toilets beside the pool never had any soap in them - this just shows the lack of care given. Lights in there don’t work / appear broken? And you were also lucky if there was any toilet roll present in the women's cubicles.
In summary our stay here was unfortunately one to forget and very unsatisfactory. I have been travelling with my wife for 8 years and this is the first time we ever considered leaving a holiday early. I would personally recommend anyone to avoid this hotel until they begin to get the very basics right.
Just got back with my family and so glad to be back home. Hotel looks very grand but behind the scenes it's not the greatest. Bar stuff are so rude and have their favorites. We were all inclusive and when ordering a Pina colada it was like watery juice from the machine. They made no effort to make a decent cocktail and spoke to you very rudely which was so upsetting. We saw crockroaches in the toliets and plenty of ants in the room which get into your suitcase( I had been warned already by another guest that they had the same issue with the ants).
The pool is nice but no spa or Jacuzzi working...yes can you believe it 1 bar open all day near the pool area and that's it...untill 18.00!!! BAR STAFF ARE SOO RUDE AND MADE YOU FEEL TOTALLY UNWELCOMED...the Male manager who was on shift that evening spoke to me so rudely after I complained that I ordered a mojito for the first time in the entertainment bar and was given AGAIN from the cheap machine... when I asked for a slice of lime she said NO !!!! ...and if I wanted a decent 1 I would have to pay for it........it's disgusting the way they treat guest after you have been paying off your holiday for months. I was left feeling very low and depressed on my last night of my holiday. On a positive note just want to say thank you to some of the staff that would greet you with a smile.
I travelled with my two daughters, we were given a room that had recently been renovated and we had no problems with it. The hotel is impressive, with lucious green plants drapping down the floors. There was a real smell of damp down where the evening entertainmemt is held, we chose to sit away from the bottom end as it wasnt as strong. There are’nt enough sunbeds which is a shame and does result in a ‘race’ to get them when it opens at 9:30- this really needa to be addressed, as it does hinder the holiday. The queues for the drinks go down reletively quickly. The food in the restaurant i didnt find repetative at all, and we all ate very well and felt the foods were varied. Location- its far away from the resort, a good 20minute walk.
I have been going on all-inclusive holidays for 10 years, trying to find something better every year. This year, just when I thought I’d have another great time in Lanzarote, I ended up in this hotel... This hotel is one big joke. The rooms are awful, smelly, and dirty. The whole hotel smells of dampness, especially near the show bar and in the restaurant on the bar side. You can even see mold in the plant pots on that same side, and the plates in the restaurant are dirty... The food is repetitive. As for the rooms, mine was on the second floor: dirty carpets, dirty walls, mold around the air conditioning vent (which didn't work), filthy armchairs that smelled terrible, and a dirty table on the balcony... POOL AREA The hotel has a large pool split into two sections: one small (heated) and one large (unheated). The area around the pool is dirty and wasn't cleaned for several days. There was no soap in the poolside toilet for my entire stay, and there are not enough sunbeds. The pool opens at 9:30 AM, and if you don't take part in the morning rush, there are no spots left by 9:40 AM—and the staff couldn't care less... It's also worth noting that the pool bar is the only one open in the whole hotel from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, which leads to long, 15-minute queues for a drink. On top of that, you have to pay €1 for a cup if you don't bring your own... This was the absolute worst way I have ever spent my money. The staff is rude—when I tried to exchange my beach towel after three days, I was sent to reception and asked to describe the dirt on my towel because, according to hotel policy, you only get one for the entire stay... I won't even get started on the bartenders: on my first day, right after arriving, I tipped a bartender €5, and he didn't even say thank you. I WARN EVERYONE AGAINST THIS HOTEL!!! Do not waste your money.
