- Sol Lanzarote All Inclusive

The family-friendly hotel Sol Lanzarote is perfectly situated in a peaceful location in Matagorda, frontline to the sandy beach and the Atlantic Ocean. Guests will appreciate a wonderful pool landscape; part of the hotel is designed in a Flintstones style, with themed rooms and a themed restaurant as well as a Flintstones Bazaar. A shopping centre is only 200 metres away; the popular holiday resort of Puerto del Carmen is easily reachable by public transportation. An ideal hotel for families with children who wish to spend a beach holiday. We would like to inform you that the time has come to proceed with the repair of our three pools to offer a modern and functional product. For all this we wanted to inform you that we have decided, for the best achievement of this repair and above all to avoid inconvenience to our customers and partners, proceed to the temporary closure of this pool from the day 12/11/2020 with an estimated duration of 1 month. We are delighted to inform that the hotel will have another 2 swimming pools available and all the services will run as normal within the new reality adapted to the Covid-19 under the program Stay Safe with Melia.
Was apprehensive seen mixed reviews ,but booked anyway.
Had nothing to worry about.
Hotel check in was a breeze Shout out to abel , who was very kind.
Hotel right facing the beach Good plentiful , all incluaive buffet. Have no complaints.
Yes repetitive, but you should know before booking this hotels has no al a carte restaurants. Hotel was tasteful, fresh and lots of it.
Room was clean and spacious.
Entertainment was brilliant , no critique , entertainment team are excellent.
Would I stay here again. Yes I would , it is 4 star hotel that ticked the boxes of what we wanted.
It is august and somehow the hotel is full but I don't feel like sardines crammed together.
Have I stayed in better hotels yes, because those were 5 star, not 4 star.
Great hotel, great food , great entertainment. Nothing I can complain about.
A lovely family hotel, wonderful happy staff who work very extremely hard. Lively and very clean…. An excellent entertainment team
Lovely attentive staff. Clean rooms, restaurant and pool area. Food was amazing ant every meal! Entertainment reps were great and had everyone dancing and laughing, even when they weren’t performing. Thrilled with my holiday here.
st now New Couple We have visited Sol Lanzarote many times over the years as we love the location. Over the past years we have stayed in several other Hotels we booked Sol just two weeks before we went to be close to family visiting the area How disappointed were we firstly as we have stayed many times this is nothing to do with staff who are very hard working and have been very kind to us some are now long term friends
I am a wheelchair user and my wife requires to use a scooter ( not one of these very large ones for outside) on this visit they have a TV outside the restaurant that shows a clip saying no scooters in dining room so unsure how my wife can get to her table as advised as a wheelchair user I agree these road scooters are too big for dining room
Our room was nice but levels of cleaning varies by who cleaned the room our main floor was cleaned once all the time we we’re there the bathroom a few times the rooms are a bit dated furniture a bit dated but comfortable
I don’t like the idea of drinking out of a plastic cup which meant when we went out we could not take bottles of water with us we spoke to the Customer Services manager about this and she gave us a small metal container which held about a can of juice we do not drink alcohol mainly tea or coffee and water so to get the level of water we needed we had to buy it from the shop poor when paying all inclusive The customer service manager was not interested
Being polite we asked if our 14 year old grandson could come into the hotel use pool and get drink and if so how much (they were staying across from Sol, have done this in other Hotels) baring in mind we were not going to use pool as it’s not wheelchair accessible the customer service manager came back us and said it would cost 130€ per person for the day 330€ to include his mum and dad too expensive for us and the quality of food does not justify this
As indicated we have stayed there many times we initially moved due to poor quality and selection of meals and it is with genuine sadness that I have to say the quality of the evening meal is very poor which resulted in us eating out 10 night out of 14
The customer service manager never came back to use about the use of scooter and when in for breakfast I in my wheelchair had to get all the meals and carry hot tea in cups
As advised from reception staff dining room staff ( not in bar) are very nice however it is with genuine sadness sadness that after all the times we have been there we will not return I don’t normally do reviews however my feelings on this are mixed this hotel is not looking for the mature couple it’s looking for families I don’t want a soda mixed soft drinks from a machine pizza, chips and burgers for my dinner or snacks I genuinely could not tell some meats for what they are This is not a cheap hotel however in other hotels soft drinks and bear don’t come from a tap, you get choice of soft drinks especially water in a bottle bears wines are by the bottle and again not one tap for red one for white As advised my review is based upon many visits to the hotel over the years and watching the overall standards of service deteriorate over the years it’s also the first hotel where the manager appears to hide maybe he does not want to ask guests how things are
As I said this is a review that I genially write with sadness based upon the many friends that we have made there over the years the hotel has some access issues for wheelchairs but you can get around 90% of it however when they don’t look to resolve or provide bottle water and limit access for people who need it even if it’s just to their table and you have to buy food after paying all inclusive due to poor quality of meals the hotel no longer meets our needs or expectations
Thank you to all the staff over the years that have been kind and have made our holiday enjoyable. Time for new adventures Rooms: 4/5 | Service: 4/5 | Location: 5/5
Rooms Are basic but comfortable could have cleaned floor more often
Nearby activities Lovely area Margarita plenty of restaurants shops but quite then you can visit other areas in the island worth doing
Safety We have found the area of categories safe we did not go into PDC at night but do feel it’s safe location
Walkability We are wheelchair users and take our own wheelchairs but the walk from Matagorda to PDC is beautiful with sea to your right beaches very quite plenty of space and plenty of places to stop on route for drink, ice cream etc As a wheelchair user my only objection is there are individuals who appear to hire the road scooters and before someone shouts at me for saying people have hidden disabilities I have used a wheelchair for 40 years after injury in army and I see the same people walking later in the night. The scooter hire as in two wheel type also can result in many people passing you at speed
Food and drinks In Matagorda and PDC area there are plenty restaurants some fancy some just good pub grub I don’t like spicy food however would highly recommend Monsoon Masalla, as well as Herreto, Guinness Bar and Marcos ( serves food until 1am open to 2.30 good for late arrival) staff in all very helpful
Noteworthy details Matagorda is a quite area where you can choose to have quite time or move to PDC I suppose for younger travellers Lanzarote is a lovely island and worth the visit lovely locals people in shops and restaurants very kind and helpful
