The family-friendly hotel Sol Lanzarote is perfectly situated in a peaceful location in Matagorda, frontline to the sandy beach and the Atlantic Ocean. Guests will appreciate a wonderful pool landscape; part of the hotel is designed in a Flintstones style, with themed rooms and a themed restaurant as well as a Flintstones Bazaar. A shopping centre is only 200 metres away; the popular holiday resort of Puerto del Carmen is easily reachable by public transportation. An ideal hotel for families with children who wish to spend a beach holiday. We would like to inform you that the time has come to proceed with the repair of our three pools to offer a modern and functional product. For all this we wanted to inform you that we have decided, for the best achievement of this repair and above all to avoid inconvenience to our customers and partners, proceed to the temporary closure of this pool from the day 12/11/2020 with an estimated duration of 1 month. We are delighted to inform that the hotel will have another 2 swimming pools available and all the services will run as normal within the new reality adapted to the Covid-19 under the program Stay Safe with Melia.

Lovely hotel ideal location real value for money
Great hotel but receptionists could do with some customer service training
Great location, nice clean rooms, food great but rude, crabbit receptionists. We paid for a superior sea view room but couldnt see the sea for palm trees🤣🤣. Receptionist said to my partner that they can’t cut palm trees & she said well don’t advertise it as a sea view. Moved rooms to a smaller room but we took it as we had a view of the pool and a bit of the sea if you stood up & looked round the balcony. Tried for a late checkout at 8 today as we leave and we’re told no, reveptionist didn’t really even check, probably as it was the same receptionist that told us they couldnt cut palm trees.
Hotel ok but would try a diff one next time instead of returning
Not the worst hotel by any means but wouldn't go back, feel there are better hotels to choose from.
Pool opening times being 10am is ridiculous for those who have small children, who no doubt will be up at the crack of dawn, its too long a wait.
Its the first hotel I have been to where people where starting to que at the poolside at 09:30 for a sunbed preference. When the red rope is moved at 10am for the pool being open, its like a free for all and people fighting for sunbeds. ( i refused to go down till after 10am as made me anxious having to rush to a bed). That also being said 4 people next to us put their towels down around 10am and went off, they didn't return till 15:30 , so reserving a sunbed and not using it is one thing but the staff should be more hot on this as it isn't fair when people are wanting sun shades and to be without when people are throwing towels down and then going out for the day reserving the sunshade space.
I found there was an awful smell of sewage on and off daily which i found off putting.
The rooms though are lovely and clean, the staff are friendly and the food choices are varied.
Again not the worst hotel but would try somewhere diff next time.
Parasols and sunbirds
Great location on the sandy beach front with a lovely well maintained promenade Friendly staff with a full program of events Pool area opens at 10am with strict control on those trying to put towels down early Ample sun beds are available, however there is a serious shortage of parasols. This resulted in a mad dash in the mornings

Mother amd daughter
Brilliant location right on the beach The hotel is spotless with staff cleaning and viewing all day long. Very kind amd helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Entertainment staff are brilliant, especially Lorenzo and Nathan who work really hard all day and night. Will definitely return
