⭐️ HONEST REVIEW – ELBA PREMIUM SUITES, PLAYA BLANCA, LANZAROTE ⭐️ Adults only | Prestige Comfort Suite | 20/08 – 27/08 | 7 nights

We’ve just returned from a 7-night stay at Elba Premium Suites in Playa Blanca. We were two adults travelling without children, staying in a Prestige Comfort Suite, and wanted to share our honest experience.

🛎️ SERVICE

The staff were genuinely lovely. Everyone we came across — reception, bars and restaurants — was friendly, helpful and welcoming.

However, the restaurant areas were clearly understaffed at times, which did affect the service and overall experience.

🛏️ ROOM

Our Prestige Comfort Suite was one of the highlights.

It was clean, spacious and private, with a lovely outdoor decking area. The maid service was also excellent throughout our stay.

No complaints whatsoever regarding the room. 👍

🎶 ENTERTAINMENT

This was probably the biggest disappointment for us in the adult area.

We weren’t looking to party every night, but equally we didn’t want to be back in our room with a book at 10pm every evening.

We felt there could have been much more adult-focused evening entertainment. Even something simple such as a quiz night, fun bingo or other social activities would have helped bring guests together.

There were some lovely daytime activities around the adult pool, including coffee tasting (barraquito), cocktail classes and paella tasting.

A special mention has to go to Lulu, Paula and Rahmon, who were fantastic. They were friendly, engaging and really made an effort with guests. 👏

🍳 FOOD

Unfortunately, this was where we were most disappointed.

We weren’t able to book either of the à la carte restaurants because they were already fully booked by the day after we arrived.

Unfortunately, we hadn’t been aware that we needed to book so quickly and this wasn’t explained to us at reception when we checked in. Had we been told, we would have booked immediately.

Breakfast was pretty much what you’d expect from an all-inclusive — hot options, cereals, cheeses, meats etc.

There was also an endless supply of Cava, Mimosas and Bloody Marys, which was a nice touch! 🥂

However, one morning I asked for a Coke Lite and was told it wasn’t included in the all-inclusive package, which we found quite odd given the range of drinks that were available.

Lunch around the adult pool was very hit and miss. We tried most of the menu — burgers, pasta, pizzas etc — but the quality and taste varied considerably from one day to another.

Dinner in the upper adult area was unfortunately very repetitive. The selection reminded us of the style of all-inclusive hotels from the 90s — lots of the same options, with much of it being bland and disappointing.

We ended up eating out on 4 of our 7 nights.

And just to clarify, this wasn’t because we fancied a change or wanted to explore the local restaurants. We ate out because we genuinely felt we had to.

🍹 DRINKS

The drinks selection was another disappointment.

There wasn’t a particularly great choice and the cocktails were very hit and miss depending on who was serving.

Some cocktails were included in the all-inclusive package while others weren’t, which we found confusing.

We asked for a Heineken one day and were told it wasn’t included, despite having been able to have one the day before.

The same inconsistency happened with cocktails in the evening.

We didn’t want to stand in a queue full of other guests challenging staff about what was and wasn’t included, so we simply accepted it — but it was frustrating.

❤️ WOULD WE RETURN?

Unfortunately, no — not for the price we paid.

There are definitely positives. The hotel is lovely, our suite was excellent, the staff were friendly and there were some enjoyable activities around the adult pool.

But for us, the food, drinks and lack of evening entertainment in the adult area really let the experience down.

We’ve stayed in other hotels in Lanzarote and, comparing our experience here with those, we unfortunately don’t feel Elba Premium Suites offered the value for money we expected.

We weren’t expecting perfection, nor were we looking to party every night. We simply expected more variety, consistency and adult entertainment from a hotel at this price point.

This is purely our honest experience from our 20/08–27/08 stay. Everyone has different expectations and, of course, other guests may have a completely different experience.

Beautiful suite ❤️ Lovely staff ❤️ Some great daytime activities ❤️ But unfortunately, the food, drinks and evening entertainment didn’t live up to expectations for us.

This once brilliant hotel is no longer, at best it's just ok. Having stayed at this hotel on two other occasions, we were so disappointed this year. It just doesn't cut it across all areas. Such a shame because it wouldn't take much for it to be excellent again.

Bungalow style rooms and beds comfy, small football pitch, daily pass to the water park nearby (which was included in our package) and a busy evening entertainment programme kept my 7 year-old occupied however the daytime kids club wasn't that structured. Overall the hotel was adequate however the pools were freezing even the small heated one (which was very busy) was still cold. Massive queue for drinks at the bar all the time and it was difficult to find a clean table in the dinner hall - it was obvious there wasn’t even staff. Food was ok. I’d rate a 3 star rather than a 4 star hotel. Location ok, about a 10/15 minute walk down a main road to the sea front.
