This wonderful beach hotel is located in the bustling tourist centre of Playa Blanca. The hotel is located a mere 300 metres away from the nearest pebble beach, while the Timanfaya volcano, Janubio salt works, Ajaches Nature Park and the renowned Papagayo beaches are to be found in close proximity. Guests can relax and unwind in perfect rapture amidst the intrinsic beauty of the surroundings. This charming hotel welcomes visitors with warm hospitality and excellent service. The guest rooms are tastefully decorated, inviting guests into a cocoon of peace and serenity in which to enjoy restful slumber at the end of the day. Guests can avail of the excellent leisure facilities the hotel affords, and can enjoy an energetic game of tennis or an invigorating workout in the gym, followed by a refreshing swim in the pool.

Hotel Mirador Papagayo
This was our second time at the hotel. The first a trial honeymoon and the second(this one) our real honeymoon and my birthday. The hotel is relatively large but not overly so. It was full this time but we still had a nice time. The room we had was sea facing and in the fifth floor. It was clean, tidy and fairly roomy. A small number of sockets and a step in bath/shower. The balcony caught the sun from early until mid afternoon but the view was to die for. We discovered the sun terrace the first time we were here and frequented it again this time. It is a clothing optional terrace although it is titled a naturist sun bathing area. There are around 20 sunbeams and a couple of large Balinese style beds and a hot tub/jacuzzi that has a low temperature so ideal for cooling off. Due to everyone using the tub and each having sun cream the water in the tub becomes cloudy and discolored etc and could be cleaned/drained or treated. We have a tub at home which we use frequently and it never gets the way this one was. We went half board this time and despite drinking in the bar after meals we still spent less than we would if we were all inclusive. The food was not as good as the first time we came here but as I said the hotel was full and I feel that was probably why. One downside of the half board is that only water was provided free of charge during the evening meal. Coffee or soft drinks could or probably should be included. There is an option for €7 per person per day to have an evening meal upgrade where drinks will be included in the evening meal. The swimming pool has a black bottom which is rather strange at first glance but is clean and refreshing. The are a large number of sun-loungers around the pool and not really that many bed blockers (early morning towel claimed beds) as the hotel is pretty cosmopolitan with a wide range of nationalities. We did not go to the evening entertainment but from previous experience it is what you would expect from a hotel. The only other drawback is the noise from another hotel across the bay in papagayo from their evening entertainment and activities. The marina is a fifteen minute walk away with many bars and restaurants, all reasonably priced and good value. There is an Iceland store and super Dino nearby and an Indian restaurant which has good value well cooked food and a happy hour from 9am to 12. A car may be hired from reception and is both easy to collect and return. There are many things to do on the island and traveling on one’s own initiative keeps cost down and timings do not need to be followed as one does it at your own pace and convenience.
Won't return
We had a lovely holiday but some staff have attitude especially Daniel in the bar all over a ice coffee which my wife asked for and the young lady agreed to do he got involved in something which was nothing to do with him. I didn't realise the lunch time meal was in a snack bar where the food was hit and miss. Evening food was pretty good. Special mention to Fernando Lilian and I think his name was Mehandra in the snack bar. We won't return.

Reviews are very personal so not trying to influence however these are my thoughts
Hotel over all looks nice in brochure but pretty average when you get there .. plenty beds and pool ok Room was clean(ish) and done daily but no view apart from rock wall .. however roasting hot with sun late afternoon .. we could have changed to junior suite but wanted €50 per night .. so for some the view may be worth it ..
Sorry but the food was dire .. same cold, unappetising dinner buffet every night .. breakfast better and I’m sure people would find “something to eat” but not 4 star ..
Would I come back … no this was a replacement holiday venue as our usual hotel in Tenerife (going for 14 yrs being refurbished)
Didnt have terrible holiday and it was relaxing but limited. 3 star at best

Lovely hotel with great staff
This hotel is in a quieter area of Playa Blanca with amazing sea views. It is only around a 15 minute walk along a beautiful coastal walkway to the start of the town where there are some great restaurants if you wanted a change from the hotel board. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds and the staff are lovely and helpful. We love this hotel and would definitely recommend it - we first stayed in June 2026 and found it so nice that we returned in September 2026 and have already booked to stay again in December 2026! Looking forward to seeing the lovely sea view once more this year!

Lovely views and great spa, but repetitive food and bar queues drag it down
The Positives:

Junior Suite & Amenities: Our Junior Suite was spacious and offered amazing views of the sea. If you stay in this room type, definitely make use of the Privilege Lounge—going there after a day at the pool for drinks and cakes was well worth it.

Pools & Spa: The main swimming pool was always nice and warm. The spa experience was fantastic—just €20 for 1 hour 30 minutes, which felt like great value. The Dead Sea pool was my absolute favourite!

Staff & Location: All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel is ideally situated for a scenic walk along the coastline to the marina and Playa Blanca.

Evening Drinks & Shows: While we didn't catch every show, the magic show was funny and the opera singers were quite good. For drinks, definitely stick to the reception bar in the evening where cocktails are made by hand—they taste much better than the machine-made, overly sweet ones served by the pool.
Areas for Improvement:

Buffet Food & Poolside Dining: Food was hit and miss with very limited variety. The dinner buffet was repetitive, featuring the exact same choice of carbohydrates (chips and potatoes) and pasta every single night. The breakfast layout was also baffling—sausages were inexplicably placed next to the churros and waffles rather than with the rest of the hot items like beans and bacon.

Bar Queues: Getting drinks poolside often resulted in unnecessary queues because staff had to manually take room numbers for every order.

Room AC & Maintenance: The air conditioning in our room wasn't very effective. Outside, some jacuzzi jets didn't work on certain days, and the hotel gate leading directly out to the promenade was broken.
Summary: A pleasant stay with lovely views, great staff, and a superb spa, but the repetitive food options, odd buffet setup, weak AC, and minor maintenance delays regarding the promenade gate keep it from being a top-tier resort.
Overall Experience: We had a nice overall holiday here, but due to several issues—particularly around food variety we wouldn't return to this hotel.
