This family-friendly apartment complex is conveniently situated in the popular holiday resort of Puerto del Carmen in the south of Lanzarote. The closest beach, Playa Chica, can be reached within a short stroll, while the Biosfera shopping centre is only 800 metres away. The centre of Puerto del Carmen with its bars, restaurants and nightclubs is just a short stroll away. Lanzarote International Airport can be reached within a short drive. Completely renovated in 2013, the village-style apartment complex with its typical white-washed architecture offers one- and two-bedroom apartments. They have a friendly and inviting interior design, and features include air-conditioning, flat-screen TV and complimentary WIFI. Younger guests will love the mini-club, the playground and the children's pool, while not-so-young guests will appreciate the outdoor pool, the fitness facilities and the chill-out club bar. A perfect place for a sunny holiday.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I have been to this accommodation numerous times with my family and continue to return as we all love it. The location is great, only a ten minute walk to the old town with lots of restaurants and bars. The strip is only a twenty minute walk away and the beach front also. Gloria Izaro offers clean, modern accommodation with friendly staff. The atmosphere is relaxed and chilled with no noisy night life near by to disturb your sleep. The swimming pool is big and there are activities on during the day such as water aerobics and water polo. There is a pool bar opened during the day serving meals and drinks. There is a bar next to the restaurant which is opened till midnight with entertainment too. The staff in the restaurant always greet you with a warm smile and a good morning. There is plenty of choice for breakfast. Daily room cleaning and towel changing too. I would highly recommend Gloria Izaro for a couples holiday or family holiday as I have done both and I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Worth every penny.
Just back from a lovely week at the Gloria Ízaro our first time there and we weren’t disappointed we requested a early check in and a low level room and both requests were delivered to us which we really needed after a early flight. I have to say that all the staff were so friendly and helpful with any request including renting a scooter for my wife. The rooms could do with a bit of an upgrade as you could see bits of the room had cracks holes etc but for what we needed it was fine. My only real complaint was the sun bed situation which I know is a common complaint in most hotels on arrival we were given a notice telling us that sun beds cannot be reserved and that towels would be removed but that is not the case as everyday that we went up to pool there wasn’t a sun bed available and on one occasion we counted at least 30 beds with towels on them but nobody on them. We used the large sun beds on the first level which were comfortable but just not near the pool and a few didn’t covers which did appear near end of week which was due to windy weather conditions so at least we had somewhere to enjoy the fantastic weather. Overall a lovely visit and would stay there again.
The staff in the hotel were helpful and friendly. We went Half Board and found the food so good plenty of choices even for picky eaters. You weren’t overwhelmed with choices like the big hotels which suited us. Everywhere was clean I couldn’t fault it. Although the hotel is top of cardiac hill, it never bothered us as we live in a hilly town. Plenty of taxis around if you don’t fancy walking uphill cheap enough 4-5 euros. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here at Gloria Izaro Hotel so much that we have already booked up to go back next year in July 2027
This was our third time staying at Hotel Gloria Izaro in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote, and once again, we had a lovely stay.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, with easy access to the town, restaurants and waterfront. Our room was clean and comfortable, although the rooms are starting to look a little tired and could perhaps benefit from some updating.
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Pablo is a fabulous addition to the entertainment team — he was always smiling and brought a great energy to the hotel.
The pool area was a particular highlight, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The only downside was the issue of sunbeds being reserved with towels for long periods, sometimes for most or even all of the day, without actually being used. This made it difficult at times for other guests to find a sunbed. It would be beneficial if the hotel did more to enforce its policy regarding unoccupied sunbeds. We have stayed at other hotels where the lifeguard removes towels from sunbeds that have been left unoccupied for more than an hour, which seems to work well.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our third stay and we will certainly return. Hotel Gloria Izaro is a lovely hotel in a fantastic location and makes a great base for exploring Lanzarote. In our opinion, it is definitely deserving of its 4-star rating.
