Definitely not 4 Star Accommodation.
Definitely not 4 star accommodation. The paint is peeling off the walls and carpets are badly stained in the accommodation corridors. The rooms are very basic, small and in need of modernisation. We had 2 power cuts in 5 nights which left the hotel without light in corridors, aircon and running water for up to 5 hrs in some sections.
Amazing hotel
Amazing location , right on the beachfront / waters edge . We had a corner room , the views were brilliant . Food was so good in the buffet and had the a la carter option one night which was good , not as much selection of course but was nice to be served. Staff were great . Overall amazing stay.
Amazing hotel and holiday
Really couldn't fault this hotel. I had a family holiday with my daughter and my parents. We all had a fab time. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Its in a great location right next to the beach and a few minutes walk from the centre. Food is amazing and never experienced that from an all inclusive before. My daughter enjoyed kids club with different activities each day. Plenty of space to relax around the pools. Great staff.
Absolute Nightmare Stay – A Safety Hazard & Total Waste of Money
I read the bad reviews online before booking and assumed people were just being overly picky or dramatic. I was dead wrong. Our stay at Barceló Ponent Playa (Cala d'Or) was an absolute disaster from start to finish, and every negative review turned out to be completely accurate.
- Zero Room Security: We were placed on the ground floor, only to discover that the patio door could be easily opened from the outside by hand. Anyone off the street could have walked straight into our room while we were sleeping. For a major hotel brand, this level of negligence regarding guest safety is shocking.
- Uncontrolled Lawlessness at Night: Forget getting any sleep. Guests were in the pool until 3:00 AM every single night, shouting, screaming, and carrying on. Security was non-existent, and management clearly does not care about enforcing basic rules or protecting their guests' peace.
- Flooding & Plumbing Disasters: The bathroom was a mess. Every time the shower ran, water flooded across the entire bathroom floor, leaving us navigating a soaked room with dirty towels.
- Unusable Pools & Inedible Food: The pool area was chaotic and filthy, and the food was plain terrible—cold, bland, repetitive, and completely unappetizing.
Save your money and take the bad reviews seriously. This place is unmanaged, unsafe, and a total waste of a holiday.

If you’ve seen this on TikTok, don’t bother.
Rats on the balcony, dead cockroaches in the hallways outside the room, back door to balcony broken.
Nothing about this hotel was nice. Plus, the advertised adults only section… non existent.
Waste of money.
