This attractive aparthotel is situated in the heart of Cala d'Or in a quiet side street, yet just steps away from the pedestrian area of the city centre with its numerous shops and the beach of Cala Gran. The famous marina with its large variety of restaurants, bars and cafés can be reached within a short stroll. The island capital of Palma and the international airport are about an hours' drive away.
We stayed 8 nights from 2nd Augas a group of 12 ranging with kids from 10 months -12 yrs , area lovely hotel clean, rooms clean, staff lovely except Jesus in pool bar seemed to not be loving his job, food average … raw pork and chicken server to the kids .. oops !! Pls check before you eat .. we only really used food area for brekkie after 2 days which was fine , pool bar pretty naff too .. Air con rubbish we complained 3 times in all and nothing changed it was boiling in the night !! Child was sick in pool and nothing was really done about it , someone showed up with a net but pool not cleared for this for those who didn’t see !! Local restaurants lovely would highly recommend Indiana johns for a lovely meal .. cleaners worked their socks off and were lovely.
Just got back from a 7 night stay here and we all had a really enjoyable stay. The hotel really is brilliantly located for great access to the town, restauranrs/bars and Cala Gran beach. Our 1 bedroom apartment was slightly outdated and on the small side for 2 adults and 2 older teens. My son struggled to fit on the sofa bed so we went to enquire if a solution was possible and reception were very helpful and came to look immediately. Housekeeping added another mattress to the bed which meant he was able to sleep comfortably for the week. The room was clean and the air conditioning great to come back to after ome very hot days. Food was good on the whole for a 3 star hotel. I know all nations need to be catered for but it would have been nice to have different bacon and sausages on occasions for breakfast. The only other issue we had was a lot of little flies on the salad section which were coming from the rocket which was a bit off putting. Pool area was clean. I feel like some of the sunbeds could be replaced as some you aren't able to adjust the position of them. The activities team were very good at getting people involved but weren't pushy if you didn't want to take part making for a relaxed, chilled time around the pool. Overall we had a lovely holiday in Cala d'or and will definitely be returning.
Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing, and we were relieved that we were only there for five days before moving to another hotel. We arrived in the middle of the night and unfortunately did not receive a particularly friendly welcome from the man on reception. Very little information was given to us at check-in, and we were left to figure things out ourselves. In fact, we didn’t even realise that breakfast was included in our booking until we checked our booking details after returning home. We were also given white wristbands, while most other guests had blue wristbands, which appeared to indicate all-inclusive. Nobody explained the difference to us or offered us the opportunity to upgrade when we checked in. Our room was probably the biggest disappointment. It was far too small for three people and, in our opinion, not fit for purpose. We had to squeeze past each other just to move around the room. There was also no fridge in the room, which we found very disappointing and inconvenient, especially when travelling as a family. There were also numerous maintenance and cleanliness issues. The bathroom bin was broken, there was mould around the tiles, the walls were dirty, and the balcony door was extremely difficult to lock and unlock. I have attached photographs showing some of these issues. We asked whether we could pay to upgrade to a larger room, but were simply told, “No, not possible.” What was particularly frustrating was that we weren’t even asked why we wanted to change rooms or whether there was anything they could do to help. Room 1616 Another issue that really stood out to us was the apparent lack of attention to basic cleanliness and service. One evening, as we were leaving the hotel to go into the centre for dinner, there was a half-eaten plate of food left in the lobby. We returned around two hours later and the plate was still sitting there. It gave us the impression that staff simply weren’t paying attention. The sunbed situation was also frustrating. Every morning there was a mad rush to reserve sunbeds. I refused to take part in this and watched from our balcony instead. On one occasion, we saw one guest reserve around 10 sunbeds, despite only using a few of them, presumably keeping the others for family members throughout the day. There were also plenty of people reserving beds and then disappearing for several hours. I feel this could be managed much better by the hotel, perhaps by removing towels from unused sunbeds after a certain period. Overall, the biggest issue for us was the lack of customer service and attention to detail. Things that could have been easily resolved or explained simply weren’t. The second hotel was faultless, which really highlighted just how disappointing our experience at this hotel had been. That said, Cala d’Or itself is absolutely beautiful. We loved the area and would definitely return to Cala d’Or in the future we just wouldn’t stay at this hotel again.
1st off was directed to an extremely dingy unwelcoming cramped studio room when I had booked 2 one bed apartments due to late arrival and night porter on desk left to sort in morning. Beds extremely hard woke most nights. Patio door handle not screwed on so couldn't open door and worse was waking up to find cockroach on suitcase next to bed.
Spoke with jet2 rep Lynn next morning and was move to the correct sized booked accommodation.
Overall not a great hotel amenities/food drink think its move location your paying for. I understand the €1 deposit asked for bar glass (polycarbonate) and plate as means pool/outside not littered with dirty utensils however charge for beach towels along with a deposit bring your own (i paid £6 for 2 beach towels). If staying in main building you have to cross the road to access main pool entertainment area which isn't mentioned on Jet2 Hotel is made up of 2 older premises (see photos)
Waiters in restaurant work hard at clearing/wiping tables and Chris on reception friendly but also extremely helpful. Unfortunately I would not return and would definitely not recommend. PLEASE REFER TO PHOTOS!
Pool doesn’t open until 10am closes at 6pm If you want to go on a diet then this hotel is for you the food is repetitive and disgusting everyone was moaning about the food we were all inclusive and we had to pay to go out 3 nights at least due to the food being awful Bar after 1045pm you have to pay for the drinks The restaurant doesn’t open until 7pm and closes at 930pm Had to check ourselves all in by scanning each passport giving address etc after waiting for an hour for the transfer coach then another hour travelling so wasn’t impressed with having to self check in while the people at reception sat and watched us and did nothing. Pay €1 euro each for plate and cups can’t pay by card for the cups etc only cash you do get the euro back when you hand the cups back No floaties allowed in the pool Pool across the road from the hotel so the hotel is into halves half is located one side of the road the other half with the pool and entertainment was on the other side which I found really odd as it doesn’t state this anywhere before I booked Room always smells foulsty and old constantly it hits you as soon as you walk in . The air Con if you can call it that isn’t great it only fills one part of the room which is where its placed in the ceiling it’s doesn’t fill the rest of the room you can’t even notice it’s on The WiFi is shocking Entertainment is from 945pm for an hour for adults children can stay too but it’s more for adults there is a mini disco at 830pm for kids first but an hour entrainment a night isn’t good then there’s nothing no music and you pay for drinks after 11pm Same snacks everyday burgers hotdogs and chips No doubt the hotel will read this and say I’m sorry you weren’t happy we will take your comments on board not really good enough we only have one good day a year and paid quite a lot for it and it was a disappointment the reception staff were also rude I would not go back to this hotel again.
