Great hotel, excellent facilities, activities and rooms cleaned daily
We stayed at Gran Vista and Spa for five day on my booking request I asked for a quiet room which ours certainly was not on the second floor facing the pool.
7.30am staff started their cleaning program around the pool with their noisy leaf blower.
I contacted reception who arranged very swiftly to move us to a more peaceful room. Decor in rooms tired, shower/ loo area rusty surroundings on the frame work, lime scale on the basins taps (yuk)
Reception staff kind and helpful, restaurant staff mostly kind except one waitress Stephanie. Food serving staff at breakfast the egg chef looks so sad, rest of them quite pleasant. Observation restaurant area clean, bread knifes very blunt, cutlery also blunt, some men guests keep their shorts on for dinner and staff do not mind but it clearly says long trousers for dinner. On departure luggage room too small - shower/changing room equipment rusty, hair dryer does not work. Would we return to this establishment the answer is NO!
Excellent hotel with friendly and welcoming receptionist on arrival. Rooms cleaned and beds made up daily to a high standard and maids always friendly. Great view from our premium room balcony on 4th floor. Location of hotel brilliant as near to shops, restaurants and beach. Lovely well kept hotel grounds and pool (although a little cold!) Value for money I thought.
We had a lovely mother & daughter holiday. Hotel was lovely, clean and friendly staff. Food was lovely. Pool areas were kept clean and tidy. Love the free towel service for pool/beaxh. Only slight niggle the pitch & putt could be re freshen. The evening events were not too bad.
This hotel is in a central location and just across a main road is the short walk to beach down main strip, the landtrain that runs in the day and at night and the bus stop. Aldi is also there too. 10 out of 10 for location. Mixed nationality guests with a hugher percentage of german dyring our stay. Please note there is a gradient walk up the hotel entrance so if you have mobility issues you may want to consider that. As for Platimum status I am not sure what that is given on. If facilities within the hotel such as pool entertainment indoor pools for both kids and adults and spa I give it the rating. For food and room facilities I do not. Food was good quality. We stayed B&B but bacon was the usual fatty type. Juice was weak. I am lactose intolerant and on 2 times there was none of this milk so could not have cereal or milk in my tea. On the one occasion I had soya milk but this was not always an option. I only saw omelettes once but plenty of other egg alternatives. Sparkling wine on Sunday. Rooms had no extras. You had to pay for safe. Some shower gel only. No bittle of water to start you off and you have to ask for a kettle. We took our own travel kettle. Comfortable beds and comfortable room but some little extra touches such as water and shower caps etc would have been good. Sunbeds there were plenty off and lots of shade for trees but sometimes they were dirty and had seen better days. The main sun terrace and normal pool area had limited sunbeds and umbrellas and were always taken by the earlybirds securing with towels even though it said this was not allowed. Aqua aerobics and aqua dance etc was excellent and always plenty going on re archery, darts etc poolside. 10 out of 10 for the animation team. Pool bar food was awful. I ordered a cheese and ham baguette and only got ham on a dry baguette. Roof bar nice with good views. Entertainment there always seemed to start at 8pm which was a little early if you needed to go out for dinner as we did. Saw one act there and it was of a good standard. Would go back to hotel due to location, daytime entertainment and reasonabke value for money but not the usual platinum standard I am use to.
