Situated on a small peninsular and just a four-minute walk from the sea, this superbly located hotel offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean, as well as easy access to arguably the most well-known and stunning beach on the entire island of Majorca, Es Trenc. Offering a beautiful crescent of white sand, backed by trees and falling gently into a calm, turquoise sea, Playa Es Trenc offers a picture-postcard beach that could easily be mistaken for the Caribbean.
The quaint resort of Colonia de Sant Jordi or Port de Campos as it is sometimes referred to is a short 15 minute drive away and provides a wide range of top-class restaurants, laid-back bars and elegant boutiques, as well as a smattering of tiny coves, beaches and harbours.

Everything I wanted it was so nice
What a lovely hotel with excellent staff. We had everything we needed with good quality food. Plenty of gluten free food for me I'm a coeliac even gluten free beer on all inclusive. The young families looked really happy enjoying the dragon slide pool. In the room good shower, hair dryer, fridge, kettle, free safe on all inclusive. Water stations on each floor I was really impressed. Good airconditioning in the rooms and restaurant. We don't normally holiday in August because of the heat but we wanted to see the eclipse and so glad we did. Next time though hopefully come when it's a little cooler maybe September. The skybar is great to enjoy the sunsets and a cocktail which once again are good quality. The lady manager is very friendly and seems very hands on which is good to see. A beautiful resort I would imagine hasn't changed much from the 1960's. Not a place to go for noise and disco's but a simple place with beautiful beaches. I can't fault this hotel the only thing I missed was having a airconditioned bar to enjoy a drink before dinner.

I genuinely can’t recommend Universal Hotel Romantica highly enough. I stayed for five nights with my mum and my two-year-old daughter, and from the moment we arrived we felt completely at home.
The staff were absolutely incredible and went above and beyond to make our stay special. Honestly didn’t see one member of staff without a smile on their face. A huge thank you to Zoe on reception, who was always so friendly and helpful and she gave us the most lovely welcome - so kind and welcoming and we had such a laugh! We’d also like to give a special mention to the wonderful lady we believe is the manager/owner, who made time to chat with us every day and even gave us a hug goodbye on the morning we left. It was such a thoughtful, personal touch that we’ll never forget. The lifeguard also deserves a mention – he was always on hand to help us with access to the pool via the stairs with the pram whenever we needed it, always with a smile.
We were lucky enough to be upgraded on arrival, which was such a lovely surprise, and our room was beautiful. The food was delicious throughout our stay, with an excellent variety at every meal, so there was always something for everyone. My toddler had a full tummy every night so a huge win for us!
It’s rare to find a hotel where you genuinely feel welcomed like family, but that’s exactly how we felt here. We left already talking about our next visit, and next time we’ll be bringing the rest of the family with us.
The list of positives could go on because there’s so much I’ve probably forgotten to mention. We honestly can’t get over how amazing this hotel is. Thank you to everyone at Universal Hotel Romántica for making our holiday so memorable, we’ll definitely be back!

Fabulous for families
We have had the most amazing week here with our 2 boys. The whole hotel is so clean and the staff are all so friendly and helpful. Our boys loved the little dragon pool and we also spent time in the bigger pool, both are very clean and well maintained. We did all inclusive and there was a brilliant variety everyday, I loved all the fresh salads and fish. There was a good selection of all inclusive drinks and we loved the roof top bar and the entertainment each night. My boys loved the mini disco and face painting. The hotel has a little train stop outside which you can use for a few euro and takes you around the resort. We stopped at the port and had a look around there. There are some beautiful beaches nearby and the sea is very calm and clean. We loved our week here and I'm sure we will be back

The whole family loved this hotel with ages ranging from 3 to almost 70 years old.
Perfect location just a short walk to shops and beaches. With direct access to a crystal clear sea from the provided platform and steps. The atmosphere in the hotel is spot on for families with lots of entertainment including some quality acts. The food cannot be faulted The rooms are spotless and well provided for in terms of plug sockets, USB etc. The staff are amazing, nothing being too much trouble and we as a family would whole heartedly recomend Universal Romantica to anyone looking for a holiday that can be done at their pace.

Food is good but not loads of variety. Can be queues at dinner
Hotel staff on the whole really friendly. Apart from one woman who told us off for trying to take a bit of bread away when we were having our 6am early pre flight breakfast. Not sure why we couldn’t when we paid for breakfast that morning and unsurprisingly with an early flight we wernt hungry at 6am. She was very rude and put a dampener on our trip

Water fountains were fab
Great for kids. A nice kids pool and a daily kids disco. The kids entertainers were so lovely and did a great job entertaining them
