The Tropico Playa Hotel offers everything you need to enjoy an all-inclusive stay in a magical location: on the seafront of Palmanova beach, one of the most popular areas on the island. This resort is only a 15 minutes drive from Palma city centre and is characterised by its close proximity to three fantastic white-sand beaches that boast crystal-clear water: Palmanova, Son Matias and Magaluf, making this hotel perfect for both beach and cultural getaways. Trust the guarantee that comes from the high percentage of guests who come back to visit us year after year, thanks to the great services we offer at the Tropico Playa Hotel, in addition to the extra personal touch from the Gran Isla Hotels Group.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
From the very first minute you can feel that everything here just works — the food comes in every color and every option 🍽️✨, fresh, diverse, so good you don’t even know what to choose first. But the true star of this place is chef Łukasz — without a doubt the best chef on the entire island of Mallorca 🔥.He’s pure atmosphere: humor, energy, a big smile, and his daily “hola!” that gives every meal its own vibe 😄. A chef like this is a treasure 💎 — you better take good care of him, because the competition would love to steal him away 😉🛏️ The room? Spotless, cleaned every day, always smelling fresh ✨. The whole experience — service, food, atmosphere — is on a level you genuinely want to recommend further.
My stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful. The room was cleaned every day, and everyone can find something for themselves here — a pool downstairs and an adults‑only 18+ zone upstairs. The atmosphere is amazing, and the food… simply outstanding! But there is something (or rather someone) who gives this place a truly unique vibe. The best chef on the entire island of Mallorca — Łukasz, a talented Polish chef with an incredible sense of humor. He’s the one who brings soul to this hotel. He greets guests with a smile, spreads positive energy, and creates dishes you just can’t stop eating. Thanks to him, every meal feels like a small celebration, and the whole stay gains an unforgettable flavor. The hotel is close to the sea, with beautiful views all around. I consider this vacation a complete success and would happily come back again.
Perfect location for a beach holiday with a young family. Food and service was great, we felt looked after throughout. It is not too busy to feel it out. The pool is a perfect size for playing kids, beach a stones throw away and shops etc very close. Would definitely come again.
Great location, opposite a beautiful, clean beach. The hotel is clean, and the rooms are cleaned regularly. The food is delicious, thanks so much to Łukasz 😉. The atmosphere is great. An ideal place to relax and use as a base (you can reach Palma by city bus). I highly recommend it.
Very nice, small hotel in a perfect location for people who love vibrant city vibes combined with a beach vacation. It has a very friendly atmosphere and a genuinely helpful staff. The Hotel Manager really works "on the floor" rather than "behind the desk" - you can see him around constantly, demonstrating real engagement and care for the guests.
Standard rooms are on the smaller side, but they are newly renovated and clean. Ours faced the street, and with the balcony doors closed, it was surprisingly quiet - you might occasionally hear a pimped-up motorcycle or an older bus passing by, but street noise was definitely not an issue. The walk-in showers are remarkably large compared to the overall room size, which is a very convenient touch.
The main pool isn't huge, but because many guests spend their day at the beach, it never feels overcrowded. The rooftop terrace features a large, Cleopatra-style soaking pool (calling it a 'swimming pool' would be a stretch given its tiny size) and sunbeds paired with an All-Inclusive bar - the spectacular views from up there are a great surprise and a huge plus.
Beach Access: The hotel sits right on the front line, just across the street from the beautiful Platja de na Nadala (Playa de Palmanova). Since it’s a public beach, there are no dedicated hotel sunbeds. You can rent a standard set of two sunbeds and an umbrella for around €20–€25 per day, upgrade to a "Bali-style" set for about €35, or simply lay your towel on the sand like most people do (pro-tip: grab a €10 foldable umbrella at one of the nearby beach shops).
Food & Drinks: While the food in the main restaurant might not give you a full "WOW effect," it would be a sin to complain about it—it is solid and satisfying. The All-Inclusive drinks are made with local Spanish spirits, but the quality is perfectly fine and the menu covers around 10 standard popular cocktails. Plus, the bartenders are happy to mix whatever custom drink you ask for.
Where is the room for improvement?
Early Bar Closure: The All-Inclusive Lounge Bar closes at 11:00 PM, which is way too early for a town with this kind of night vibe.
Beach Towel Policy: Beach towels are only replaced once a week, which is insufficient. They really should be changed at least every second day or upon request. While I respect sustainability efforts, regular bath towels are changed daily anyway. After a few uses, beach towels end up smelling strongly of chlorine from the pool or covered in sand and salt from the sea—yuck!
Summary: I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great stay right in the heart of a lively party beach town, just a few steps from a gorgeous beach. However, it is definitely not a hotel for families with kids, as there are no waterparks, children's attractions, or animations.
