Delfin Mar

Family of four, two teenagers. Great rooms, good a/c, super beds, gorgeous rooftop pool with shade, cool restaurant and bar area. The pool is quiet and feels grown up. Younger, noisy kids might get a few stares! Right in the middle of town but only 200 metres to the main beach. Expensive, but it was mid August and very very busy everywhere. The shoulder seasons are much cheaper. Good breakfast included. Dining room is funky and modern. Teresa on reception was attentive, smiley and helpful especially as we had a late flight… she organised the courtesy room for a quick shower early evening before we headed to the airport. It’s a superb hotel, you won’t be disappointed!

Been to wonderful Tossa many times and are return guests to the Delfin which has not disappointed! We always book a family suite and a double with terrace and request a high floor and the Delfin have always accomodated our request. The rooms at the rear of the hotel have been refurbished and are excellent. The rooms at the front which includes the Family suite are now looking a bit dated but we understand are due to be refurbished for the 2027 season. Cleanliness is first class. We always book breakfast and on the whole it is excellent, catering for all nationalities. The coffee from the machines is also very good, unusual in my experience! The only negatives are that the plates are too small and not heated and the food can sometimes be luke warm. Some of the lights above the tables are also too bright and too low. In addition on this occasion I have to agree with others who have commented that some of the serving staff appear miserable and unfriendly and were either slow to remove all the small plates which cluttered the table or didn’t bother at all. The exception was a lovely young waitress but I’m ashamed I can’t remember her name! That cannot be said of the reception staff and pool bar staff who are very friendly. That said, the pool bar drinks prices are VERY high. Some simple cocktails are 15 euros, crazy. The snacks are very good and freshly made but again, expensive. The rooftop pool is lovely but small but you are literally 100 yards from the beach. We understand that there are big plans for extending the hotel in the next couple of years to include a family wing with a separate roof pool. We did not have an evening meal so can’t comment. There’s just so many nice places to eat nearby. Bocatas almost next door is superb and good value. Overall I would highly recommend the Delfin to anyone thinking of booking. Solve the above issues and I would have given it 5 stars.
