These wonderful apartments are located in Santa Ponsa, less than 20 kilometres from Palma de Mallorca. The property lies in an enviable location within 450 metres from a fabulous sandy beach and within ease of access to numerous local bars, restaurants, souvenirs shops and the closest golf course within only 2.5 kilometres from the hotel. Those who wish to explore the island and its rich culture may appreciate proximity of motorway entry. The hotel offers ample and bright units, each of them featuring gorgeous Mediterranean style including separate dormitory, living area with fully-equipped kitchenette and modern amenities. The hotel boasts several 3 outdoor swimming pools and wading pool for children. Mostly good but a few hiccups
The hotel was nice, the pools are great for smaller kids and the entertainment was good (though there is nothing on a Sunday night) what let the hotel down was the sunbeds - there just weren’t enough you were lucky to get one. Also we had a late check out and the showers in the late check out were closed so we had to shower in the cold showers by the pool which was very difficult with little children.
Disappointing stay due to outdated property and unhelpful staff.
Unfortunately, our stay has been very disappointing. Rooms are outdated and has not got aircon in the living room. The overall property is very run down and not clean.
We also had a particularly frustrating experience with reception regarding upgrading to all inclusive on our final 3 nights. We ghad asked 3 times to upgrade to all inclusive on our last 3 nights and we in advance and were told that it is completely fine. We had also asked to move to a separate apartment at the beginning, just for two of us and they were booked out which is fair enough but later this caused our issue.
They had already looked at our booking as well and then when we went down to upgrade in the morning we were suddenly told we can’t because not everyone in the apartment was upgrading. This was extremely frustrating as we had specifically checked about it multiple times and were reassured all would be fine.
We then walked away and a woman followed us and asked to check our wristbands. We then returned to reception and to explain that we were told repeatedly we could multiple times over the previous days and they were completely unhelpful.
The staff member we dealt with was also extremely condescending repeatedly referring to us as “love” while saying “ sorry love that’s the rules and we can’t help you love”. I don’t believe this was an appropriate or professional way to speak to paying customers when we were simply trying to understand why different staff were telling us different things.
We would have been much more understanding if the policy had been clearly explained to us from the beginning. Instead, we relied on the information we were given on several occasions and were then left disappointed when we were told that the upgrade was not possible.
I would, however, like to specifically mention the older blonde/grey-haired woman who works at the front desk. She has been absolutely lovely, helpful and professional whenever we have dealt with her. It is a real pity that we did not have her assisting us during this situation, as I am sure the experience would have been handled very differently.
Overall, between the condition and cleanliness of the accommodation and the way this situation was handled by reception, we have been very disappointed with our experience and feel that the conflicting information and poor customer service should be addressed.
Great holiday all round
Great location near to all the bars and restaurants and big supermarket 10min walk away. Very close to beach. Great atmosphere and the entertainment staff including Saul, Leo and Alison in kids club are all amazing and credit to the hotel!! Rooms are clean and spacious. Good value for money self catering facilities and great amenities if you don't want to go out. Night disco for kids brilliant and evening entertainment also good. 3rd time staying as family (ages of kids 3 and 6) with parents and grandparents and we will be back :)
Fabulous Hotel
From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the lovely Petra and Pablo at reception and check in, who went out of their way to help us. I was holidaying with my daughter and 10 month old Grandson. Petra went over and above all expectations in her kindness and help towards us. We really can’t thank her enough. The hotel was clean and welcoming. Bar staff (especially Marcia) were fabulous. Drinks were good and the coffee excellent. We had a cocktail one day and it was delicious. Our room was clean and spacious and the offer of a fitted safety gate across our ground floor balcony was greatly appreciated with an inquisitive crawling baby. We had a fridge, kettle and microwave in the room, which was so handy even though we were AI. The air conditioning in our room wasn’t brilliant especially on the first few nights. We did report it and it was checked but it didn’t really get any better. We would have chased this again but the humidity did drop after the second night. The WiFi around the hotel was good. The entertainment was great for children of all ages and Saul did an amazing job every night engaging adults and kids at the mini disco. Alison from the kids club was also very friendly and helpful. You can hire beach/pool towels for 10€ refundable deposit and the same with the room safe. The ‘ Cup/Glass’ system is also a great idea for AI guests. It took us a little time to get used to it ( as we kept leaving our empty glasses on the table) As for the food. .. You have to walk across the road to a sister hotel for Breakfast and evening meal. You can also go for lunch, however The Jutlandier offers a great snack service of Burgers, Toasties, Pizzas, chips, onion rings etc all cooked fresh to order between 10-18.00 The food at The Plazamar was also brilliant. All meats were cooked in front of house and were very tasty. Plenty of choice for everyone including fresh fruits salads, pastries, breads and desserts. Hotel was in a good location with a short stroll to the shops bars restaurants and beach. This hotel makes you feel safe to leave your belongings on a sunbed and take a dip in the pool. Or leave your bag on a table and go up to select your food and it will still be there when you return. I would definitely recommend and return to this super hotel. Cannot recoup refund . No response
Had stayed here three years running with no issues. Had to cancel this year because of family breavment. I knew I would lose 30 percent which was fine but it is coming up on two months now and I can't get my refund back. I have rang emailed numerous times . It's around 880euro and nobody is responding.
