Lovely gaff from an amazing continental breakfast to fresh fish and meat for dinner rooms where amazing and they have the best staff in all of tenerife
A fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff at Villa Maria are so helpful and accommodating which made travelling with a 3 and a 5 year old a lot easier than it should have been.
The complex is really nicely laid out with lots of activities for the little ones during the day and also entertainment for them every evening.
Having accommodation with seperate bedrooms and a cleaning service everyday meant that the stay was ideal. The balconies are huge even on the 2 bedroom apartments with no pool / jacuzzi.
There could be a few more dinner options on site but La caleta is a short walk away which has a few lovely restaurants so you aren’t stuck for options. (Although I would advise a cab back up the hill if you have small kids)
There aren’t many places that offer such a perfect spot for families to relax and enjoy themselves along with a first class service experience.
We have already booked again for next year.
This is a great hotel offering villa accommodation with kitchen facilities. Staff are pleasant and helpful. We had an excellent stay for the second time and I am sure we will visit again.
The only problem Hotel Villa Maria creates for guests is that you really don't want to leave at the end of your holiday. This is one of those stand out hotels that creates wonderful holiday memories. It's perfect in every single way. Our 10yo daughter loved the pools. There's 2 main pools which are separate from each other, one is deeper than the other so most children stay in the less deeper pool although they're allowed in both. There were plenty of sunbeds available throughout the day, no need to reserve them. Everyone was respectful of others. There were no drunks, no families behaving badly, it was just a really lovely place to relax. We loved the private garden at the rear of our 1 bed villa, it was so quiet and relaxing with wonderful views, we had regular visits from the lizards that live in cracks of the stone built walls around the garden, a cat visited us to help us eat our Uber eats Indian takeaway which we had delivered to the hotel entrance twice during our stay, and also a dove. The hotel provided an extra bed for our daughter for free. The breakfast buffet had everything we could want and more. It was quiet and well organised. The hotel is situated on the side of a hill away from the built up area of Tenerife in between a golf course which I think the family that owns Villa Maria also own. The only slight negative that creates is because of the intense 34C + heat most days during our stay, we had to get taxis to get around which aren't cheap. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus into town which was great although pick up and drop off times are very limited. The villa we stayed in had recently been refurbished and it looked brand new to be honest. The whole resort looked brand new even though it's 15 years old as it is maintained to such a high standard. Attention to detail in the whole of the resort was very noticeable and well deserved of the hotels 5 star rating. I suppose it could be the higher cost to stay at Hotel Villa Maria and/or its location away from the bars and shops are the reason the types of guests who are prone to making excessive noise and behaving as they please don’t stay here (or at least didn't during our stay), for me that's a huge positive of Villa Maria. The whole place was perfect.
Hotel Villa Maria is an exceptional place to stay in Tenerife. It is beautiful site with stunning pools, warm and friendly staff and beautiful villas. The breakfast buffet was excellent with plenty of choice. The restaurant, though a little pricey serves good food and again staff are warm and friendly. The villa we stayed in was well proportioned, with plenty of space. It was kept clean and tidy by housekeeping and the amenities were good. We particularly enjoyed the terrace which was beautiful and had lovely views over Tenerife, as well as the company of little lizards which we loved. Watching them run in and out of the garden walls was more entertaining than any devices which was a blessing on a family holiday! The villas are tucked away from the main town but the free shuttle bus takes you into the centre. Overall I would highly recommend a stay there and I'd love to go again.
