Iberostar Sabila

Iberostar Selection Sábila, Tenerife – We recently stayed at the Iberostar Selection Sábila and overall had a very enjoyable experience. The hotel is exceptionally clean throughout, with well-maintained rooms that are comfortable, modern and equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay. Housekeeping standards were excellent and the facilities in the room were of the quality you would expect from a hotel of this calibre. A particular highlight was the staff. Without exception, everyone we encountered was friendly, professional and genuinely helpful. Their positive attitude and willingness to assist really contributed to making our stay enjoyable. The pool area is pleasant and well laid out, and we were particularly impressed with the hotel's sunbed booking system. It is an excellent idea that removes the usual early morning rush for loungers and helps create a much more relaxed atmosphere around the pool. There are, however, a couple of areas where improvements could be made. Some of the tiles around the pool area are cracked and would benefit from repair or replacement. The hotel app is useful especially for spotting erroneous charges to our room for drinks in the bar and cafe which we did not use! Staff immediately removed the charges without fuss. While this did not significantly impact our stay, it detracts slightly from the overall presentation expected of a five-star property. We were also surprised that, upon arrival, one of the first things highlighted was the availability of a premium (star-prestige) service for an additional fee. At a five-star hotel, we would generally expect the focus to be on the high standard of service already included, rather than being introduced immediately to paid upgrades. This felt somewhat out of keeping with the luxury experience the hotel aims to provide. As I write this on our last day, I’ve become aware of guests watching videos on phones without headphones! A new issue for hotels to contend with, perhaps signs might help! Despite these minor points, we had a very pleasant stay and would happily recommend the Iberostar Selection Sábila for its excellent staff, cleanliness, comfortable rooms and innovative sunbed reservation system.

What a wonderful hotel! From the second you arrive, you are well looked after. This was our first visit here & will be back soon. Cold towel & drinks on arrival, which were received well after travelling most of the day. Check in was smooth & we upgraded to all inclusive when we arrived, which imo was definitely worth it. Rooms were spacious, lovely and bed was huge. Wristbands to access rooms are a cool idea, no need to worry about loosing key card for entry. Whole hotel has a great feel to it. Restaurant (buffet) is 1st class, something there for every taste & dietry requirements. Great pool & reservation for sunbeds work really well. Best thing about hotel is the staff. Every single member is so courteous and attentive. There are so many staff members to mention & can’t remember all of their names, but should be recognised for all their hard work, as it’s down to them who make the hotel so good. A shout out to all the restaurant staff/chefs for making all our meals so pleasurable. Special mention to Emely, Santiago, Carmela, Crristian, Andrew and the rest of the entertainment team. My only criticism was the Gourmet Market, which food took a long time and buzzers for meals to pick up didn’t work on some courses.
