We had asked for a room very close to the room where we spent our honeymoon eight years ago and were delighted to find out we were very very close to the same room. A big thank you to hotel staff for giving us this room which was perfect.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel and found the hotel staff to be very helpful and friendly. The quality and friendliness of all staff are a credit to the hotel.
The location of the hotel is exceptional and the grounds and views from our room were beautiful. The closeness of the sea and the El Beril Norte beach in front of the hotel is one of our favourite places. We love this beautiful area of Costa Adeje and the areas around the Riu Palace including La Caleta, El Duque and Fannabe.
Sadly there are negatives, and we feel that the standard buffet food at the hotel is not as good as it was when we last visited and we were often disappointed both in the variety and quality of the food. I understand that it must be difficult to satisfy hundreds of guests with varying tastes, but we remembered more choices, more themed evenings and more Canarian specialities which were delicious.
However on a more positive note, we did visit both the hotels al la carte restaurants and very much enjoyed the food.
Just returned after a fabulous stay, so good in fact that we booked for next June whilst we were there. Flights etc all booked and paid for. Decided to look at September next year too, only to find no availability at all, further investigation and Just had it confirmed by Riu reservations head office Mallorca, closing 3rd may till at the earliest 28th September !!!! Asked why existing bookings haven’t been advised, we had a June booking, no answer ! 🤬 What about those that already have flights booked and paid, after confirming booking ? Hotel needs to step up here. Director and Sub Director knew we were booking to return next June, as did Head of Reception, but stayed silent on closure 🤔 Flights etc all booked and paid for, now out of pocket as we wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Tenerife, only go there for the Riu Palace. Any communication from the hotel would have been nice, been going here for over 20 years.
Have been to this hotel several times previously. It’s spotlessly clean, great service and very friendly staff. Great food and choice. Brilliant location right on sea front promenade. But the location of the room is very important we stayed in room 360 this time which looked out onto a wall if you sat out. This spoilt it for us we like some view even if not sea view. Oceano, Rychelle, and Sonia went the extra distance to look after us.
A return to the RIU palace. We emailed a couple of requests in advance which were fulfilled (room request, empty minibar). We have stayed several times and the hotel is getting a little tired and in need of an update. The sun loungers and cushions are grubby/moldy and dated. There is mold on the room air con outlet (shudder). In the Sunshine Bar I wouldn’t sit on a chair without a towel. Missing tiles in the adult pool. For the rest of the hotel, the room cleaning is good, plenty of staff, management is present and visible. Restaurant buffet is hot with plenty of choice. Drinks prices pretty reasonable eg €14 for a bottle of Rose wine. Standout staff Laura and Sofia in the Sunshine Bar, Camilo, Mebarak in the outside main restaurant. It’s a great location, but we won’t return until there’s been some maintenance and upgrades to bring it back to 5 star.
Riu Palace was great. Food was fantasic as usual . Housekeeping was 4 out of 5, just not up to the usual standard. Anyone thinking of going to the hotel please think of getting a taxi to and from airport. Costs about £30 but really worth it. Bus can take about an hour after drop offs, but that is after waiting for 30-40 minutes for the rest of the passengers. Also there are children at this hotel who do of course make lots of noise. However after all that I will return, great holiday.
