Elected the best resort of Spain in 2014, the exclusive, award-winning luxury resort Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora is widely considered to be among the best, if not to be the best resort of Europe. It enjoys a fantastic frontline location near Alcalá on the west coast of Tenerife, boasting extraordinary views over the Atlantic Ocean and the island of La Gomera. The spectacular cliffs of Los Gigantes are just 5 minutes away by car. Everything about this exceptional hotel is top level: from the extensive 7,500 m2 pool, the bigest pool into the hotel in Europe, landscape to the fantastic restaurants serving excellent Japanese, Italian, Mediterranean and Iberian cuisine, from the mini-club, teenagers club and entertainment for all ages to the exclusive Red Level adults-only area and the 2,000 m2 world-class Spa by Clarins. This hotel combines a fashionable luxury environment with the impressive nature of Tenerife, the Atlantic Ocean and the lofty Mount Teide, thus creating an unrivalled holiday experience.
We had a wonderful stay at Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora. It is a beautiful resort with impressive architecture, spacious and comfortable rooms, excellent food and exceptional service throughout. The facilities and overall atmosphere made our family holiday truly memorable.
A special thank you to Alejandro at reception, who gave us such a warm welcome, made the check-in process seamless and kindly helped us arrange a late checkout.
We would also like to recognise Felipe Camargo and Barbara Illényi from the Circle team. Their service was outstanding, and they made us feel genuinely valued throughout our stay. They explained and arranged the VIP Circle benefits exceptionally well and played an important part in our decision to upgrade our membership from Blue to Red Circle.
Thank you to the entire team for your warmth, professionalism and attention to detail. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be delighted to return.
This is our third stay here and probably the last. Everything has shifted making choice of food very limited. Whilst this hotel boasts a wide selection of food choice the reality is significantly different. Poolside menu is now very limited. Today alone we was rejected from four restaurants despite them being near empty. We tried to book and look at menus on the app which ultimately is not user friendly at all making it near impossible to book a restaurant ahead of time.
We paid additional to be redlevel members which really had no benefit other than absolutely delightful and hardworking staff. This politeness did not extend beyond the redlevel and instead was met with curtness and borderline hostility by hostesses of multiple restaurants.
It’s a shame to say that this will be the last time visiting with less bars open, paper cups, limit on towel use etc changing what felt like a luxurious experience to a very average, limited experience where we are lucky if we can eat anywhere other than the buffet.
Stay away. While the staff by and large are pleasant, management has no clue. Upon arrival the attempt to upsell their red level was shameful. It really was. Typically when I check in for a longer stay (this was seven nights) I receive an upgrade. Certainly that’s been my experience at true five star properties. Our first night was interrupted by a cricket that we thought was on our balcony. It took the hotel 45 minutes to respond and all that was done was a quick spray of the balcony area which ended up making the entire room smell of the spray. The sound did not go away and we were told that the spray took time to work. Foolishly we believed them. In the morning I went to the front desk and was assured the matter was being dealt with and taken care of. I checked back later in the day and received the same assurance. Second night, same sound. The cricket was actually in the ventilation of our room. We were taken to an accessible room to sleep, mattress was almost on the floor! Later the next day we were moved to another room. I engaged with the front desk and asked to speak to management. That NEVER happened. Guest relations engaged but not management. I asked for the two nights to be taken off the account, since I didn’t get what I bargained for, a clean room that was insect free and quiet. Should have been simple. That did not happen. I was told I was given a better room which I was not, unless a cricket free room is what they consider to be better. Forgot to mention, before we left the room with the cricket, it came out of the ventilation and we killed it. Showed the dead menace to the staff (guest relations)and played the videos of the sound in the room from the non paying and noisy guest. I still have the videos and the picture. I guess this sort of thing is not something that management felt they needed to address directly with me. They lost my business and they don’t deserve yours! Stay elsewhere.
We booked this hotel fairly last minute and were delighted to secure a Red Level room which is the adult only concierge level product. Red Level includes adult only pools, club room and adult only breakfast area. We were so.d an upgrade on our package at check-in from Room and Breakfast to half board with the option to select either lunch or dinner as part of the package. In hindsight we should have maybe checked the prices at the various restaurants because we did end up paying slightly more via the package. The hotel is immaculately clean and well maintained and the staff members are expertly trained and clearly customer focused. We travelled during Summer vacation period so there was an abundance of children in the restaurants but that’s our fault for travelling in July, never again! Our room was newly refurbished and very quiet, a really relaxing week of rest and relaxation. The stand out staff members for us were Jose and Hugo who were professional and helpful throughout. We would definitely stay here again.
