We had a lovely stay, the hotel is very clean, we chose it for our honeymoon and everything was perfect. I really recommend to go to ala carte italian and sakura.
4/5 - privilege package with suite, 2 adults, 1 toddler and a baby.
As expected based on other reviews and it’s fair to say that management have reacted and made some changes. On the whole had a really good holiday. Below is the feedback we would have shared on check out should the staff of even asked us how our stay was ( we wernt even asked ).
Rooms No issues, clean and fresh.
Kids club We popped in with a 3 year old a couple of times, met some amazing staff who were really engaging and some staff who were sat in their phones and had zero engagement with the children ( they needed sacking). Disco was at 5pm which was to early vs first dinner booking of 7pm, kids all still swimming.
Drinks All of ok quality, apart from the house wine in the day ( had a wine menu in the evening). With privilege you can make yourselves drinks in the lounge which we discovered near the end of the holiday.
Piano bar ( evening)
Awful service due to waiting times!!!
They only had 2 bar staff behind the bar making complex drinks. Also hard to get a table during the entertainment, we found ourselves with no table twice and trying to hold drinks whilst juggling children (near impossible).
As an example, We went at different times, once at 6pm and took 30 mins for a drink ( we were the only people there) and then again during the evening entertainment where after waiting 15 mins for our drinks order to be taken, challenged the team after 18 mins of additional waiting and got told that the wait was acceptable and staff was rude/ aggressive.
Food We ate ala carte for breakfast /dinner and pool bar / buffet lunch. You have to book everything, which has a lot of pros and cons. Having to book the pool bar was excessive and recommend the management team re review during none week periods. No food can be taken out, which was a pain if a kid just wanted a quick cookie from the cafe etc.
Children’s food Really unhealthy options for children on the whole in the pool bar and ala carte, no veg or salad offered ( would urge the management to have a simple offering of beans, peas, cucumber etc) . I was always allowed to order her an adult meal and never challenged. Asked for a side of cucumber a few times and on occasion would get comments like I’ll need to ask the chef. We found ourselves making snacks for the odd hours toddlers eat at during the buffets.
The view - privilege - really good quality food both breakfast and dinner. Wish we had eaten dinner here more, as the quality was fair more superior vs other options (small portions if you have a large appetite).
Route 66 It was just fine, not memorable but also not the worst meal either. Found the food to be salty, asked for no additional salt to be added to my 3 year old meals, which didn’t go down particularly well with the manager serving us.
Italtian Again was a pleasant meal.
Buffet We only went a handful of times for lunch and had a good range of options and we were not dissatisfied with the quality.
Pools 5 pools, only the kids pools arnt salted. Privilege pool- couldn’t get sun beds on this level during the day as all taken. I would expect the additional pool we have paid for should be able to cater for all customers for a sunbed. This also had a sign stating it was the quiet pool, which we wernt aware of in advance, so felt very concious taking our children up here for a swim on occasion.
Infinity pool- signs state recommended for adults. Again felt very concious talking our children here.
Kids pools Nice atmosphere. Splash park - super nosiey from the pressure of the water, so can’t hang out with smaller kids here. Kids are absolutely belted with water on the steps, puts off the younger children. A few nice slides.
Spa Really quiet, nice relaxed space. Didn’t see issues with mould etc.
Amazing hotel which deserves its 5 stars ranking. I had a spacious, modern and beautiful room, plus it was super clean. Amazing staff: professional, efficient, warm, friendly, welcomimg and very helpful. I was halfboard and the breakfast and dinner buffets were amazing, various, upscale and more than delicious. The hotel was luxurious. I had a panoramic ocean view. I truly recommend this hotel.
We are currently staying here at the moment and are enjoying it immediately. We paid for the privilege side and it’s worth it. The food is excellent. The staff are cheerful and attentive. Nothing to complain about. Looking forward to the rest of our holiday and contemplating coming back next year. Thank you to all the staff.
Just back from a week in this fabulous hotel. We stayed Privelege and enjoyed all the restaurants The View, Stromboli, Sakura and Route 66. Staff make evey request easy. No sunbed wars as plenty of them and all had padded mattresses. The spa visits are included and we made good use of it when it rained. Entertainment slightly above average and to be enjoyed. Food in all the restaurants was to a very high standard and plenty of choice within the menus.
