Rixos Sungate enjoys an enviable position in the heart of nature. Located in Kemer on the Gulf of Antalya, the resort sits on the golden sands of its glorious private beach, affording a spectacular view of the azure blue Mediterranean. Offering all-inclusive luxury on the edge of the Olympus National Park, home to the Olympos Mountains, the resort also overlooks the Taurus Mountains. It is this stunning backdrop that inspires the extensive leisure facilities on offer.

Did not meet expectations!

I stayed at this hotel from 07.08.2026 to 17.08.2026 at Rixos Dimond. The holiday did not match the money spent. The children’s programme is average, and there are problems with signing up for the kids’ club. The food does not match the standards of a Rixos hotel. The menu is monotonous! The entry into the sea is rocky (not pebbles, but stones left after construction; there’s also construction debris), and in general, the beach is not safe for swimming — you need to be careful when swimming because there are construction slabs. We repeatedly scratched our legs and bodies on them. Special attention should be paid to the music programme, which keeps you awake until 2 a.m., even though our room was far from the dance floor. There’s practically no animation, and the prices are high. The cocktails are good only at Diamond. There is no room extension upon check‑out, even for an additional fee, so you must plan your departure for 12 a.m. The beach is a separate story. On the plus side, there is a bar that is replenished every day with water and soda, there is a buffet service, and towels are provided. On the minus side, the food selection is limited and available only during certain hours. The pier and service are available from 8:30 to 9 a.m. The territory is large, but poorly organized. On the plus side, there are water slides for adults and children, and the queues are of medium length. Laundry is free every day (Diamond), 24‑hour concierge service. Special thanks to Orhan, who tried to make our vacation meet the hotel’s заявленного level! Also worth mentioning the restaurant staff and the bartender! Well done, guys! Overall, the hotel is of average level! It’s also worth noting that there’s an excellent SPA on the premises, but it’s available for an additional fee!

Large/Russian dominated hotel

Have just returned from a week here. Positives - Stayed in a Marine double room with kids bed. The room was lovely, spacious, good location and plenty of room for the 3 of us. The beds were large and we had more than enough space for the 3 of us to sleep comfortably. Food selection - the food selection was good in the main buffet restaurant. Lots of choice and options for different dietary requirements. Waterpark/Pools - the waterpark was brilliant for an 8 year old, the amount of pools was also good.

this hotel is BIG. There are lots of great things around. We didn’t go any of the activities on site as the temperature was very warm but the Rixy kids club looked good and had a lot of choices. Plenty of food and drink options throughout the day. Snacks/water etc always available. The Costa kiosks were also good.

Negatives - Pools - the pools although plenty were unfortunately a bit of a nightmare to get a sunbed. Had I had known it was the type of place where towels are placed on sunbeds first thing in the morning then I would have booked elsewhere. I complained to the hotel and they made an effort the day after to remove a few of the towels at the marine pool but didn’t particularly make much difference and the next day it was the same situation. People “reserving” sunbeds and not even being there most of the day. Very disappointing.

We stayed in a marine room so the main pool we used was the marine pool. Although we did go in some of the others. Aside from the sunbeds it was also concerning to see the amount of glasses and bottles left around the edge of the pool throughout the day. Although staff were regularly tidying/cleaning there was no apparent policing of glasses on the edge of the pool. With the amount of children running around this was a big concern. I can’t say for sure if it was glass or something else but on the first day I did cut my toe in the pool.

Staff - I found staff were not the greatest (aside from the restaurant where the staff were good) the reception staff on arrival could have been more polite. She barely said a word and threw a sheet of paper in front of me to fill out with all of our details. The bar staff also were pretty poor. No real effort to serve in any particular order and despite queuing they were happy to serve others first.

Having read the reviews previously regarding the large presence of Russians in the hotel we were apprehensive. However unfortunately it is true. The majority of guests were Russian. The majority were obnoxious, rude and had no regard for anyone but themselves. Be this as the bars, the restaurants (no attempts to queue and rather would just push in where they want) there is a clear divide on how the Russian guests were treated compared to others and they were seemingly preferred by staff. Not sure why as they barely acknowledge them or thank them and treat staff like the help rather than as people.

The on site market - AVOID. We went there on the first day. We purchased an inflatable shark, a small ball and a packet or disposable razors and it cost £130. It didn’t quite sink in until after as I paid in lira but this is disgusting. The inflatable alone was £80. A small ball £40. It’s absolutely disgusting. There are shops outside of the hotel opposite that sell inflatables and balls for real prices and not ripping you off.

The land of legends entry and transfer was a big part for booking. However beware that the pick up to come home is very early and you won’t have anywhere near enough time to enjoy the park if you opt for that. We paid for a private transfer back to the hotel with a company called Antalya Private Transfer which I would recommend. It was around 65 pounds but a very comfortable Mercedes mini van with all the bells and whistles. The park itself was great.

Overall the stay was fine. I probably wouldn’t return to this hotel anytime soon as I think there are probably better hotels. However I also understand that this place is massive and a lot goes into it. The sunbeds, staff and Russians let this place down a lot. Depending on what you are looking for I probably wouldn’t recommend it.

Beautiful resort, but we felt singled out and poorly treated

We recently stayed at Rixos Sungate for a family holiday. The hotel itself is beautiful, with lovely facilities, and the team was very good at managing my son’s severe peanut and sesame allergies. They prepared suitable meals for him and took the necessary precautions, which we genuinely appreciated.

Unfortunately, our holiday was overshadowed by the way the hotel handled parental consent documents because my children have a different surname from me. The requirements repeatedly changed, despite us providing the information requested. We were eventually told that we needed a notarised document, resulting in additional expense and considerable distress.

Throughout this situation, I felt that my family and I were singled out. At times, we were ignored by hotel staff when trying to obtain help, and the overall customer service was extremely poor. What should have been a relaxing family holiday became stressful and upsetting because we constantly had to chase answers and deal with inconsistent information.

Communication was also difficult. At an international five-star hotel, I expected more staff to be able to communicate effectively in English. On several occasions, staff had to use Google Translate, which made it particularly difficult when trying to resolve important or sensitive matters.

Although some individual members of staff were kind and helpful, the overall handling of our concerns fell far below the standard I would expect from a Rixos resort. The hotel needs to review its procedures, communicate requirements clearly before guests travel and ensure families are treated fairly, respectfully and with compassion.

Tale of two parks

Exchange rate poor as everything has to be paid for in Turkish lira by loaded wristbands. Food and drink expensive but food potions good. Although in effect 2 parks (rides and water slides) swimwear is a must. Family did enjoy their time there

Guest relations very helpful ( Zarina Damla)
