Fun friendly happy holiday
Lovely hotel and the staff are super friendly. Food was ok but was pretty long when at times. Snack bars and drinks were great especially for the kids, ice creams etc. pools are fab plenty of choice. The entertainment is fab for the whole family doing something new every night and during the day. Nancy one of the reps made outstanding effort with all the guests encouraging fun throughout our stay, very helpful and happy lady and she will be missed by our family.

Arrived home Saturday from our holiday to the Grand Lara, we picked this hotel as it seemed good value for money and the reviews for it on here seemed to be good, however, our experience was very different to the reviews. It isn’t a hotel we’d go back to and we actually paid to move our flights to leave the holiday earlier. The hotel is very overcrowded, pool area has sunbeds crammed into every space to the point you have to climb through other people’s sunbeds to get to yours. By half 7 virtually all sunbeds are already claimed. Pool area itself is clean, however, the pool water is awful on your skin and hair, I’m not sure why or what they put in it but it isn’t nice. The area that really lets this hotel down is the food and dining areas, they are really poor which is a huge part of the hotel given it’s an all inclusive hotel . I would say it is 2 star quality food. The choice isn’t great at the buffet restaurants, there is long queues for tables, they don’t get food back out quick enough to replenish so that creates big queues for the food, the quality of the food is low. The food goes cold quickly because of the queues. There is other buffet restaurants apart from the main restaurant that are quieter but they have even less choice and are still low quality. There is some more choice around the pool in the day but again the quality of the snack bars is all pretty poor. The bar areas are slow again due to queues The plus for the hotel is it’s close to the airport and the rooms are good and what you’d expect for a 3 star hotel, a little worn in places but kept clean, hotel on the whole is quite clean. They also have an arcade (which you pay extra for) that is good for the kids. We’ve been to turkey before, and have found that normally the hotels exceed their star rating, in this hotels case I would say it’s below it. I would say it would be a 2.5 star hotel based on the poor quality of food.
Value for money
We visited as 2 adults and 2 kids 16 & 12, we arrived late at night and checked in nice and quick. Bags taken to our room and then we went to the 24 hour bistro for some food, there wasn’t much choice but it was enough until breakfast.
We ate in the bistro bar most days as it was quieter and easier for breakfast and evening meal, we did try the main restaurant one night and it was hell. For to small for the size of the hotel, massive queues and extremely rude people. The hotel staff are really nice and try to accommodate where they can, we did revisit on our last night at 6:30 when it opened and it was perfect, there wasn’t much choice a lot more choice but it soon filled up so if your wanting to eat in there get in early. The outdoor BBQ area was really good at dinner time as you can get kebabs, you can also get massive jacket potato’s and then go to any restaurant to add anything to it. Burgers are available from the main pool bar.
The highlight is the Turkish ice cream man, he’s great with the kids so make sure you tip him. Waiters come round on roller blades and take drink orders, we tipped them every so often so they kept coping back.
The sun loungers are an issue, we stayed around the smaller pool close to the bistro and never struggled to get a lounger. I did try the main pool one morning to be told you had to be there for 5am to get any bed, people were sleeping on the loungers at that time. Pools are big enough, slides open at 10am - 12pm then 1pm - 7pm. Pools bars are open most of the day however the bar behind the slides are open 11am - 5:30pm.
We stayed in block H in a deluxe family room, it had 2 single beds when you walk in with a small hall then a bedroom and balcony. The room was easily big enough, clean and had everything we needed. The cleaners came everyday apart from 1 day, the mini fridge in restocked every 3 days with pop and juice.
Outside the hotel there’s plenty of shops and some restaurants, the hotel has shops and a hairdressers.
Pool towels can be collected from the here spa at 10am each day then returned for fresh the next day.
Overall the hotel is worth the money however the main restaurant needs to be bigger.

Excellent holiday
Ignore the negative reviews. We’ve had a great 10 day holiday. Room was cleaned daily apart from Sunday. Fresh towels every day. Entertainment staff 10:10! Mahmut, Nancy and elena were fantastic! Nightly shows we couldn’t fault especially the party nights. Yes we got up early for a sunbed to lie around the pool but there are other sunbeds away from the entertainment and main pool. Main restaurant is very overcrowded and guests are rude but that is not the hotels fault. We didn’t find one miserable staff member! Plenty of other places to eat on the complex! From jacket potatoes to a bbq area. The roller skater guys made our holiday. Didn’t have to go to the bar ourselves. Big shout out to batu! Well done for looking after us. Our only complaint would be we had £70 stolen from our safe. Which we reported straight away! Just be mindful of this when you are getting a safe. We would defo return and thank you for such an amazing 10 days holiday!
