Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Overall a great hotel. Big rooms. Good food and drink. Pools and slides excellent. Beach is great and easy to get to. And less hassle chasing a sunbed. Animation team were good. Evening entertainment was ok. Mostly dance shows. Animation team did a great michael jackson night. Food and rink available 24/7. Beach huts are worth it but just get the basic package. Not worth upgrading. Best staff for me were at the lobby bar. Some minor niggles that did not spoil our holiday but pointing them out for fairness. Sunbed wars are real. Could be solved by getting more parasols. Hotel was clearly overbooked which did not help with sunbeds and getting a table for meals. More lifts are needed. Try to get a lower floor to avoid that. Overall very happy and we would return.
Just returned from 10 days at Terrace Elite Resort, and overall had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend the hotel.
The food was varied, fresh and of a very good standard, with the different dining areas offering slightly different options. This was actually the first hotel I’ve stayed at where I genuinely enjoyed the desserts! The rooms and the hotel itself were kept very clean throughout our stay, and the staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive.
There’s also plenty of entertainment, particularly for families. There is lots for the kids to do, including inflatable slides by the pool and, on some evenings, additional inflatables set up in the garden areas. There was always something going on, which made it a great choice for a family holiday.
The beach is within walking distance, although when temperatures are reaching around 45°C, the walk can be quite difficult, particularly with children. Thankfully, this really isn’t an issue as the hotel runs a shuttle bus to and from the beach very frequently, so getting there and back is easy.
There are, however, a few things worth knowing.
The main reason I haven’t rated the hotel as excellent is the smoking. If you’re a non-smoker and really dislike the smell of cigarette smoke, this may be something to seriously consider. The hotel seems very accommodating towards smokers, and we found it almost impossible to eat outside without being surrounded by cigarette smoke. There is a very small non-smoking dining area, but unfortunately it’s positioned between two smoking areas, so the smoke still drifts across from both sides.
It’s much the same around the pool, where only a small section of sun loungers near the baby slides is designated non-smoking. Evening entertainment was also difficult to enjoy without cigarette smoke, as wherever we seemed to sit, there were people smoking nearby. The hotel would really benefit from having larger, properly separated non-smoking areas for dining, relaxing by the pool and watching the evening entertainment.
Another issue is getting a sun lounger. If you want one, be prepared to be up before 7am to reserve it. Otherwise, there is very little chance of finding one until much later in the afternoon. It’s a shame because some people clearly put their towels down early in the morning and then disappear for most of the day, leaving loungers unused while other guests have nowhere to sit. It would be great if the hotel introduced or better enforced a policy around reserving loungers and leaving them unattended for long periods.
The only other slightly unusual issue was the lack of privacy around the toilet in the room! The toilet is behind what is essentially a shower-style glass door, so there really isn’t much privacy at all 😅 It would definitely benefit from having a proper, solid door. Ironically, there is more privacy using the toilets in the hotel lobby or by the pool than there is in your own room!
Those points aside, we had a very pleasant 10 days at Terrace Elite Resort. The cleanliness, food, staff, entertainment and convenient beach shuttle were all excellent, and we came away having had a lovely holiday. With better provision for non-smokers, some control over sun lounger reserving and a proper bathroom door, it would be very difficult to fault.
Unfortunately, towards the end of our stay we also realised that, despite having paid extra to upgrade to a Superior Room, we had actually been allocated what appeared to be a Standard Room. We only became aware of this when comparing the room types later in the holiday, so by that point there was little opportunity to address it during our stay. This was particularly disappointing as we had specifically paid more for the upgraded room category but did not receive what we had paid for. This, together with the issues mentioned above, unfortunately contributed to us reducing our overall rating. Had we realised earlier, we would of course have raised it with reception at the time.
Cocktails are really good. Evening entertainment has been great. Pool is big and spacious.
Fantastic hotel with amazing staff. Cannot praise this resort hotel enough. Food was amazing and plenty choice and I am a fussy eater. Bar staff are fantastic especially Fathe at pool bar and all the staff in lobby bar too. Reception staff are very helpful too. Guy in the mornings very helpful when sorting beds and brolly out. Highlight for me was the entertainment team. Work so hard and all of them come and have chats with you. Good games through the day and fantastic entertainment at night time. Overall would definitely return. Loved this place.
Honest mixed review about this hotel which is based on my own findings and experiences. Please make sure you read it all.
The hotel itself in reality is a 4*.
It is located outside Manavgat, which is approx 20mins away via Dolmus. This is located a 2min walk from reception, & is easily accessible.
The local shops (town) are a 10min walk away, and a supermarket opposite the hotel.
Any currency is accepted, but everything in priced In Euro, so make sure you understand your exchange rates before you arrive.
Transfers are 50mins and via motorway, so no back roads.
Pool: it is 1 large pool with various entries/exits. There are 2 step access and a ramp access to the pool for this whom have mobility issues. Both steps have a hand rail. Sunbeds are normally all gone by 0730hrs, so everyday is an early start.
Like all other all inclusive hotels, the food is a little repetitive with choices for children limited to Chips, Burger, rice & Onion Rings
The hotel is modern, large enough. Staff are helpful and friendly.
Lifts are lacking, and the further up you are, the longer you are waiting. So far, we are waiting on average 15mins for a lift to be available, as we are on the 5th floor, have a push chair and no other choice. (Your asking why we just don't ask to be moved, your about to find out)
Despite all of the above, this review is from a personal experience, this holiday has been a let down.
We are a family of 6, split into groups of 4 (including a baby) + 2, & the room sizes have been a let down. When we purchased the holiday, we did so having done our research, & based on the requirements, we settled on x2 superior rooms as this was too sleep 4+ people. This enabled our eldest to sleep with Nanny & Grandad overnight should he want.
This was at a extra cost of £600 per room for 14 nights.
Upon our arrival, we were told we had been 'upgraded' to a family suite which was for all of us. In reality what the hotel has done was put further beds in the sitting room, expecting all 6 of us to live in what was effectively an open plan bedroom.
When we approached reception and explained this was not suitable, the hotel admitted that they had in fact over booked and had NO other rooms available. After further challenge, 2 rooms suddenly appeared. These turned out to be standard rooms. when asked about the availability of the superior rooms we had paid for, hotel staff responded stating rooms are the same, other than mini bar is stocked daily rather than every other day.
The following day we spoke with our rep where it became apparent that since we booked our holiday, the hotel has changed its room types.
Their own (hotel) website states both superior and standard are the same, with regards to commodities except their superior is 36m squared rather than 32m squared, has x2 sofa beds rather than 1, & has a garden or pool view balcony.
It had become apparent that the hotel are overselling their standard rooms to Package Holiday companies as Superior rooms, & their standard rooms as economy rooms. Don't get caught out.
The Rep has raised this with the hotel manager, however the response was they (meaning we) have what they paid for.
The slides: these are fun and kids will live them. Be warned, they are set awith a fast water flow which causes issues when you hit the water at the end. I know this Personally as I had a little incident and ended up in a hospital. The impact into the water is so great. That I somersaulted, resulting in me banging my head on the pool floor. This meant I sustained a head injury and required. Staples. At hospital. Be warned, any such trips hospitals do not accept travel insurance. It is a matter of paying upfront and then claiming your money back at a later time. My visit cost me £1000.
In summary, is it the worst hotel I've been to. No. Is it a hotel I would intentionally visit again, No.
