TripAdvisor Review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An honest review – we would definitely return for the price we paid

Before coming to Vikingen Infinity Resort, I was actually quite sceptical because I’d read so many mixed and negative reviews. However, I also looked at what the hotel offered and, for the price we paid, it had pretty much everything myself and my two teenage daughters wanted. Having now stayed here, I can honestly say we had a lovely holiday and I really couldn’t fault it for the money.

Firstly, our room was lovely and very clean. Our housekeeper was amazing and probably deserves a special mention. Every day we had fresh sheets and towels, the room was hoovered, the bathroom cleaned and even the balcony was kept clean. She was also really lovely and friendly. Our view wasn’t anything spectacular, but we had a side view where we could see the sea, which was absolutely fine for us.

The pool areas were also kept really clean. Staff were constantly walking around collecting empty cups, plates and rubbish throughout the day. A couple of times one of the pools had to close, which I believe was because a child had had an accident in it, but this really wasn’t an issue because there are plenty of other pools to use.

Food-wise, I’ll be completely honest — we only ate in the main restaurant on our first evening. We found it very busy and quite overwhelming, so we decided it wasn’t really for us. However, myself and my daughters aren’t huge eaters anyway and there was so much food available throughout the day that we genuinely didn’t need it. Between the snack bar, Turkish kebabs and the chicken corner down by the beach, we always found something we liked and never went hungry.

The drinks were fine too. I’m not a big drinker, so I can’t comment too much on the alcohol. The Sex on the Beach was okay, although a couple of the other cocktails weren’t really to my taste. The Baileys was really nice and the Prosecco was absolutely fine. My daughters loved the mocktails! To be fair, I find drinks can be a bit hit and miss at most all-inclusive hotels anyway.

The entertainment was probably the one area that I felt could be better organised. The shows we watched were good and there was plenty going on, but everything seemed to be in different parts of such a huge resort. You could be going over the bridge and down the steps to the amphitheatre for the mini disco and show, then back upstairs and over the bridge to the pool bar for the live singer, and then if you wanted to carry on later, back over the bridge and down towards the beach bar for the disco. It’s quite a lot of walking! I personally think keeping more of the evening entertainment together in one area would work much better.

It also took us a day or so to work out where everything was because the hotel is absolutely massive. A little more information or organisation when you first arrive would definitely help.

Another thing I noticed was that we didn’t really have much interaction with the animation team or hotel staff beyond general service. Everyone was polite and most were lovely, with the odd grumpy person here and there, but because it is such a huge hotel it didn’t have that smaller-hotel atmosphere where the staff get to know you. That didn’t particularly bother us, but it’s worth mentioning.

We actually chose to go out quite a few evenings and found a lovely restaurant/bar called Green Heaven that offered a pickup service, which was brilliant and gave us a change of scenery.

Overall though, we had a genuinely lovely holiday. The hotel was clean, our room was lovely, there were loads of pools, plenty of food throughout the day, lots for families to do and entertainment in the evenings.

I think sometimes reviews have to be put into perspective based on what you actually pay. If I had paid thousands more for a luxury five-star experience, maybe I would judge certain things differently. But for what we paid for this holiday, I honestly cannot complain.

Would we return? 100% yes, for the right price. We had a lovely time and I’m really glad I didn’t let some of the negative reviews put me off.

Definitely NOT 5*

Traveled with family -1520-1 This was not our first time in Turkey—we have previously stayed at least 5 different 5-star hotels across the country, but we have never experienced anything like this. Hotel Vikingen fails to meet basic 5-star standards in every possible way and has been a complete nightmare for our family. Key Issues and Complaints:

  1. Unacceptable Hygiene and Cleanliness:

Upon check-in, the room was flat-out dirty. The countertops and surfaces were sticky with old stains and dried spills.  The silicon sealant around the bathtub and shower is covered in black mold, which is a genuine health hazard, especially for children.  Walls and ceilings are cracked, metal bathroom fixtures are rusting, and trash cans are dented and filthy.  The room didn't even have a basic "Do Not Disturb" door sign. 2. Room Unprepared for a 4-Person Family: Despite booking for 4 people, we were only provided with 2 sets of towels. The bed for our youngest son was completely unmade, and there were no duvets/blankets in the room at all. We had to call late at night to get the bed made. When they finally delivered duvets, they came without duvet covers. The sofa bed is horribly uncomfortable—my son was crying and refused to sleep on it.  3. Poor Service and Hotel Standards: You have to chase down staff for basic amenities like towels, bed sheets, and water. The minibar is a joke—it contained only two small bottles of water for the entire family. Charging an extra fee for Wi-Fi in a self-proclaimed 5-star hotel in this day and age is ridiculous. 4. Widespread Issue: This is not just a one-off issue with our room. We are traveling with extended family occupying three other rooms, and they are experiencing the exact same problems. It is a complete waste of hard-earned money to spend your vacation worrying about basic necessities and clean conditions. Save yourself the stress and avoid this hotel!
