Tiana Beach Resort

We’ve just come back from a week as a family of four with 2 kids under 9. First thing a private transfer will take 1.5 hours not the 1 hour On The Beach promised. Tiana beach is a solid 3 star hotel. It needs a refresh. Our room was quite dark, there was broken furniture on our terrace and the bathroom could do with a good grout clean. Our room had a comfy king size bed and bunk beds in, the cleaners didn’t like to make the top bunk, but room was cleaned with fresh towels daily. Also our room had great aircon, until 2 days before we left. Without the aircon the rooms were stuffy and hot and not very pleasant. Bed covers are thin, scratchy thick sheets, we had to ask for 2 for the king size bed as there was only one, the same size as they put on the single bunk beds. The food is average. Nice salads everyday but the meat selection and food that my kids would eat, esp my littlest, left a lot to be desired. There were themed food nights, there was a BBQ, doner meat, fried fish, but be sure to get there early as when it’s gone it’s gone. The desserts were very similar each nights and usually over sweet. Watermelon most days, some days great big juicy nectarines which were delicious. The food catered for the mostly Turkish and Eastern European clientele more than the Brits. The knock off Fanta & sprite was flat, even when straight from a brand new bottle. I only tried one cocktail, and it wasn’t nice so stuck to gin & knock off sprite. The fruit juice was awful, lurid colours and tasted like undiluted squash. My son was a big fan of the hot chocolate from the machine. The thing that made the week a good holiday was the staff. Lovely waiters and bar staff, particularly with my kids. It was my daughter’s birthday and they arranged for the chef to make a lovely cake for her and sang happy birthday. My son got high fives from the staff all day everyday. Stand out staff are Bob, the entertainment guy and Azma, who did the kids club and mini disco. Worked their butts off with very little resources. My daughter told me that Azma brought some things in to kids club herself as it wasn’t provided my the hotel. The guy who did the snack bar and patisserie was lovely. We enjoyed our time by the pool. Good shade bathing options for me and the kids had a blast in the pool. Better get up early to secure a spot at the beach tho. We didn’t make it. Glasses for drinks are allowed around the pool and I saw a glass get smashed on two occasions, once causing quite a significant cut to a man’s foot. This needs to be changed for safety. There is a list of pool rules on the wall, none of which need to be adhered to as no one checks. Took myself and my daughter to the spa for the harem package. The girls looking after us did a great job and I’ve never felt cleaner after my Turkish bath and the massage was great. So overall an ok week in a tired hotel in need of a refresh. Won’t be back but are grateful to the staff who gave it their all with few resources.

Apparently we stayed at a 4-star all-inclusive resortfor 10 days in the end of September beginning of October 2025. I’m still trying to find the other two stars.

Breakfast: boiled (no fried, scrambled) eggs , same sausages, some cheese… and no butter for 10 days. Dinner: six trays of the same food, mostly cold. Fish: apparently “the season is over.” Whisky/rum: also “the season is over.” Kettle: apparently that season never existed. Wi-Fi: available, provided you leave your room. Kids’ facilities: closed — you guessed it, end of season.

Our baby’s cot arrived broken, the showerhead tried to escape whenever the water was turned up, and finding a coffee cup sometimes felt like a treasure hunt.

The staff were generally polite, and the hotel was clean, so credit where it’s due. But 4 stars? Maybe in the same universe where a paper cup counts as fine dining.

After 10+ stays in Turkish hotels, this was easily one of the most overrated. 2.5–3 stars at best.

We stayed at Tiana Beach Resort in June before the busier summer holiday period. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. A special shout out to all the restaurant staff, Sali and Mohamid at the pool bar, Bob the DJ and Bagiel—the lovely lady who brought us fresh towels and sheets every day. Any issues, such as the air conditioning not working, were sorted quickly by maintenance thanks to her. The pool was a good size, and we were able to get loungers most days. When the pool loungers were taken, there were always plenty available on the private beach area. There were some loungers on a lawned area, though these came at an extra charge—I personally think they should be included. This resort has its own spa and Turkish baths, massages etc. Food, always a good selection of hot vegetable dishes, salads and fresh fruits, the meat dishes were not always to our taste. If you like Turkish meatballs you’ll be fine. This hotel is not in the resort centre, you can walk into the centre in about 35 minutes along the coast, there’s plenty of bars and restaurants there. A nearby bus stop takes you to Bodrum in about 45 minutes, buy the tickets on the bus they are very reasonable. We booked a double room, but because there was also a single bed squeezed in, I didn’t have a bedside table which I did miss, it made our room feel cramped. We enjoyed our stay thanks to the lovely staff, a relaxing pool area and being in a quiet part of the resort. Overall, it was good value for money.
