Hotel Yelken in September 2026
Second half of the month, ground floor room. Free safe, Internet good. The location is excellent, the atmosphere is good, the room is renovated, the smell of chipboard is still felt, the complaint is the large entrance doors of the rooms, there are automatic closing devices that do not work properly, they are too strong and you have to "shake" so much to close them because all the doors are almost crooked because of the automatic devices. The corridors shake. Sleeping very badly because of it. The music is too loud, but the only consolation is that it turns off around 11 p.m., but guests who come later from a walk wake you up by banging on the door. The food is outstanding. The cleanliness is excellent. All in all, we are satisfied and I would recommend the owner to work on repairing the door and remove the automatics. They would probably come again, but because of the loud noise, it would be difficult.

We wouldn't return
My honest opinion of this hotel Sunbed wars! Although there are signs stating no sunbeds can be reserved by just gone 7am there are no free sunbeds, all have towels on them but not many people until late afternoon, we noticed people also reserved the beach sunbeds, so they had reserved sunbeds at both the beach and the pool, I reported this to reception 3 times but no action was taken The hotel in all areas including guest rooms appeared clean but on closer inspection were anything but clean, again reported to manager who called housekeeping for a deep clean, they attended our room but didn't clean it. The toilet in our bathroom was extremely low, 13" from floor to seat, average loo is 17" - 19", making it hard to stand once finished, the shower was filthy, speaking to other guests their rooms were clean so I guess we were unlucky with the cleaner allocated to our floor The food was like warm at best, as most buffets the choice was not great If your holiday company states there's an a la carte restaurant there is not Entertainment was non existent The beds were comfortable No chair in our room so only the bed to sit on Holiday booked for 2 adults but only 1 chair would fit on the balcony On the whole the staff were good, but be aware one waiter took my phone and posted a bogus review on here which I removed as soon as I saw it The main clientele in the hotel were Turkish & Polish We booked a boat trip with the guys who came around the pool, Captain Jack, it wasn't good, the food offering was the worst I've ever had on a boat trip, they came around with ice creams, no mention that they were chargeable so we had 2 ice creams and 1 can of Sprite and were charged 800 tl which equates about £12 & change on top of the £30 each for the trip Would we go again to this hotel? Absolutely not!
Turgutreis isn't very big so not a lot to do outside of the hotel although there were some nice restaurants Would we return? No
A Disappointing Stay – I Do Not Recommend This Hotel
My stay at Solana by Yelken was extremely disappointing. The overall quality of the hotel and its services was far below my expectations.
The food was especially terrible. Both the quality and variety of the meals were extremely poor. For me, this was one of the biggest disappointments of the entire stay. The taste, presentation, and overall quality of the food were nowhere near what I would expect for the price we paid. We were disappointed with the food every day and often felt the need to eat outside the hotel.
The attitude of the staff was also very disappointing. They were generally not friendly, attentive, or helpful enough. I expected a much more professional and welcoming approach towards guests.
The service was slightly better than the other aspects, but it still needs significant improvement. The level of service was not what I would expect from a hotel of this standard.
There were also issues with the general maintenance and cleanliness of some areas. Considering the price we paid, I expected a much higher standard.
The only genuinely positive thing about the hotel is its location. Being close to the sea and having a good location are definite advantages. However, a good location is simply not enough to make up for poor food and inadequate service.
Overall, this stay was a major disappointment for me. The hotel seriously needs to improve, especially when it comes to food quality, staff attitude, and service. I would not stay at this hotel again and, based on my personal experience, I would not recommend it to others.
Just misses the mark..!!
I don’t like writing bad reviews but this hotel needs to know where it’s going wrong. I will start with the positives.! Location is perfect and next to bars, restaurants and shops. Cleanliness is great all around the hotel and rooms cleaned daily. That’s the positive, now for the negative.!! The staff are friendly and attentive and do their job well apart from the animation girl who did nothing but sit using her phone and the young man in reception who also spent most of his time on his phone or outside smoking. Entertainment was minimal with a singer two nights out of ten. The balcony was a six foot by two triangle and barely fits two people. The outside seats were just plastic with no padding which made for an uncomfortable sit. The worst part of the whole experience was the food..!!!!! The same every day for ten days. Chicken or turkey stew, rice or salad. Breakfast consisted of eggs, boiled, scrambled, fried or omelette and cold chips and some sort of horrible sausage. Lunch was burgers, hot dogs and chips every day. Just the same thing day in day out..!! There’s so much that can be done to this hotel to make it just right but corners are cut at every opportunity. The pool toilets stank and could easily be remedied with an air freshener over the drains. Cushions in the seats, ect. The spa area and the gym stink of damp and paint is peeling off the walls. I’m sorry but I won’t be back because what is advertised as a four star hotel only gets a three at most from me. You will notice that most of the reviews written here are from Turkish patrons who make up 95% of the clientele. I wish the Solana by Yelken all the best for the future but please take my advice and change things for the future.

Mum’s BiG birthday trip
We had fabulous time / week at Solana by Yelken Hotel. Everyone was very respectful, kind, Food was tasty, Entertainment team -Tuğcee was great, Eddy who helped us organised all day boat trip “Captain Jack” which was our best boat experience-totally recommend! Hotel needs a bit of DIY but overly okay.
