- Sahra Su Holiday Village and Spa

Ideal for couples and families alike, this extensive complex consists of 3-floor modern blocks of rooms and single-floor, thatched roof bungalows. In an idyllic location on the outskirts of the small village of Ovacik and some 8 km from the market town of Fethiye, it is surrounded by pine tree clad hills and has a view of Babadag Mountain. Offering a wide range of facilities, it has a relaxed atmosphere with organised animation for those who want it and peaceful places including a spa centre and a choice of outdoor pools. The village of Ovacik is approximately 1 km away and the busier resort of Hisaronu with a range of shops and popular nightlife is 2 km.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Our 2nd time visiting the hotel and we again had a great stay! The staff are so lovely, we had a swim up room which is amazing for the kids, the entertainment was really good this year too, Carlos and Oscar are fantastic with the guests.Carlos makes the entertainment. Onur and Frank are one of the reasons we returned, they are absolutely amazing people and made our stay amazing yet again, we will definitely be returning again. Thanks guys yet again ☺️

Lovely location, amazing entertainment Carlos and Oscar made our holiday. Plenty of sun beds would highly recommend the swim up bungalows xx
Just spent 10 glorious days at Sahra Su resort and spa. Had the best time. Carlos and his team are fantastic. The best we've seen, even my 16 yr old joined in with everything. There were people with much younger children and there was something for everyone. Darts competition, water polo, bingo, raffles, dancing, themed nights, and so much more. Food was delicious. Different every day. Staff were amazing and so friendly. Will definitely be back.
Extremely disappointing stay – seriously misrepresented
We arrived as a family of four for a late-night check-in. From the outside, the hotel appeared relatively okay, but unfortunately that impression changed very quickly.
At reception, we were immediately met with the smell of stale cigarettes, dated furniture and a building that appeared very tired and poorly maintained. The receptionist was friendly and bubbly during our interaction, but once we were escorted away from reception, I was filled with dread. Carpets had been lifted throughout the corridors, leaving what I felt were significant trip hazards. As an employee, I would have been embarrassed to escort new guests through the building in that condition.
Our room was on the first floor of the main building. It was extremely dated and cramped, with a double and single bed and barely enough space to move around. There was even a camp bed squeezed between the balcony door and the double bed. The bathroom was equally disappointing.
We immediately returned to reception with our luggage and asked if another room was available. The room we had been given looked nothing like the standard rooms advertised in the hotel’s website images. We were repeatedly told that nothing could be done and that we needed to contact our travel operator. We did exactly that.
For nearly two hours, we were left going back and forth between the hotel and easyJet. Our children were tired, upset and refusing to return to the room, while easyJet were unable to provide any meaningful assistance over the phone. We were effectively left in limbo. Eventually, at around 1:30am, we had no option but to return to the room.
Unfortunately, things didn’t improve during the holiday.
There were numerous cats around the hotel, including cats drinking from the swimming pool and using the pool area as a toilet. The pool itself appeared cloudy, and aside from PH levels being checked, I rarely saw anyone actually cleaning or maintaining it. Given the hygiene concerns, I was genuinely surprised that there weren’t more complaints about stomach problems.
The food was okay in the sense that we didn’t go hungry, but there wasn’t a particularly good choice. The snack bar became our preferred option. However, we also witnessed staff helping themselves to food from guests’ plates, which raised questions about hygiene and whether staff were being given adequate breaks to eat.
The hotel was also extremely noisy at night. A new club had opened next door, and the music was so loud that sleeping before around 1am was extremely difficult. I ended up using earplugs and a headset to try to block out the noise. Thankfully, the children were so exhausted that they eventually slept through it.
I do want to acknowledge the staff who made a positive impression. Semih, the photographer, was excellent, and the ladies at the spa were lovely. I would genuinely recommend both the photographer and the spa, particularly as they offered some good deals.
However, these positives unfortunately couldn’t compensate for the overall experience.
We are a well-travelled family and have visited Turkey around six or seven times over the past few years. I’ve never felt compelled to leave a negative review before, but this experience was so far removed from what we expected and what appeared to be advertised that I felt it was important to be honest.
When you’re on holiday, the absolute basics are having somewhere clean, safe and comfortable to sleep. Unfortunately, we didn’t feel we had that here.
We left the holiday seriously questioning whether we would return to this hotel, and even wondering whether we’d return to Turkey after an experience that was so disappointing.
My advice would be to carefully reconsider booking this hotel and, in particular, don’t rely solely on the hotel’s promotional images when deciding what to expect.
