Mirage World Hotel

After staying at Mirage World on many occasions when I was a child, I thought why not book our first family holiday abroad at the same place as I couldn't fault it. However, my view on this hotel quickly changed on my arrival. After travelling since midnight, we arrived at Mirage World at 2.30pm. I have 2 young children. We were greeted by a man who took our luggage, and when I asked when we would be shown to our room, he said "soon" and left us in the lobby for an hour. At this point, my 1 year old daughter was screaming, wet, and hungry, and I was visibly stressed. The reception staff continued to glare over at my daughter and I finally snapped and said "she is wet, and hungry, where is our room?" We then got taken to our room in the C block.

The room was a disgrace, extremely dated and dirty, apart from clean bedding. This instantly made us regret booking this hotel. We left our sign on the door for the cleaners and on multiple occasions returned after 6+ hours without a room clean. I had to go and ask the cleaner for more toilet paper at one point, as I had given up waiting for room service. Air conditioning was the best thing they have to offer in the rooms.

The food was mediocre. Repetitive, and full of flies jumping on everything, so we ate out for most of the holiday. Customers were often rude, barging and jumping queues. One knocked my sons loaded plate out of his hand and didn't apologise. Evening dinner was a complete mess, everyone charges in like a hurd of animals and it's just unnecessary stress.

Snack bar convenient and bar staff were quick to serve drinks.

Pool was lovely, found sunbeds daily however, found that most umbrellas for shade were taken, with some families using 4 at one time. This restricted our time outside due to my young children and the weather being so hot, there was limited shade.

Staff were friendly and interacted with my kids amazingly. Shops inside the hotel are great, the shop keeper is brilliant.

I'd definitely suggest the hotel makes improvements to the rooms and meal times. I love Icmeler, but definitely will not be returning to Mirage World. A 3k holiday, which we just haven't been able to get our monies worth.

Fantastic experience Alex and the team very welcoming to all families. We had a major problem but it was sorted within a few days by Alex! Slides great, food great, alcohol brilliant 😂
