My boyfriend and I stayed at the Ideal Pearl Hotel for 10 days at the end of July. Before booking, I wish I'd read a review like this, so I hope it helps anyone considering staying here. This isn't intended to criticise the staff personally, but rather to give an honest reflection of the hotel overall, particularly as it's marketed as a 4-star hotel.
The Positives:
Areas That Need Improving: For a hotel advertising itself as 4-star, there are several areas that fall well below that standard. Personally, I'd rate it closer to 2.5–3 stars.
Overall Would we return? No. Would we recommend it? No. Did we still enjoy our holiday? Yes - but that was largely because of each other's company rather than the hotel itself.
The Ideal Pearl has some good qualities, particularly the housekeeping, friendly bar staff, food from the outdoor grill and its convenient location. However, until issues such as the sunbed policy, lack of rule enforcement and inconsistent customer service are addressed, I don't believe it offers the 4-star experience it advertises.
We visited for 8 days at the beginning of August. On arrival very late at night we were taken to our room on the 5th floor. It was very small and had slopping ceilings which made the room feel even smaller. We asked at reception for another room the next morning and were offered one straight away on the ground floor. There was no balcony view however the room was much better. I was very worried about the sun bed situation after reading reviews and went down early on the first morning to secure beds. I didn’t need to as there were plenty of beds. There were the same people in the same beds each day around the pool. However there was plenty of available sun beds and the lifeguard would also get you one if needed. We weren’t bothered about being right next to the pool. The food was very good with fresh food cooked on the outside grill at all meal times. We usually get fed up of all inclusive food and eat out a few times but didn’t need to. All the staff are very helpful and the hotel is spotlessly clean. I would recommend this hotel and honestly don’t worry about the sun beds unless you want to be right next to the pool then it requires getting up at around 7am
Second year in a row staying at this hotel. Food was still the same can be repetitive but can always find something to eat! The staff are amazing! Rooms lovely and clean the cleaning lady on our floor was lovely always spoke in the morning! ISO and jimmy the entertainment team give us a good laugh and we’re so friendly! Perfect location right near the beach front!
When we booked this hotel we were really wary due to the negative reviews we had read. When we arrived early hours in the morning as it took us nearly 2.5 to get there the hotel appeared really nice. We were allocated a room on the 4th floor number 411. When we went into the room the first thing we noticed was how small it was. The room was an annex room so you could only stand up in the middle of the room when you got near the doors into the balcony. The bed was a really small double and the bathroom was so small. It was our first night and we were really tired so we said we would stay for the night then go to reception in the morning to see if we could change rooms. My husband is 6ft and I am 5ft 10. So we really struggled. The next morning we went to reception and told them the room was not suitable as it was too small. We were shown another room on the first floor. The room was so big compared to the one we had been given however, when we went onto the balcony we looked into a white wall. No views at all. We said we would not be prepared to move to that room. We were told to come back the next morning and then they would see what room is available. We decided to stay where we were as the view from our balcony was so nice it was just the room was so small, the bed was so hard it felt like you were lying in a slab. The bathroom you could not get 2 of us in there at one time. The shower was a tiny square. You could not even bend down to pick up shower gel, shampoo etc from the floor you had to squat down, the shower doors didn’t close properly so we had to fold up a towel w wet time we showered as the floor would have been flooded. Please be mindful that the walls in the bedrooms and paper thin and you can hear everything that goes on. Yes the room was not ideal however, we made do as we were only there for a week.
The food in the hotel was okay. There was a variety of dishes however, mainly chicken at every meal. You could always find something to eat even if you are fussy. What we didn’t like was at meal times much and dinner you had to have plastic glasses. I get it if you are round the pool through the day however, at meal times a glass would have been nice. It would have also been nice to sit on a cushion when you are eating inside our outside as there were so uncomfortable. If the doors shut when you were in the restaurant you may have been able to feel the air con. It was like a sweat house.
The sunbed situation was a bit of a night mare. We were up at 6.30am every morning for bed otherwise we would have been in the shade all day if we had waited. There was only one morning when all the towels were taken off and left at reception.
The hotel is spotless and staff are always cleaning.
Overall we had a lovely holiday. Would we return maybe if there were small changes to the hotel that improve it.
Just returned from 12 days at the Ideal Pearl. This is a generally good hotel with nice rooms, free safes, good air con and mostly friendly staff. Positives - clean rooms, great location, nice public areas. Downsides - tables not cleaned in outdoor dining area, numerous fertile stray cats running around the restaurant and jumping on tables, smoking allowed in outdoor dining area. By far the biggest downside is the loud techno boom boom dance music that is played at high volume throughout the day without a break. I have an ear problem and asked on numerous occasions for the music to be turned down but with no avail. This is an adult’s only mainly couples hotel and not an Ibiza party resort. The two guys who provide this music obviously like this sort of music but they are two young guys. The entertainment is diabolical and the two guys who provide the entertainment are completely useless. Ideal Pearl - you need to make improvements before you lose customers!!
