This ideally located beach hotel is situated on Long Beach, approximately 7km from the tourist centre of Kusadasi with its scores of shops, boutiques, cafés, bars, restaurants and nightclubs. The nearest airport is 87km from the hotel. Public transport links are located directly in front of the hotel's entrance. The resort was built in 1989 and has been fully renovated in winter 2010/11. The newly refurbished rooms are decorated in cooling, muted tones and come with a private bathroom. Some have direct access to the outdoor complex. The hotel has a half-Olympic sized outdoor pool and separate pool with a waterslide as well as 2 children's pools. The SPA centre offers various treatments for thorough relaxation. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of land and water-based activities.
We stayed for 7 nights as a family of five and, overall, found the experience quite average. Having read glowing reviews from other travellers beforehand, we arrived with high expectations — but on reflection, we wouldn't return.
The location itself was no issue: the 90-minute transfer passed quickly, and we arrived at the hotel mid-afternoon to a smooth, pleasant check-in before being shown to our room.
Unfortunately, the room was where things started to go downhill. We'd booked a family room with a double bed and two singles behind a sliding partition — clearly not enough sleeping space for five people. The hotel only provided a cot for our three-year-old, so we had to track down a fold-out bed from the corridor ourselves and make it up. The room itself was also looking tired: missing plaster on some walls, a broken standing lamp, and a light fixture that didn't work. To make matters worse, our balcony overlooked the service area of the neighbouring hotel, which was noisy at all hours. Despite putting out the "clean room" sign every day, housekeeping only came 3 times in 7 nights — and the room was only properly cleaned once we left a tip, which was disappointing.
On the food side, the hotel offers one buffet restaurant and three à la carte options. Breakfast choices were limited, so we often skipped it in favour of a lie-in instead. Lunch and dinner were fine but repetitive — the same options came round again and again, with limited choice for children. That said, we always found something to eat. The sunset bar by the beach was a nice change for lunch, however the staff down there were not very attentive, and at times rude (Unless tips were in play)
On a brighter note, the entertainment and activities were a real highlight. There was always something happening, day or night, and the team worked tirelessly to keep everyone entertained. The pool areas were also excellent — clean, well-maintained, and well suited to all ages. These things made and pleasant and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the stay. The addition of the childrens softplay and arcade was a great plus point and kept our daughter entertained for hours.
There are number of bars throughout the resort serving a variety of drinks, icecream etc and these are complemented by 2 snack restaurants which were also very good.
Overall for the price we paid for the week during the summer holidays, we got what we paid for.
