Amazing stay at Ambre resort
Just back from an amazing 10 days at Ambre Resort and could not ask for better service. All staff really friendly and asking if we have any feedback or need anything. Special mention to our room maid Visambal who was so lovely and helpful. She even wished my husband a happy birthday and done a little flower display in our room. We went on the free glass bottom boat trip twice and there were always kayaks and pedaloes available should you want them. The food was fabulous with plenty of options and everything we ate was delicious, especially the various curries. We also noticed that the food was mostly kept in cabinets or covered which was great for hygiene. We used a local taxi driver for a couple of trips around the island which was great and good value. If you are considering this hotel, I would highly recommend!!

The massage I had was very nice. The experience was relaxing, Joyce was accommodating and made sure to make the massage as enjoyable as possible.

Wonderful Hotel
A wonderful stay at the Ambre with very friendly and helpful staff. An incredibly beautiful room with a view of the sea. I highly recommended. We`ll definitely be back.
Honeymoon in Paradise
We stayed at the Ambre Hotel for our honeymoon and it was a slice of paradise. A signature cocktail on arrival! The location is stunning with its own white sand beach protected by a coral reef barrier so the water stays calm in the lagoon. No need to rush for sun Loungers - there are about 200-300 around the pool, on the beach and outside of apartments looking out to sea. The pool was a little cold for us but the sea was clear, clean and warm to go in. We were all- Inclusive and some water sports we did were kayaking and pedaloes. You could also go out on a glass bottomed boat, wind surf and snorkel all for free. What made it so special were the staff. They could not do enough for you. Always smiling, friendly, wishing you good Morning and asking if they can do anymore for you. Special mention to our “lovely jubbly” waiter Vishal for our honeymoon meal on the beach and Kaviraj for the cocktails and service at the Coral Bar. All of the restaurant and bar staff should be applauded though as well as the housekeeping, maintenance, front of house and landscaping teams who go an extra mile to keep the facilities looking like they do. We were given a free upgrade to a recently renovated beach view room and it was perfect. Mini bar was topped up daily, room was made and fresh towels were left. There is also a free beach towel service. The housekeeping team also decorated our room for our arrival and once again during our stay on the day of our 3 month anniversary ( couldn’t honeymoon straight away as we work in education). There are three restaurants- Indigo which is a buffet and requires no booking. Caters for all tastes including vegetarian and vegan. Authentic evening meals with flavours of Asia, India, Mauritius and one of my favourite nights was the Seafood. There is also an Italian Restaurant and a beachfront restaurant which both require bookings for dinner but not lunch. At 3pm there is also an afternoon tea at the Coral Bar. They really have everything covered. Drinks are also varied with wine, beer, soft drinks and cocktails included as part of our package and not just one or two only either. My favourite was the Bloody Mary (not spicy) and my wife’s was a toss up between the Pina Colada and Mojito. Sparkling and still water at all meal times too. Waiters come around the pool, beach and tables regularly to take orders so you can lay back and work on the tan and keep the drinks flowing. Entertainment was every night and the singers and musicians were good. If not to everyone’s taste there is a sports bar as well or just relax under the sparkling night sky. We booked the 5 island trip through a company rep who frequents the pool side and beach - Chris At Papas Dream. Recommended by others staying at the hotel and was worth it. Other trips you can book with your holiday reps or get a taxi booked through the hotel. We did ours through Get Your Guide online which we have used before and the taxi driver was such a nice guy we privately booked him for our final trip at half the price. Mauritian people are such great people. I would highly recommend this hotel and East Mauritius to any couples looking for a quiet, relaxing romantic break away from kids and loud music.
