There are just so many reasons to choose the Lux Belle Mare Hotel. The setting is idyllic; it's located on the island's east coast in a quaint fishing village on the banks of the Indian Ocean. The accommodation is wonderful, with traditionally thatched roofs and classic, cool white furniture.
The complex is bordered by a perfect white beach and a lagoon that leads out to the wonderful warm waters of the ocean. There really aren't many more amazing holiday settings than this. The terraces of the junior suites at the Lux Belle Mare look out over the lagoon and gardens. Whether you look out and see the silvery moonlight reflecting in the still pool, or awake to the glimmering sheen of the sun-dappled water, this is heaven.
The facilities are exceptional too. All suites are air conditioned and come with satellite television, phone, minibar, safe, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, and Wi-Fi internet access. Plus, making sure that you get maximum benefit from every night's sleep, the beds have been specially selected for ultimate comfort. (Pool suites and beach suites are also available at a supplement.)

Just as well it's low fat; with four restaurants, the Lux Belle Mare has an eclectic selection of restaurants to tempt you, with offerings of authentic island cuisine, Asian and Mediterranean dishes. There's a fine selection of bars too, including the laidback Piano Bar and the Café Lux – the organic island blend coffee is something special.

Relaxing Birthday weekend
Birthday Celebration 🎉
We spent a lovely and relaxing weekend at LUX* Belle Mare to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The beautiful, clean sea and peaceful surroundings made it a perfect little escape. The staff were extremely welcoming, polite and attentive throughout our stay. A special thank you for the lovely in-room birthday cake, which was a thoughtful gesture and made my husband’s birthday even more special. The food at the buffet was okay, although there is room for improvement. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the warm hospitality. A wonderful weekend getaway filled with relaxation and beautiful moments! ❤

A magical return for our 10-year anniversary - A True Home Away From Home!
Returning to LUX* Belle Mare to celebrate our 10-year anniversary, having spent our honeymoon here back in 2015—reminded us why this resort holds such a special place in our hearts. In 2015 we went all inclusive but it was overkill on our bodies so this time we went B&B which was just as amazing if not more! After spending our first 3 nights at LUX* Grand Gaube, we were eager to see the stunning transformations following the 2022 rebuild, and the resort is more breathtaking, warmer, and brighter than ever. While the property itself is paradise, the true heart and soul of LUX Belle Mare is its extraordinary staff*. After 11 years, the level of care and genuine hospitality remains unmatched.
The Warm Welcome & Upgrades: A huge thank you to Elvis for upgrading us to Honeymoon Suite 1103! Having direct beach access and skipping the stairs made our stay so effortless. Thank you also to Lishka for the wonderful welcome, and to Queen Jennifer at the Celebration Corner—your wealth of hospitality knowledge made our anniversary stay truly unforgettable.
Culinary Highlights & Morning Smiles: Rosino, thank you for making the most delicious, carefully crafted pancakes every single morning! To Bilall, Krissan, and Yashveer (Yashvir), thank you for brewing the best morning coffee to start our day right. You more than made up for me missing Fabrice from 2015. A special shoutout to Alisha & Melissa at the Celebration Corner for your warmth, and to Delores for your sweet brief singing ‘congratulations and jubilations’ to us (you should definitely sing more often!).
Going Above and Beyond: Caruna/Karuna, thank you for keeping our space so spotless and for the lovely chats. Vishna, Stella, and the entire Mondo team, thank you for looking after us so well. Rakesh and Vedish at Beach Rouge, thank you for the wonderful complimentary pizza and drinks!
Mind, Body & Memories: Patrick, it was surreal and amazing seeing you in the gym again after 11 years—thank you for your continued fitness motivation! Putri, you are a literal miracle worker; after struggling with a lower back issue since 1999, your treatment worked wonders and the pain hasn’t returned. You are truly a Princess and daughter of Indonesia. And a huge thank you to Chetan for teaching me how to use AI tools to create and edit stunning photos as well helping create moments of my wife and me to cherish forever.
Exceptional Dining: A special thank you to Rajesh Gopee, Annielle Louise, and Vishal Sookun for seamlessly handling our reservations. As for the food—the Wagyu Beef Tenderloin Stir-Fry at Duck Laundry is quite literally the best we have ever eaten anywhere in the world. (We are already dreaming about it and hoping it stays on the menu!). Next time, we are definitely trying the Grilled Ginger Lobster and Smoked Lamb Chop at Amari by Vineet.
Regrets? Only that we couldn't stay longer—though having 14 breakfasts across 4 different LUX* resorts in 12 nights (arriving to the first Lux* GG with a helicopter) is a pretty great consolation prize (especially after leaving the kids back in London!).
LUX* Belle Mare, you are truly one of a kind. We are already counting down the days until our next visit—hopefully with the kids next time!
