Paradise Cove Boutique Hotel

Honeymooned here. Absolutely loved it. You can see why it is on the list of ‘Small Luxury Hotels of the World”. The property is stunning throughout; so well appointed and clearly constructed with so much thought towards the relaxing, romantic experience of its guests. Staff, food, facilities, entertainment, vibe, all top quality. We cannot find fault. For a honeymoon hotel in Mauritius, look no further.

Paradise Cove is a beautiful boutique hotel and was extra special for our honeymoon.

Rooms are beautiful, with lots of space for clothing etc and every balcony or terrace has a view of the cove which is special. Pool areas are stunning and the restaurants are all excellent.

The free snorkelling and water activities from the boat house are a great addition to a stay and we also booked the guided e-bike tour which was definitely worth it to explore a little outside of the hotel.

Having stayed at a lot of high quality all inclusive hotels before some little improvements would really make this place even more special.

We found the service overall was generally good but the buttons across the pools/beach areas on sunbeds are hit and miss. Round the main pool it was better and Manoi who served during the day there was amazing. However, in other spots sometimes you’d be waiting 30-40 mins for someone to come take an order and there wasn’t initiative to maybe take multiple people’s. We went to the bar ourselves a couple of times and staff seemed shocked we’d go there. If this was slightly improved it would be a full five star experience. The even bar was great and Jamelia always remembered our orders.

I’d also recommend the à la carte menu choices are rotated on a two weekly rotation rather than one week as we had similar menus twice. We also wanted to change a booking early on in our stay and weren’t able to rearrange until our last night.

Also be aware of mosquitoes! We were eaten alive in seconds if we forgot to wear bug spray

We have just returned from a magical week at Paradise Cove and can thoroughly recommend it without hesitation. From the moment of our arrival everything was amazing! The staff are all incredibly friendly and everyone acknowledges you and smiles and says hello everywhere you go. We arrived around 7.30pm and were shown to our (upgraded) room, a junior suite. It is everything you would expect and hope for and there were welcome gifts of a beach bag and a tin of loose tea along with a decoration on the huge bed for our 10th wedding anniversary which was so nice. There is a mini bar with soft drinks and beer which gets re-filled daily, bottled water and jars of various nuts. Beach towels are provided and they check each evening if you would like them to be changed. In the luxurious bathroom there is good quality shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and hand soap as well as vanity kit, sewing kit and shower cap and a hairdryer. We also had slippers, lightweight dressing gowns, umbrellas, and ironing board and iron and scales (don’t weigh yourself after an all-inclusive holiday!). There is a safe for valuables and Netflix on the TV if you have an account along with a few channels and really good WIFI throughout. Mineral sunscreen is available by the cove, and this is encouraged far more than the usual harsh chemical sunscreens that damage the coral and marine life. You will need mosquito spray, but you can buy it there if you forget. As we arrived late in the day we went straight for dinner, and it was a really good selection. As vegetarians we had researched the best hotel in Mauritius for both vegetarian and vegan food choices and can confirm this hotel goes above and beyond for both plant-based food and general sustainability. The reception staff had kindly booked 3 different restaurants for us in advance to avoid disappointment, but you are free to change anything with ease. We loved the Japanese restaurant and had a fabulous meal there and we also paid to have the Vegan 5 course tasting menu at The Cove which was outstanding. The selection of food at Paradise Cove is so amazing we never had the same meal twice. We particularly enjoyed breakfast with all the lovely birds flying around and took photos and videos of the birds drinking our mango juice! We took a free boat trip from the hotel in a glass bottomed boat to visit the coral and watch all the fish swimming. This was about an hour and well worth booking. We also used the beautiful Spa and had a couple’s massage, the first 50-minute massage is 50% off if you are all inclusive and it was so relaxing. There are various pools along with the sea to swim and dotted around are sun loungers and Love Nests all of which have a button you can press to have drinks delivered directly to you. There are so many love nests and sun loungers that we never had to worry about whether we would get one. They really do have everything covered! We paid for a day trip through our tour rep which picked us up from our hotel in a private taxi who took us to all the attractions (waterfalls, dormant volcano, the coloured earth, lunch, and the Hindu temple (our favourite part of the tour) and we can recommend this too. The taxi drivers are very knowledgeable, and we learned all about Mauritius from them. There is a gift shop in the hotel which we visited before we left to buy some local rum and honey. This also sells a selection of clothes and souvenirs. We didn’t really know what to do in relation to tipping so we tipped at the end of our evening meals, left cash in our room for the cleaners and then left cash in the tip box which is at reception. You had to ask for this; it isn’t labelled but I had heard someone else mention it. Saying this, no one is expecting to be tipped as they are all so lovely. If you are reading the reviews wondering whether to book, please just go ahead as you won’t regret it . This is 5-star luxury with everything covered to make this a truly luxurious romantic adults only holiday. Enjoy!
