Active, beautiful and impossible to tire of
Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa has a very particular effect on me. I may arrive in Mauritius at sunrise on very little sleep, but by the time I reach Le Morne, see the lagoon and step into the warm air, I feel completely awake again. This is a large resort, but it never feels crowded. That is one of the things I value most. I can still find my preferred spot near the sea, walk for kilometres, swim, exercise, eat and relax without ever feeling as though I am part of a crowd. Paradis Beachcomber is ideal for active families, but I also find it wonderful as a solo traveller. On this visit, I tried aquafit for the first time and loved it. The class was fast and energetic, and the temperature-controlled pool made it easy to stay in far longer than planned. I attended a Zumba class, too, which was fantastic. The setting is spectacular. Le Morne Brabant rises behind the property, the lagoon stretches out in front, and the gardens are full of palms, tropical plants and huge sweeps of bougainvillaea. An e-bike ride through the grounds and across towards neighbouring Dinarobin Beachcomber was one of the best ways to appreciate its scale and beauty. I stayed in a newly renovated Senior Suite, which was spacious, calm and only a few steps from the beach. The private terrace and sea views made it very easy to settle in. The food was another highlight. At Blue Marlin, the palm-heart salad was the best I have eaten in Mauritius, and Chef Kalyan Urjore understood exactly how to keep my meals simple without making them boring. The soufflé was outstanding! Dinner at Rangoli at Dinarobin Beachcomber was exceptional, with Chef Rajiv Dhama presenting beautifully spiced North Indian dishes himself. I also loved the fact that these resorts share facilities, giving guests more choice and variety. Paradis Beachcomber is livelier; Dinarobin Beachcomber feels calmer. You can move between the two depending on your mood. Thank you to every Artisan and member of the management team who made my stay so special – shout-out to Front Office Manager Yannick Balancy, in particular. I never feel the need to leave the property. For me, that says everything.

A memorable golfing getaway
We spent a week around the Paradis Golf Challenge with friends. A bit unlucky to have unusually strong winds for a few days but fortunately it cleared to be as beautiful as expected. The golf course is impressive. The tournament was a lot of fun - professionally organised and the clubhouse staff were great! Lots of good food options with attentive staff at restaurants and bars. Rooms were large and comfortable. Recommend top floor junior suites. All-inclusive package was the ideal way to go for us.
Blue marline was superb!
